Homey was doing messenger work with dual suspension, I commend that dude lmao. He was in his comfort zone at all times, definitely had back pains before he chose that bike.
So dope, I watch "Pedal" and this before bombing the night streets in Tucson, AZ. We don't really have couriers here but I ride like one lol. Bikes man, all about the ride :) Peace!
This is gonna be the best video of its kind out there. Love the guys drive and what he wants to do for the people who ride for him. I would like an update on this though because he’s an interesting man.
Funny how the stereotype of a messenger is a druggy and alcoholic. No good messenger is an alcoholic. Biking is excercise. Being an alcoholic hurts your performance and money.
I dunno- I was a messenger for nudging 21 years, and while that's true of some- one of the best messengers I ever knew, and I'm talking long term, not flash in the pan, was a total alcoholic who would knock down, on average 5 pints before lunch. Then continue at the pub every night. Myself - I always liked my weed to smooth out the day. Mate- we were bike riding fanatics who also liked to get fucked up. If not for that love of getting messed up- most of us would have been actual athletes. Professional cyclists. The fun in mess life was a balancing act between getting messed up, and still performing at work.
LOL, _a lot of_ pontificating going on here. But it's cool, I appreciate the intention behind the company. The music was a real throwback too, felt like I was 14 again ready to hop onto Napster. BTW, if this had been double the length, d'you reckon the white dude would have finished fixing his puncture by the end 🤣?!
Great video, respect to your way of living as a messenger, it may seem a harsh way to earn a phew $ but i would work as a messenger especially with the need to get by, and be independent.
They have to be literate to do their job, especially back then before GPS on smart phones. Building addresses, streets, avenues, signs for entrances, etc.

I was a San Francisco messenger for most of the 90s, and having watched the first three messengers featured in this piece, I'll say without reservation that these dudes are unbelievably stupid clowns.
Too much pride here. Like your endangering you and other people. Acting like your due respect. Look at it for what it is, the job is not necessarily needed. This job could easily be replaced by a safer way of transport. Lol like a cab
Two kings marter and squid..
Real leyends❤
20 years later still cool, respect all the good messages from the messengers
It's uncanny how old this seems even though it's "only" from 2000
Well now it's 20 years. It's like 2000 vs 1980, a LOT changed between then.
What makes you think this is from 2000?
@@Uhdi_gaja it says... at the start

It is crazy how 2000 feel like forever ago. I respect the hustle. That has to be one insane and tough job.

Mad respect for these guys
I started as a bike messenger only a little after 2000, and yet this video feels so old like it was from the early 1990's instead! At least
I had no idea Stephen A Smith is a former bike messenger. Rocking a dual suspension bike in NYC back in 2000. Wow!
