Thanks, Dr. Lori for featuring my John Wayne Alamo mug! I really enjoyed chatting with you in our video call. My dad was a big time thrifter, flea market seller and treasure hunter so I know for sure he lead me to that mug! Now I’ve been bitten by the thrifting bug too and have just started reselling as well, and I know he’d be really happy about that. I think I’ll be keeping the Alamo mug though. 😊 Thanks, Daddy! ❤
I began collecting vintage cookie jars at the age of 16, and now at 66, I own 53 jars consisting of "Shawnee", "McCoy", and "American Bisque"... most from the 30s and 40s. So yes, there are a lot of us out here who DID start collecting at an early age, and who continue collecting to this day! Love your videos, so thank you! ~ Amy 😍
Congrats to the viewers who found real bargains, and thanks to Dr. Lori for teaching us so well. !! I had the pleasure of meeting John Wayne in Cody, Wyoming on July 4, 1976 ! He was Grand Marshall of the parade and rodeo (Cody Stampede) that day. The Winchester museum was dedicated that day in Cody and Mr. Wayne was presented with a rifle. What a kind, gracious man to all who were present that day !
Uh… I’m 40 and I only know about him or Lucy from previous generations, my kids don’t have a clue about anything that predates them unless I expose them to it. There’s just so much more media today, no be can even keep up with it in modern times, much less become familiar with media that’s 50 years old.
@@swayback7375 Your comment made me laugh! I "forced" my kids to watch all the oldies with me! 😉 They protested at the time, but I am happy that they "share" my appreciation for John Wayne esp.
I'm a new viewer and I love bargains. I'm not able to walk as much as in the past so I love when I find videos such as yours. Thank you for sharing this information especially since I love jewelry so much.
I just discovered you via a comment on another youtuber’s video - and boy am I glad I did! I like how you organize info, it fits my brain. I have a lot of catch up to do going back into your older videos. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us!
Oh my God! Doc I may need a Doctor after this. Watching our fav Doctor LORI I just listed a RING. I researched and found similar says tourmaline lol. Now Doctor LORI has a SIMILAR RING LOL. Well I just changed the price real fast just in case. Yes I know I need a Presidium tester. Well got kitty's to feed so in time. But the ring looks the same. And it sparkles like a rainbow when I shine the light. When I did it with the other rhinestones it did nothing so I know it's special. Thanks again. Wish I could send the pic
Sometimes you just have to wonder who does the pricing at these thrifts stores... bless 'em! What's even more fun is running into that level of cluelessness at an auction -- if you can find any these days.
Hi Dr. Lori! I really enjoyed watching this video! 👍🏻💖 I think you are very kind to share your knowledge with us and this format was so much easier to watch for me than the lives. The mug was so cool- I love looking at mugs!! Thank you for sharing!! 😃
Enjoy your videos been using you examples to look for while treasure hunting. Bought a gorgeous vase with beautiful design. Thanks you. be back soon to keep learning.
My dad designed glassware for a lot of the old glass companies, he told me that if a piece has cranberry glass, it contains gold. Gold is what gives it the deeper red color.
I've collected hundreds of studio art glass objects that I'm currently starting to list and sell - will sign up for a pricing meeting for a few appraisals soon - thank you for your insight on how to identify and gauge quality on a wide variety of beautiful art objects.
Amazing finds!! Where would you advise to resale the many different bargains?? Love what I learn from you. Thank you so much for being a wonderful teacher 😍
Hi Dr. Lori, are velvet paintings of any value? I have one that I received after my Grandmother passed. It is in excellent condition & is in a nice carved wooden frame. Thanks!
Send me photos at www.drloriv.com/find-values/online/online-appraisal-form/ or schedule a video call at www.drloriv.com/find-values/from-your-video-call/. See how on my website.
I collected as a child...copper pots and pans, linens, rocks etc. I moved into silver pieces and glassware and crystal, china. Who do I go to sell some of my treasures?
I have a 3 set of amethyst and silver jewlery that great gma had. How could I get an idea of resale price of ? The silver decore looks like gargoyle heads\ side by side. I've never seen a piece as unique as these. Large stoned.
Hey Lori, I have an idea that might work for you when you do lives. Why not do them less often but make them events with live chat and hire people to vet the people and give them instruction before they get to you. Maybe all all day appraisal event with breaks a certain times for you.
I have several hundred pour-through-the-mouth animal creamers. I need to get rid of these so I can move into attended quarters. How can I connect with other collectors who might be interested in buying my collection?
Have you watched my videos that focus on reselling? Have you read my articles on my website at www.DrLoriV.com where I talk about reselling? I also offer classes on reselling.

How sweet!!! I think he would want you to keep it and not be sad. Probably very like him to want you to have a rainy day fund!🥰🥰🥰
I agree, I think it was her Dad who got her to see and buy The Alamo mug in the first place! Wow $3. 👍. Spirits do send signs to their loved ones.
Obviously. No doubt!

Depends on the piece. Have you watched my reselling videos? Read my reselling articles on my website?
Not all of them, but I am working on it 😉😍
Such good finds!
Love your videos! I noticed the Vera Bradley bag on your table. Is that pattern worth more? I have several pieces of that particular pattern!
Good question to ask during my next Ask Dr. Lori LIVE video so I can answer in detail and teach everyone watching.
Gorgeous tourmaline set. Was it diamonds also?
Were those smallerwhite stones on the tourmaline set were those diamonds or crystals?
5 grand for a cup from a famous person. Goes to show that there are still value stuff in the thrift stores
That is so true. Told you so.

The mug made her remember her dad but she didn’t remember the Alamo?🤪
I'd like to see videos of people who paid extremely too much because they didn't know exactly what they had.
That would be interesting!
But sad too...
