What you call a spikey is a marlin spike or a fid. I have not used a wooden one before although I have used bone. Remember to harden your wooden fid by putting into hot ashes to harden the point.. And also apply linseed oil to protect it after sanding. Always soak your whipping for handle grip as it will shrink and tighten as it dries. I did this to a knife my exwife uses .. I left her 25 years ago... She is still using it and the whipping is still on. Final note.... Looks bloody awesome and lethal in the wrong hands lol.
Thank you for the information. I couldn't understand everything because I couldn't translate well, but after the sanding I oiled it to make it slippery. I didn't understand the meaning of putting it in "hot ash". What are the benefits? Is Fid burning?

@@ropework heating the wood in hot Ash dries the wood and make it much harder.

ひとり親方様 質問ですが、南京結びでフックではなく輪状の物にかけるときの結び方をご指導ください。

「フックに掛ける」ことができないという場合ですよね。
先にバタフライノット等で輪を作ってから
ロープの端を支柱や輪状の物に通して
戻ってきた端を最初に作った輪に通します。

↑フックに掛けるパターンなので上述の通り
輪を作って端を支柱等に回してから輪に通します。
参考までに「カラビナ」を「輪状の物」掛けておくと
フックのように引っ掛けることも出来ます。
（「支柱に回す」という手間を省けます）
