In this build tutorial I am building a DIY golf organizer. This is a woodworking build that you can do yourself that is not only a golf bag stand, but a place to store all of your golf gear.

This came out pretty slick April. If I may leave a suggestion about edge banding the inner circle of plywood, if you have a blow torch pull the trigger and run it for about 30 seconds. At that point use the heated barrel ( no flame) against the inside edge with the edge banding on the plywood and it will seal just fine

So funny April, golf gets you and it gets you good, and forever. It also fulfills my love for trees... Between woodworking and golf, life is good. Cool project, I’ve thought about a solution like this.

Played golf occasionally, spending time with my father when he was alive . I’m glad you are in to it. Found golf sooooo frustrating ... that three hours in the shop was more relaxing and productive for me...measure twice cut once... still there is an occasional “ slice” that goes awry. 🙂⛳️🏌️♀️🪚🔨🏌️♀️⛳️

I love these things, and yours is definitely one of the nicest ones I've seen. My problem is that I'd need about 10 of these! Half of my garage is bags, clubs, shoes, buckets of balls, towels, etc.

Love the organizer! One thing I would add if I build it is a higher ledge where the bag sits, and so that the bag sits on it, so that it is leaning into the swoopie part :D just in case the bag is top-heavy in the wrong part of the bag
Been following since beginning, great to see you golf! Couple tips: I have the lufkin tape and like the large bright colors.
But as a contractor especially in the shop I use a 16’ tape, rarely do we in the business have to use a 25’ or 30’ tape, too bulky.
Only when laying out a house. Also the wider tapes now stand out further, but the curve in the tape is more curved making. It harder to get close to the wood. My favorite type to date is the tajima 16’, it has a white background with black numbers.
Great that you're a golfer now :-) My Dad was a golfer who passed away a few years ago, and I'm going to make your rocking chair using the templates I bought from you, as a tribute to my Dad :-)

You can also use a curling iron for those curves.

When you are TRULY bitten by the bug your gold equipment will always be with you so when you are driving around in your vehicle and happen upon a course or a driving range, you will be able to play an emergency 9, beat a bucket of balls, or just hit some putts on the practice green. You will be unable to do any of these things if you use your finely built bag rack. The most important feature of any car I purchase is if my golf bag can fit comfortably in the back. Hope to see you out on the course someday!

Golf is a terrific sport mirroring life. For women golfer, the question becomes what gets in the way of "Left, Right, Look Pretty" (my first teacher Charlie Boetcher age 5 - 7). There is a LPGA (ret) teacher, Lynn Adams, who was a break through teacher as she was coached by Harvey Pennick. Lynn lives in the environs of Austin like you, Enjoy the game as Samuel Clemens recommends, "do not ruin a walk in the Park."
Apart from my purse, my tape measure is the most used object in my handbag!! Its a must for me!
If you are ever on the east coast, come up to deep creek lake Maryland, there are a few golf courses here as well

My golf bag goes in the back of my Subie in April and comes out in late November. I have a nice shelf for the bag and space under it for shoes, balls and my push cart lives next to it. I like to hear my clubs jiggling against one another as I drive around. It's like they're talking to me. . . . "when are we going to play again?"

I simply use a fine flat file to remove the excess edge band.....works really well for me.

I screwed a 2x4 to my garage wall then put eye hooks in that and use bungee cords for our bags to keep them standing up. All 4 of us at my house golf. Cheap and simple.

You might want to consider angling the floor under the golf bag inward so as to force the bag to lean against the top brace.

I have looked everywhere but can't find any plynut :)
Now you need a golf club pendant to wear on the course.
If anyone is having an issue with your bag and clubs leaning forward and your worried about the bag spilling out of the stand, Simply install a screw in loop to both wooden sides in front, and use a small bungy cord, unhook one side when you need them, hook the cord back up when you are not using the clubs.

I love watching your videos and learn so much from each one. And it also gives me ideas on tools that are worth investing in. Especially like the Armor idea of color coded screws for the different size wood thicknesses. I'll bet that will come in handy even though I use a Kreg jig.
What finish did you roll on there?
