    If Jon Snow was dead, the whole mystery about his mother would have been pointless. I thik that Jon's story cannot be over until the identity of his mother has had an impact on the stroy.

    Azor Ahai, the hero who led the battle against the White Walkers with his red sword called Lightbringer, forged by the heartsblood of his beloved wife. The Night's Watch's vows... "I shall take no wife, father no sons...I am the watcher on the Wall. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn.
    Azor Ahai gave up his wife to forge the sword that defeated the White Walkers, and that is why the Night's Watch takes no wives. Azor Ahai made the Night's Watch to battle the White Walkers and Bran the Builder brought up the Wall to keep them out. Azor Ahai was the first Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, he was Fire, Bran the Builder was Ice. And Azor Ahai was an eastern hero, an eastern name... which was predominately controlled by Valyrians during the Age of Heroes... A valryian name.
    Valyrian steel, Dragonsteel, Dragonglass, Dragons. Only one House in all of the world is so intimately associated as the embodiment of living fire. House Targaryen.
    Azor Ahai was a Targaryen. Bran the Builder was a Stark.
    Rhaegar Targaryen names Lyanna Stark the Queen of Love and Beauty and then later they go to the Tower of Joy.
    Rhaegar is Fire and Lyanna is Ice.
    And they meet in Jon Snow.
    Jon Snow is Azor Ahai, the Song of Ice and Fire... and the Night's Watch is his Lightbringer.

    Guys, arya has skin-changed into a cat (When she was blind girl) and into her Wolf (when she pulled her mom's body from the river before baric found the bodt). Also Jon wargs a couple of times without knowing it. It's already been established that all still living stark children are skin-changers

      Lee Hynninen Isn't she? Varymyr Six-skins says one of the principle rules of warging is never warg into a cat because they are too smart. Arya wargs into a cat to cheat her way throught faceless man training. When you warg into someone it becomes a part of you.

      Lee Hynien, she actually saw through the eyes of a house cat when the kindly man gave her her sight back. That's how she knew who was hitting her when she was blind.

    In one of the books, Melisandre asks her flames to show her where Azor Ahai is, meaning Stannis. What she sees is Jon's face, but she just thinks Red Ralloo wants to show her something other than Azor Ahai. I had this image in my head, when I read the passage, of the red god in his "heaven," slapping his forehead and wondering aloud just how thick this woman could be.
    Of course Jon is Azor Ahai - the prince that was promised. Martin has flagged it up so obviously.

    What if Brienne is Azor Ahai, Oathkeeper is Lightbringer, and killing Jaime activates the sword?

      @samaskew4503  10 лет назад +5

      Now THAT'S a cool idea. I think it would make a lot of sense considering Martin's fondness for going against typical fantasy gender roles, and Oathkeeper does seem a great candidate for Lightbringer given its general significance.

    I don´t think Jon will die either; I liked the observation regarding deaths; always someone else witness it. Besides that, there is the profecy from the house of the undying to Dany, the blue rose growing in a wall of ice. That has to be Jon.

      Lee Hynninen Lady died fairly early so Sansa wasn't able to build that connection. Since Robb never had a POV we have no idea about his warging abilities. The fact that they're so close and can feel each others emotions would suggest that he probably would of had some Wolf dreams

  • @charlesscheland5174
    @charlesscheland5174 10 лет назад +1

    Aidan's perspective on characters being dead or not can be proven by Martin's writing style. Cat, Brienne, Asha, and now Jon, all are or were narrating characters. If a character dies, permanently, it's true that other characters have to see them die. Brienne, Asha, Cat, and actually Tyrion all had moments when they died or thought that they did. It's a pattern that if characters feel themselves dying, the character will not stay dead.
    But Jon must be a skinchanger because you said, he has those wolf-dreams. I don't think that Martin will develop him into Bran, but he has the potential to become a skinchanger.

  • @leestevenson6811

    I think John Snow's mum is Septa Lemore (may have been Ashara Dayne). Tyrion notices that she has stretch marks on her when she goes swimming/washing whatever. Not much is known about Lemore either so we may find out through Connington.

    One thing guys, want to here your ideas about it:
    I think that the horn of Joramun is the horn found by Ghost and John together with dragon-glass daggers by the Fist of First man...
    I think Benjen went so far to go were the Wildlings were digging for the Horn and when he found out what they were up he went undercover found the horn first and smuggled it together with all the dragon-glass stuff (by then he might already knew their worth).... and then he rushed back to Castle Black but Others caught up with him and he buried all this stuff in some place were he then could find them...

