So Lord Heseltine had more power than the government? Come on?! Remainers had no power to stop the government. All they've done, both before and after the referendum, is state facts and their opinions and try to get through to people that they were lied to, and Brexit isn't a great idea.
Remain politicians voted in favour of the EU referendum in very large numbers. Check the EU referendum bill 2nd reading. Not a proverb, a quote from Mark Twain
@samsteve1000 that's really interesting, things like this fascinate me.....I just googled and found it attributed to a few, the most notable being Abraham Lincoln....apparently the root of it does originate from the book of proverbs in the Bible which says...

The opportunity is too still be a sovereign nation state wth at least some remaining mechanisms to democratically replace the governing body. In the EU there is no means to do so because it is a tyranny ruled by an unelected commission where the parliament has practically zero power to make laws.
@@ryanstark2350 And how exactly do the unelected Commisioners and Councils of Ministers get their jobs? They are appointed by democratically elected governments, just like Ambassadors. Have you ever complained about not being able to elect an Ambassador? What makes your argument even dumber, is that it would have more merit, if these were jobs for life. Instead, these are fixed term appointments, but they expire after 5 years. In addition, when countries use the EU as a dumping ground for it's corrupt politcians such as Malta did with John Dalli, (aka Johnny Cash), the EU has no compunctions about returning him to whence he came
