Any tips on tuning chatterbaits? I’ve had original chatterbaits that don’t seem to want to vibrate. It will start then stop partway through the retrieve. I’ve tried bending the lip up and down, did not seem to make much difference. Finally I gave up and bought chatterbait customs and haven’t had any issues.
I have not used a chatterbait bass size for the longest time. Never happened to me before. Would be interested to know if it happened out of the box like that. Or if something happened to the eye, the blade or even the snap. Also have u tried throwing it with and without trailers? And exactly how fast are u reeling? I know when they get caught on weeds, a hard snap with the rod will help it running again before I start slow rolling it. Wish I could help more but without it in hand and me throwing it... it's hard to diagnose the issue
raWr Fishing it was hit or miss. Some out of the box, some after a couple of uses. Not sure if something got bent or dinged. Some would be great, some wouldn’t chatter unless you were burning it with the reel. But couldn’t stay in the mid or low water columns because of it. I noticed it was more prevalent with the old style snaps before they changed it to the twisted wire. I still have a few of the smaller chatterbaits 1/8th that still seem very inconsistent with the chattering
i think the lighter ones going to always have some trouble. try just a hard twitch instead of reeling in fast and slowing down. this at least gives it an erratic dart before it goes back to chattering. I think their best line up is their jackhammers, which is the most expensive. too freaking expensive if you ask me. If you have wires, u can always bend your own using cone weights like me. save money; and it does work as shown on my videos.
What happens when you put a blade on the hook of a vibrating jig?
like...u mean a tailspin chatterbait? trying to visualize it... i mean i can. it's just sitting here lOL

let me know what he says, but probably better not. when i use jig spinners, i slow roll em. never know tho!
