I love Drop C#, it's so versatile. It's heavy enough that it's got some real balls behind it, but not so low that you really have to buy super-thick strings and tweak your set-up extensively to get it to sound good. It's crunchy but still bright and snappy. Super low tunings are awesome too, but I always find myself coming back to C#.
@@slovak4life1991 It isn't live, it's in front of a camera. You have infinite tries. Plus it was a compilation, so even within the scope of an episode with only 10 riffs, the attention to detail wasn't put in.
This took me back to the days of being 14 and just loving the shit out of anything drop D. I mean back when we were that young we thought that was the height of music prowess, drop D was life. May have grown out of that to bigger and better things but still love the nostalgia of all of it. Great video!
How do you feel about bonus riffs in future videos like these being viewer submissions? A great way to get more varied and obscure riffs in, and allowing lesser known talent a platform, it is as they say a win/win situation.

I made a whole bunch of Spotify playlists for each individual drop tuning, alongside an entire 11-12hr long playlist of all of those playlist mashed together in the exact same format - glad we both got genius ideologies at work, lol now I can easily check it over & revise it as is needed (Disclaimer: Some songs aren’t available on Spotify b/c either A) the band doesn’t seem to “exist”, or B) they do and yet the featured song doesn’t appear. I did my best to find similar songs by similar bands or by the same band that go just as equally hard, but it gets tough especially when certain songs repeat [*looks intensely at Slipknot in heretic*]. Just figured I’d mention that at the end of this in case ppl find it & wanna tell me it’s wrong/in the wrong order, I will be revising them all now with this compilation, which again I gotta thank Nik for doing.) Can’t wait to see what’ll be net in store for the rest of 2019! :D

I feel like TesseracT doesn't get any attention on this channel.. they have some amazing heavy riffs. The break-down in Smile (drop G# DADGAD-like tuning) is unbelievable. Good video though man, hope to see some TesseracT in your videos soon! 😉
Depends on pickup and tone and most importantly how well it is played. So they are definitely the best all rounders but you can make anything work if you work out it's quirks

My favorite spots are D Standard and B Standard. My 10-46 strings haven't failed me.

Imo Drop B and Drop C# are the best C# is just low enough and B is insanely dark but not muddy..once you get to like A# there’s a little muddiness
