    Thanks for sharing these videos. I'm using a ds to populate a drop down list and only getting the first value in the list on my report. What if you have several values in your parameter (select all has over 50 values)?

    Any idea why I get the following error please? An error occurred during local report proccessing. The definition of the report is invalid. The report parameter (name) has a DefaultValue or a ValidValue that depends on the report parameter 'umlocationid'. Forward dependencies are not valid.

    • @WiseOwlTutorials
      @WiseOwlTutorials  5 лет назад

      Hi Henri, my guess would be that you've set the Default Value of the Name parameter rather than the Available Values. Check the Parameter Properties for the name parameter first.
      I hope that helps!

    After Specifying values in Parameters like Monday, Tuesday why you went to adjust Filters. Though We can select that without it.

    Hi, just wondering is it possible to populate the drop down list using query from the dataset and an additional parameter apart from the dataset. If so, how can I do it?
    Appreciate your response.

    I have a quick question regarding the drop down list parameters: I want to put lets say site as my drop down parameter but each site has multiple customers and by following your instructions here, I am able to get the drop down site parameter but the issue that I am having is the site is redundant in my drop down list. Lets say, I have 2 sites (A, B). Site A has 3 customers and Site B has 2 customers. Now my drop down list is A,A,A,B,B. What do I need to do here to get just A, B in dropdown list

    I have a report that start on page two, how do I turn that off so it starts on page one? It is probably a Page Break added somewhere, but I cannot locate a tickbox that makes it work as I want.

    • @WiseOwlTutorials
      @WiseOwlTutorials  3 года назад

      Hi there, I think you'll have to hunt through the properties of whichever report items are sitting at the top of page 2 of your report. You can also find page break settings in Group Properties so check the Grouping pane at the bottom of the design window as well.
      I hope that helps!

    • @narakdk
      @narakdk 3 года назад +1

      Okay, this was embarrising. I overlooked the tickbox for the Page Break I alreade mentioned my self. Now there are no empty page 1 and this part works fine. Thanks for input

    These tutorials are really useful. In the first example I typed in all the days of the week for the parameter and used =WeekdayName(Weekday(Fields!FilmReleaseDate.Value)) for my Day field. However, when I select a day from the list at runtime I get the previous day. So, selecting Sunday gives me Saturday releases, Saturday gives Friday, and so on. What am I doing wrong?

    • @gwynhwfar
      @gwynhwfar 11 лет назад

      ***** Thank you so much for replying so quickly. I'd figured it was something to do with the start of the week, but your expression is what I was trying to get. It now works for me. Thanks.

    Good tutorial and thanks for making in available for free. Do u have a vus aviyt passing parameters from ssrs to a stored procedure?

    • @WiseOwlTutorials
      @WiseOwlTutorials  5 лет назад

      Hi there, we don't have a video on this but it's surprisingly simple to do! When you create a new dataset in a report, on the Dataset Properties dialog choose Stored Procedure as the dataset type and then select the procedure which defines the parameters you want to use. When you click OK, any parameters in the procedure will automatically create a corresponding report parameter.
      This is on my list of videos to create but it may take some time to get round to it.

    • @WiseOwlTutorials

      You can set the default value of a multi value parameter using the same dataset that you use to populate its available values.
