I love it. embed it into a giant cube of 2-part epoxy resin.... no, that would weigh one million pounds and coast one million dollars in resin, never mind that.
Hello, I would like to congratulate you, very determined and courageous, thank you for posting the videos, always continue like this, may God give you the strength, conditions and health to continue, a big hug!
Thank you! It has some rust and other issues but it's still pretty cool. Stay tuned for the first wash, first start and first drive fingers crossed! 😎😎😎
We have a ‘64 Beetle that I bought for my wife as an engagement present and a restoration project about the same time that this Beetle went under that carport! Fortunately, our car had a completely body sandblasting back in 1998 and was put under primer and stored inside since that time! The motor was rebuilt right before Covid and the body is (finally) just about ready to paint! My original goal was to finish the car in a year; now, I just hope to get it finished before I am too old to enjoy it! You only really lose if you quit and give up!
you have officially became my favorite person. two beetle projects. you mad man! I have mine I'm working on. a original 63 ragtop. It may be cliché but I'm going for a herbie build. been my dream car since I was 4. 😎
CT, any chance you’ll finish the other Beetle before working on your new find? I’m getting a little disoriented, what with all the unfinished projects. Thanks
I spotted a cast iron skillet 😁 Wow that’s rough below the windshield. Caddy floor mats, pure luxury 😁 That ole license plate would make good wall art! Dang!! Georgia and Alabama! She is pretty crispy Cool Coke Case!
Pretty cool find CT, I'm with you on this one. Too good to pass up. After working on a 65 40hp engine this one you should have Darrin put 92mm piston kit in and turn it into a 2180cc and pop some wheelies😂
Cool, I just hope you have the time to get into this one being you have all the other project still waiting to be restored? Or are you just doing partial flips on them? Understand if you can make a profit to keep getting more projects if that's the case? I'm starting to see off some stuff right now so I have room. What I would like to do is get the 40hp rebuilt and sell it and hopefully buy a vintage Corvair motor and all and if really lucky a Monza 140hp 4 speed two door which are hard to find around here.
Some people are afraid of completing a profrct. They suffer from the fear of not having a replacement project. Therefore, they progress so far then start another.
looks like he just drove it and maintained it original up until the late 90s when he stopped driving it. All that rust from the ocean air did a number on it. But what saved it was that awning it was under. otherwise it would be much worse.
That laser gun in the workshop can vanish this beetle :) This "Alabama" Beetle is a donor car for "Giorgia" Beetle or another new building project for the eternity? :D
Have you ever finished a project we get so far then out to graze and rot they go what’s the point in buying lazier rust remover then leaving them in a meadow to rust up again
So nice of this family helping you CT. "Alabama" looks sad , but is too much work on it. My VW beetle was a 68 one with semi automatic shifting Did you know CT that the beetle with split rear windows is called in Germany "Brezel Käfer" prezel bug . Because the rear Window looks like a little bit like a german prezel 😊
The torsion damper that hooks to the steering under the gas tank is worn out, it is what steadies the front wheels and keeps them from doing what you experienced.
You gotta get these things when they become available…And each one is a source of income, pleasure and likely criticism! Someone is going to want that thing because you rescued it and put it on RUclips. You might as well be Brad Pitt!
The engine is a D same as my 65 beetle engine and I bet the car is the same. That's the original engine. Stock 40hp 1200. I bet it will fire up but may be pretty worn out and probably why it was parked?
Anybody know what an X code engine is? I thought it might be a factory replacement block but I don't know. I bought a 73 super and it came with a single port head engine with an X code stamped in. I no longer have that block because I swapped in a 1600 but I've always wondered what I had.
I'm unsure where this is going TBH. You started on a vw then a porche then something else and jumped again to a truck then a vw now this , do you ever finish anything or is this just video chewing gum!
There is not a lot of satisfaction for viewers for seeing finished projects. I think the VW Van is the only one, and even that wasn't totally "finished".
VW bus, 2 Porsche 914’s, 2 1970’s ford F250’s, now 2 bugs, an old dodge truck, and I think a ghia. That’s 9 that I can think of off the top of my head. Feel free to add more if I forgot any…
I thought I was in a parallel universe and you just discovered your current beetle project again lol
haha! I felt the same way! =)
but the interior on this one is so much better....
Nice save CT. You're awesome.
CT: "Let's use my laser rust remover to burn off the oxydation on this VW Beetle"

CT you’ve inspired me. I’ve been hesitant to flat tow my 66 250 miles home.
I’m gonna do it! Thanks! Great find!
The tow bars work great. Make sure you have good tires and safety chain and you can get the LED tow lights from amazon for $20. =)
You beat "5150" on this one!!
Good job finding another one.
I does look crusty, but anything can get fixed if you have the will.

Nice simple and clean video. Really enjoy the dialogue throughout.
Sometimes they find you lol Now you have twins 😊
The Patina Twins! I can't wait for you to dig into Alabama. ❤

I missed your channel yesterday CT. Wow she’s been their😮
Schultz has a new brother - big welcome for "Fritz".
It's the car of granny ❤😂
Hi Ct
That Vw beetle can be completely restored. With some Love.
Thanks Kevin!
Sure, but this isn’t the guy that will do it. If you’re waiting for a finished project look somewhere else. It doesn’t happen on this channel.
I spotted a cast iron skillet 😁

I saw that plate too. I like those ole plates
Yes, it's got some rust! It will make a cool reveal patina project.
@@CTmoog Oh heck yeah! I agree brother!
Can't wait for the reveal CT when you strip it own you interact so nice with people you make people feel comfortable being around you cheers
Thanks Russel! It was a great day and the folks are real nice people.
First wash should be EPIC....Comet bath it.
It should clean up nice Mike! =)
Nice found CT. Great
Is that DENNIS COLLINS with the funny pants.
The old boy would like to see it restored, do you think he will live that long..😅😮
You have a really good parts car to finish the patina bug with.
Thank you

You are welcome! =)

Hi Ct
Why are you buying another Vw beetle. When you cant restore the one you have?

The torsion damper that hooks to the steering under the gas tank is worn out, it is what steadies the front wheels and keeps them from doing what you experienced.
That is good to know. Thank you =)
if you clean up that engine bay are you going to try to start it. Check the Oil pressure switch though to make sure it has Oil pressure first
tires marked petlas. from turkey good tires 👍
yep a D I did get the same Engine number too 🙂
I think it is a 65 for sure.
theres a guy in Colorado that puts Subaru engines in bugs and buses, one had a small turbo on it
parts to make Georgia live

I am ur old fan. Where is your VW kombi bus after the trial run. Badly missing those days Is it in ur garage or did you sell that bus.
Excelent!! another one BUG. :)
Which one is going to be sold? I would buy one when you finish :)
I love bugs ... i whish i wouldn't have one
Probably the reason you got the wobbles is because of the rust on the brake drums. once it wore off than it was fine.
maybe the steering box is completely worn out...?
@@CTmoog loose tie rod end or loose link pins. OR they could have been really tight from no grease for all those years.
hey usually up by the glove box and the upper part is usuallyl totally rusted away so hopefully its okay and not rusted out.
66. I believe that was the 1st year for wipers parking on drivers
I just bought a 61
Awesome! What color?
