Actually, not too hard to get, you just need to get into the railway through a job like gateline / revenue/ platform staff, then maybe go for guard, then driver. Can be done in 4-5 years.
When I was a little kid I used to think train drivers were so clever, literally thought they always had to concentrate and keep the wheels on that thin track and if just a tiny bit to the left the train would derail bahahah then I moved onto jumping trains when I was 12 to get home much quicker😆 love trains, not as much as this dude though😁

I think you're confusing 'moving' with 'driving' - it's easy when you know the route and know what to do when things go wrong.
