My grandmother had her battle with cancer and i was fortunate enough to bid her a final farewell (pandemic era). I don’t know, maybe for a year straight or so, but i used to play this song every Sunday when i was preparing lunch.
This is a very personal story and so beautiful. My interpretation of it is; his found stardom which lead to alcohol abuse resulting from the overwhelming pressure where he felt alone and once he broke out of that depression he morphed from a dark place and found someone who really was there for him. Where he didn’t feel the need to pretend (colour morph to gold) where he freefalls creatively into his own realm, somewhat less afraid and more willing to accept the unknown. He transcends into green then translucent floating above us, mental freedom where he can accept and love himself and the world around him. That the promise of love and to have someone to grow old with is enough and a life fulfilled
