DEAR FELLOW BAKERS, According to some trustworthy bakers, the evil baker overlords have decided to crack down on people who steal recipes, putting secret codes in the top corners of some cookbooks that will ban them from the cookbook archives. Unfortunately, this means that I have to blur the top corners of the recipe to keep serving the best possible pastries. THANK YOU FOR UNDERSTANDING! -BALD MARTIN from BALD MARTIN COMPETITIVE GAMING (not morgz)
Loved everything about this show. But what stood out to me was how the "quiet" sections were just as impactful as the "loud" ones. Inspired show design and impeccably executed by the members.
What you just described is the dynamic range considerations that every design team uses. Maybe you found it more effective in this show, but everyone does this. literally everybody
Fun fact. The closer, “Lost it to Trying” was a song by Son Lux for the movie Paper Towns which is also based on a book about places on maps that don’t exist. I like to compare this to Lucas Oil Stadium, how it’s used for football year round and people generally associate the stadium with football. But once a year, DCI members and fans gather to watch these incredible performances for a week, and then everything just disappears back to football. Cool show bluecoats!!!
@@Falcon2.39-1 cool thought. Yeah I thought it was funny I was hanging around after Bloo’s encore and the staff was telling us fans to go home because they had to be back in a few hours to prep for a Colts game the next day. Little did anyone know the next day that world champs were crowned just a few hours prior. Btw the son lux track is really great. There’s also an Andy Mineo track called Trying (which is so good) that samples this song, which I was familiar with first, so when I heard Bloo play this, I was racking my brain trying to remember where I heard that before!
Congratulations to this kitchen team on a fantastic International Baking Championship win. Mad props to the cake decorators and designers- it made for a seasonlong slice of perfection!
That part at 3:40 is so deceptively difficult. Like it’s sounds easy but when you dig in to how they are playing it’s insanely hard and insanely impressive
Is this what drum corps has been reduced to. I'm supposed to travel 1000 miles and spend thousands of dollars to watch someone balance a trombone on his finger?
@@earlviney5212 holy hating, it’s just a fun little touch to a great show, maybe you should take the shows name into consideration, change is everything
@earlviney5212 Never mind the entire rest of the show around that few seconds. You sound like you're just looking for things to be mad about. DCI isn't the same as it was 10 years ago, 20, 30, even 52 years ago. Just gonna have to accept that things change.
I don't know, edible silver leaf like that is super hard to pipe correctly. All the cake decorators had to hold their pastry bags at the exact same angle throughout. I think the soundtrack while they were piping was fine- you could still hear the frosting as they squeezed. (That one kind of got away from me there, didn't it)
At the 11:55 mark does anyone else feel an overwhelming sadness at this point of the show knowing that the show will be ending sooner than you want? I wanted this show to play for another day. If you were there and didn’t stay for the encore then you missed out on more joy. You can also watch this recipe 100 x’s like I have.
yes, its so beautiful. like the sad fondness you feel in stories that are about “letting go” in a sense. it works so well because no matter how much we may not want to, change is everything.
so, sure...I've watched this clip a few times - @4:36 one of the most powerful, badass moments in DCI this summer....big brass accelerando - and then they drive the battery straight thru the brass formation -- so freaking cool. & then, silence for that big guard throw.... ballz.
The unexpected duo of the two bakers around halfway through the recipe really adds much needed spice to the mix. So glad they won the baking championship.
This show change my perspective on life on how we are close in our on worlds and don’t see the broader scope but when you see it you never wanna let go
This recipe is great! It used some of my favorite ingredients from other recipes and it mixed perfectly. This is a Golden Recipe and I recommend that everyone try it!
Omg... This show entirely has made SOOOOOO MANNY changes ever since I saw this show at NightBeat!!! Such a great "Change" over the month and did an excellent 100.00 imo!! Great job Bloo!!
I fell in love with the recipe the moment they premiered it. It was an amazing experience to witness such a culinary masterpiece being made in front of my eyes live!
also putting foreplay on the field: RAD totally in keeping with their late 10's and 20's aesthetic, totally awesome, and perfect. my hats off to these hatless 'coats.
This is the most impactful pastry I’ve consumed since probably 2003. So well prepared and I called this team of chefs to take the top prize back in June lol!
Seeing the comments was a initially a bit confused about all the baking references 🤔? Just had to read the recipe to understand ☺. Been watching DCI for decades & completely understand why the Bluecoats were undefeated & eventual champions in 2024 😘! It was an epic performance, one if not the best..
Have you noticed the flashing numbers in the top right + left corners? I noticed this on my stream and assume its an account number Flo is going to use to restrict/ban accounts that post content on YT now in addition to striking lol. Pretty dirty
Awesome show, it just sucks that the last chord sounds very weird because of the screamer missing then note, and then coming in flat. But, all things considered, it was a good recovery

The look on those kids faces at 13:52 tells you everything about the commitment these kids make. Just awesome
Insanely good recipe. I can’t get over the ending, that garnish is just so perfect
Super well-plated too. Excellent balance of color and texture!

I wonder how much practice it took for them to bake this kind of recipe for it to be PERFECT
Thank you for the bread recipe! 😁😁
I love bread. Especially bloo bread.
4:40 genuinely one of my favorite moments in all of DCI. That cold drop off the riffle toss goes so hard
Same and at 10:11-11:31

2024 honestly one of the best recent years for dci
When they started baking recipes by the jazz fusion group that uses funky time signatures it really buttered my biscuit
To be entertaining and artistic at a very high level is unbelievably difficult. They did it with aplomb!!!
