      Seems to me like he practiced a lot of what he was going to say ahead of time. Some of it definitely sounded rehearsed. It's one thing to do that in a short interview where you know what the questions are going to be ahead of time, but you can't do that with a podcast or a long live interview.
      Besides, he stutters at 3:44, 4:15 and 5:50 just to name a few, so it's not as though he had perfect verbal fluency here either.

    I like that Dave mentioned the 'coal issue' (which a lot of people have and it's an honest question) - but given modern plants are running heavy scrubbers, you also have states (like mine) which produces 30TWhs of nuclear power with zero emissions (in fact the waste it does produce could be mitigated by breeder reactor reprocessing - like the entire world uses - when using a MOX fuel source (which it was in fact designed for).
    Now granted Palo Verde produces the largest amount of power in North America per year (enough to support 2 other states in fact - the baseload is a bit insane), but yes - it IS possible to have a zero emission power infrastructure powering an electric vehicle market (not to mention I'm in the desert, so rooftop solar also saves quite a bit on daily top-off of such a car).
    I'm not looking to get into electric at the moment - except - all the new motorcoaches and used ones are being converted with lithium ion arrays sub systems so as not to depend on terrestrial power or diesel fuel powering the aux gen for most of the onboard needs as I look to take my contracting business 'on the road' (in style). So I'm very big on lithium.

    • @fetB
      @fetB 9 месяцев назад +1

      and how is that teslas fault and not the utility company extorting the consumer? Not to mention, during the pandemic oil prices were also raised, and not just adjusted for inflation but way beyond that, so much in fact that the oil companies made record profits, and all that longer than a week of "freeze"
      And cost, its about $20 now to charge a tesla, if not free. Compare that to a gasoline car, and even adjusted for range, you easily double the cost, making it literally thousands of dollars a year more expensive.

    An electric car can NEVER be viable & practical unless it can keep itself charged. I don't even know if that's achievable or not. You can't have every vehicle electric. There could never be enough grid to power that many vehicles. Besides the idea of plugging your car in is stupid. Best way to go is hydrogen or nuclear.