    • @2211gk
      @2211gk 10 лет назад

      You remember that horn, right? Neither Jon nor Sam nor anyone else from their fellow watchers were able to make it sound.... they decided the horn was broken and Jon gave it to Sam.... If I remember correctly Sam lost it on his way to Craster's Keep

  • @JaeWoodFLAWDSKWAD
    @JaeWoodFLAWDSKWAD 11 лет назад

    It's established that the Stark children, save for maybe Sansa, are (were) all skinchangers. Arya could see through the cat's eyes when she was blind & frequently became Nymeria and killed people and other wolves. Jon saw through Ghost's eyes several times (in "dreams"). Can't remember Robb much anymore, but I know that he and Grey Wind had a strong bond that transcended an "owner / pet" relationship, unlike Sansa and Lady. Bran is just the ultimate changer, as he can control humans too.

  • @dylanmarkey3530
    @dylanmarkey3530 10 лет назад

    And about the horn, Mance says that they never found the horn but instead tried to bluff with a massive horn they found buried with a Giant. I think the horn of Joramund is in Oldtown with Sam. In the second book, Jon finds the dragon glass with a cracked "drinking horn" and gives it to Sam. In Feast, Sam has to sell all of his belongings to gain passage to Oldtown except for his blacks and the horn that Jon gave him. Given where Sam ends up at the end, in the best place in the world to research artifacts, there is a good chance that Maester Marwin or someone else who is in on the whole Glasscandle plot will be involved in Sam's discovery that he has the horn of winter

    • @samaskew4503
      @samaskew4503  10 лет назад

      That's a very cool theory! I think that set-up does make it very possible for that to be the Horn of Joramun, but this raises some questions; if it is a drinking horn, then how could it be blown to "bring down the Wall" or "wake giants from the earth?" Samwell very well might be able to research it or read more about it in Oldtown (by the way, one of the arcs I'm most excited for in the future of the series is what Sam will learn and/or discover in Oldtown!), but it might not be as relevant to the story that way. As someone mentioned in a previous comment, it would be unlikely for the wildlings to have made such a massive horn hundreds or even thousands of years ago, when the world was younger. As for Mawin, his arc will be very interesting as well, but I believe he's heading out to Essos where we are in the series.

  • @cardwitch91

    It could be that dying - or the trauma of death - will somehow awaken Jon's true potential as a warg. I doubt he will be as powerful as Bran but based on the Bran chapters, both Bran and Jojen had their "sight" awakened after their near-death experiences; one from a traumatic fall, the other from a life-threatening fever. Arya's body was put under a lot of pressure by the Faceless Men's trials before her abilties finally manifested outside of her dreams and allowed her to warg cats, and so on. Compare to someone like Meera has seemingly always been robust and healthy, thus never experienced any near-death or trauma that might awaken her skills.
    But I ultimately agree that the prologue was designed more for Bran than it was for Jon. That talk about "abominations" - Bran has already done two of the taboos: eaten human flesh and the worst one - seized a human body. Given that "hold the door" is a definite thing, then it will cause horrible consequences, especially since neither Meera nor Jojen actually know he can do it in the books. Once Hodor goes, it makes me worry if Bran will continue to seize humans - either accidently or on purpose. Given Thistle's fate, kinda makes me worried for Jojen and Meera.

    Melisandra used magic to make the worg with the boar look like Jon Snow. He was the one killed. Jon Snow is still alive. Remember Ghost growled at Jon and walked off. Ghost could smell that was not Jon. The wolfs are protection for the starks, given to them by the gods of the first men. When they are around the starks are protected. Before any one says"what about Robb Stark, he and his wolf were killed. Robb stopped taking his wolf into battle and started to pray to his mother' god. When he started doing those things, the gods choose not to protect him any longer.

    • @samaskew4503

    The future of the Children of the Forrest could easily be seen through Bran chapters, and if we saw Howland through a Bran vision, then we wouldn't need a Meera POV. I'm pretty sure that George has said he won't add any more POVs to the series too.
    But the Children of the Forrest are a very interesting factor as well. Surely they have their own agenda......

    In book 5 He also has a dream that he was holding a red burning sword and fighting off the whitewalkers on the wall. Melisandre also sees only Snow when she asked the fire god who Azor Ahai was.

