Volunteering in South Africa: Teaching Centre

This is an early intervention literacy programme. It supports children who are at risk in learning to read. To do this, the programme focuses on language enrichment, offering extra help and remedial assistance to children who are learning English as a second language.
The programme aims to ignite and strengthen partnerships between schools and the greater community, between volunteers and children, and between parents and children.
The programme strongly believes that words can change worlds, and it is committed to empowering their children through the gift of reading.
