  • Here is a new video about Lifeboat - What is inside, How it looks?
    The lifeboats are molded from fiber-reinforced plastic and fire retardant
    resins. Longitudinal fiber-reinforced plastic side buoyancy tanks are provided
    in the hull and are filled with polyurethane buoyancy foam, which provides
    the craft with enough buoyancy to remain afloat and upright, even if holed
    below the waterline. The lifeboats are totally self-righting when fully loaded
    and flooded. Two lifeboats, one on each side of the vessel, are located on the upper deck, close to the accommodation block. The port lifeboat is also designated as the ship’s rescue boat.

    It’s always amazed me how people don’t pay attention to safety briefings on ships and airplanes. Taking just a few minutes to know the procedures can save your life yet people simply don’t think it will ever happen to them. My Marine Corps MOS was rescue and we flew off carrier’s. It doesn’t take long to become hypothermic, even in warmer water. The good thing about the military is they make you drill safety and you definitely know what your job is and how to do it.

      Sheeeeeiiittt. I pay close attention and count those seats in all directions and memorize how far I'll have to crawl to get to an exit.

    • @justmeisthatok7990
      @justmeisthatok7990 2 года назад +2

      Also folks don't look for other exits at places like restaurant, nightclub etc. .
      In an emergency EVERY one flocks to the front door, but you may be the one getting walked on. Look at that great white fire video at The Station night club in R. I.

      Some people are just stupid like that. It's well known that accidents happen regularly to others. Honestly though for myself, I know it's not ever going to happen to me, so I don't really care much.

    • @petesmith9472
      @petesmith9472 2 года назад

      I agree but I think it’s military experience that instils an appreciation of safety training. One of my pet hates is airline cabin crew who decide they’re going to use the pre take off safety briefing as an opportunity to entertain rather than educate, an opportunity to garner fawning praise at the expense of safety

    Great video tour! It's a perfect reminder of priorities in a survival situation at sea...Stay afloat, shelter from the sea, hydrate, get help. Rugged lifeboat! My concern is that there is only 1.5 liters of water per person.

      @@Shinzon23 lifeboats are normally not just dropped. they are lowered in a controlled manner. yes, they are capable of surviving deep drops from oil rigs or sometimes freighters and tankers, but that would be a last resort measure.

    This free-fall Life Boat interior is very different from that in 2nd clip. It has row of seats like in a aircraft with harnesses so you don't get thrown like a ragdoll, and life suits. The roof has windows so you could view while piloting the Lifeboat to the nearest coast with limited fuel.