  • @samaskew4503
    @samaskew4503  11 лет назад

    That's pretty much what I think is going to happen. Regardless of what comes next (if anything) for Jon, I think the wildlings and Night's Watch brothers are going to start fighting and the Others are going to get to the Wall while it's in chaos

  • @josephalfred2246
    @josephalfred2246 10 лет назад

    The horn that Melisandre "burned" could still exist because it was the same glamor fire that burned "Mance Rayder/Rattleshirt." The bigger question is who sounds the horn? The Wildlings or the Nights Watchmen have no incentive to bring the wall down so they wouldn't blow it, but Melisandre might if she thinks she's so powerful that she doesn't need the wall anymore.
    Robb also was thought to warg into Greywind which helped him many times in battle and in getting around the Golden Tooth.
    The book series is called a song of ice and fire. John Snow is the son of a Targaryen and a Stark: Fire and Ice. Why couldn't he also then be Azor Ahai. We already know that Rhagar and Aemon Targaryen were actively trying to recreate Azor Ahai. Perhaps Rhaegar succeeded where Aemon failed.

  • @samaskew4503
    @samaskew4503  11 лет назад

    Sounds about right. I was actually disappointed when Melisandre burned what I thought was the Horn of Joramun. I want something epic and climactic to come of it at some point

  • @dylanmarkey3530
    @dylanmarkey3530 10 лет назад

    I think there is a very good chance that Jon did actually skinchange into Ghost as he was dying. As you brought up, the prologue chapter laid the tenets for skinchanging, and told the readers that in order to avoid permanent death, skinchangers will skinchange into their most familiar animals when their human body shuts down. Now that Bran is to become the next Greenseer, he will (a) be taught about it by Bloodraven, so we will learn more about Greenseeing, as Bran is more than just a skinchanger and (b) he is no longer in danger of death, as he is to remain in the cave and skinchange into ravens and weirwoods, so the message of the prologue would seem lost on him. As Martin has confirmed in interviews, every Stark child is a skinchangers, as we have seen extensively with Arya when she is Nymeria, as well as a cat in the House of Black and White (something I missed the first time through). Just as Robb's last words were "Grey Wind" (meaning he skinchanged at the end and died twice...), Jon's last words/thoughts were "Ghost". That being said, I believe we may have a Ghost POV chapter before he is resurrected or has some connection with Bran. A final thought, regarding how Martin said that WoW will bring us to the Lands of Always Winter, that could possibly be through the perspective of Ghost/Jon. And just a quick note, although there hasn't been sound evidence that Jon was reborn when he died, it is quite interesting that when Melisandre asks for a glimpse of Azor Ahai reborn (hoping to see Stannis as he marches to Winterfell) she instead sees Jon....curious....

    • @samaskew4503
      @samaskew4503  10 лет назад

      I don't have the books with me at the moment, nor do I recall Robb's last words or thoughts being of Grey Wind. Is that true? I agree that the skinchanging prologue and warging dream that begins Jon's first chapter in ADwD seems to be setting up for him. Martin is obviously setting up Jon Snow for a larger and grander role in the series, with his open-ended 'death' at the end of the book and with his face emerging in Melisandre's flames. But the question is, which ones are possible, and which are likely? For Jon to survive by warging into Ghost seems a bit implausible, in that he has no warging experience. I think it is possible though, just perhaps a bit unlikely....

    • @dylanmarkey3530
      @dylanmarkey3530 10 лет назад

      Sam Askew Rob says "Mother" then "Grey Wind" before he dies, I just rechecked ASoS. And that is a good point that Jon has no experience in controlling his warging, yet I still think he could do it in the desperation of the moment. And I am also reminded of how Sixskins comments on how Jon was one of the strongest wargs he ever sensed, so maybe that could influence it, idk...But I still think Melisandre has some big part to play in Jon's return to his body/resurrection, so Jon as Ghost would complicate that... Man I hope this influx of released WoW chapters means the book is coming soon...

  • @samaskew4503
    @samaskew4503  11 лет назад

    That's a very good point; while Melisandre's "evil" and "intentions" are debatable, she does seem to misread much of what she sees in her fires, and I don't recall other shadowbinding R'hlorr followers (but my memory may need refreshing there). Quaithe is a shadowbinder from Asshai but I don't think she's a priestess. Either way, I just really want to see Asshai at some point in the series, and some believe Daenerys will eventually go there: "to touch the light you must pass beneath the shadow"

  • @matthewp823

    Jon COULD in fact be a warg, without having to go through him learning everything the way Bran does.

