      I doubt they would want to. We share the basic features with apes but our world is designed by humans for human needs.
      An ape that talk or understand us might not be interested in anything human related at all. They have different drives. Would that ape want to bike or go into the jungle and live a secluded life reading human literature away from humans.

      I can’t tell about the condition that animal is living in but push ups to an like that with tremendous upper body strength would be like a walk in the park. He could do hundreds if he wanted to but the man only made him do 10. I also expect that they give the animal a treat for a reward so the monkey would actually want to do it. The lead on the other hand is to just keep it from running away into the audience and messing around (like putting a lead on your dog when u walk it) as long as it doesn’t have that lead on all the time and has a large area to run around that’s fine.

      Not at all, it’s not just communication, many apes have been taught to communicate, but to this day, not a single ape has ever asked a question. That right there shows that they don’t yearn for knowledge.
      Humans always want to learn. That’s why we advanced more than any other animal.
      In terms of strength, human muscles are actually stronger than chimpanzee muscles, except our body’s cannot use that strength without damaging ourselves. Our ligaments and tendons can’t support that strength.
      That’s why when we have an adrenaline boost, women can lift cars off babies etc, because humans are MUCH stronger than we think, but our brain forces us to keep our strength down so we don’t snap our ligaments.
      But if you have adrenaline or something blocking those signals/pain, you can use your full strength (but you’ll damage yourself beyond repair).
      Chimps have proportionate ligament and tendon strength, so they can use their muscles more efficiently

    • @Verystoic
      @Verystoic Год назад

      @@burn1898 they technically cannot ask a question in a way we'd understand on the surface, its still a debate on whether or not any of them whove been "taught to communicate" actually truly understand what they're doing in the way we think they do, and its very possible humans just project that onto them thinking its an accomplishment, but these are still animals that understand what it is to be opportunistic, and them never technically "asking a question" with the communicative skills they were given doesnt necessarily serve as the be all end all of whether or not they yearn for knowledge.
      Technically speaking, its obvious they're always curious, and so this now comes down to your definition of "yearning for knowledge" because they display how much they're willing to adapt to the world around them, they are very observative and often have the intelligence to be aware of their own strength and their relations with us as another species, apes have also expressed passion before or hobbies if u prefer that term. Not eveything they do is simply as a reward scenario, so while we cant use that to determine whether or not they truly understand our "language" or what we try to teach them, what we do know is they adopt practices and use them to further themselves as simple as some of their endeavors may seem.
      Of course some of it is just the social aspect of them being social animals like us, and so the "monkey see monkey do" is often part of that, but they arent always copying us, and the mere fact that they express genuine curiosity and proceed to act on what they absorb, that should tell you they in some capacity could so to speak, "yearn for knowledge", but sometimes you simply Dont know that you dont know, and in their case, as a population rather than as individuals they are in that camp of "You dont know that you dont know".
      And if that doesnt convince you, let me remind you human beings are also often very guilty of living inside their own bubbles and refusing to either seek new knowledge or even accept that there are things they dont understand, and history has shown our species is often not only stubborn to embrace new information and greater understanding, but actively fears change in great numbers, and then u have those who actively chose to go beyond what is considered common knowledge, therefore this doesnt seem like enough to assume they dont yearn for knowledge.
      Asking a question is not the only way to gain knowledge, its simply a more efficient and direct approach especially for us as a species who can quite literally, by our own definition "Ask".
      In an ape's life, that is not necessarily even part of what we observe in their culture and they operate quite often on system of status or familiarity, trade etc, these things are not enough to claim whether or not they yearn for knowledge, as now you have to assume why it is they've never "asked a question" and even then i personally have to ask, "have they REALLY never used what we taught them to ask?" < this part i do not have a solid answer to, but i dont think that changes my point.