    2.jon has a dream that he is fighting the others in black armor with a burning sword!
    3.he is the only potential character that would be 'Reborn' in a sense.
    4.salt and smoke= smoking wounds and Bowen marsh's tears ( i have to confirm this by reading it in the book but it is said bran took note that the wall tasted salty)

    I believe that there might be more dragons coming. i believe Euron did in fact had a dragon egg at some point and gave it to the Faceless Men, in order for them to kill Balon Greyjoy. Also, Jaquen H'ghar is in the Citadel, and i think he wants the book that Tyrion mentioned once, the book that tells all about dragons and how to wake them, and from what Tyrion said, that book is only available in the Citadel. But who knows, i cant wait for the next book!

    She definitely seems to be talking about the supernatural terrors of the north when referencing the 'Great Other.' She could mean the Others, or maybe a great spirit of death and destruction behind them all. Recall Bran's coma dream (his 3rd chapter in AGoT), in which he looks behind the Wall into the 'heart of winter,' and is filled with a terrible knowledge (yes, I am a huge Bran fan). That could be what he means.
    I think we'll see more Others through Bran, and I too liked Lady Mel's chapter!

  • @cfh0384

    Interesting theory to take in: If Jon Snow did indeed die, then his watch has ended and his vows are made null. So if he was returned to life after a true death, say by R'hllor powers channeled through perhaps... Melisandre, then he would ( more than likely) be a Targaryan, fulfil a key part of the prophesy about The Prince that was Promised, and be completely absolved of any obligation to The Night's Watch.

  • @samaskew4503
    @samaskew4503  11 лет назад

    Yeah, the POV factor is an important one to consider for that; George Martin has said before that he won't introduce any more POV characters, so we will probably see the Others and the conflicts on the Wall through someone familiar.....
    I doubt, in the long run, that George Martin would just have 1 Melisandre chapter in book 5 and none of her in books 6 or 7. I think she, Bran and Jon could ALL end up being POVs in book 6........

    When Bran meets the three eyed crow, he tell Bran that you can't affect the past, or bring the dead back to life. Bran has the opportunity to grow in power and shatter the limitations that were previously established because of of the birth of the dragons. Bran I think, will show the children of the forest up by doing the impossible.

      i thought that too until i remembered what rhaegar had said about the prince that was promised "his is the song of ice and fire" the way he makes it sound is that it wont be one person representing ice and another representing fire instead only one person will need both ice and fire to defeat the white walkers. i thought it was a stupid theory until i read about jon prophetic dream where he was fighting the others wearng an armor of black ice wielding a red burning sword. so now i still belive that jon will probably have a really close encounter with white walkers maybe even become one of them but i also think that he will have something to do with fire

    It's actually through Sansa that it's confirmed that Ned is death. Arya doesn't actually see Ned die cause Yoren pulls her away from the sight of it. It's not till later when Sansa is remembering how her dad was executed that you learn Ned Stark is truly dead.

    The prologue chapter's entire point is to show that skin-changers can skin-change into living creatures after they die. Of course this relates to Jon Snow at the end, his last words are "Ghost". He is clearly warging into Ghost, but the question is whether he will ever be a living human again. Rob also warged into Grey Wind, but his wolf got killed right away.

  • @corbew
    @corbew 10 лет назад

    I don't think Jon will skin change into Ghost because of what Sixskins said in the prologue of ADWD. He talks about how your human death brings your final death, then you can start your second and last life. He talks about how the transition into his wolf One Eye will be simpler and eventually the man actually becomes the wolf in spirit (not just body). Then as time goes on the man is forgotten. This knowledge all comes from his predecessor Haggan (who he killed).
    It also mentions how if he changes into One Eye he doesn't think he will be able to skin change anymore (although he technically doesn't rule this out). If that is true, what would the point of Jon living? Ghost is an awesome dire wolf but he wouldn't be able to do much. In Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade Indy has to pick the holy grail out of a whole bunch of cups, pickign the wrong one sets off a trap. He asks himself which cup would a jewish carpenter have used and picks the only plain cup from among the bejeweled options available. I think the same applies to the horn of joramund, which horn would a wildling leader carry around with him? The one the size of a small village or the one a man can easily carry.

    While he may not warg into Ghost when he dies, (although I'm one to believe that that is the reason that the prologue was included) I think it's pretty safe to say that Jon is a warg. While Bran's story was awesome, it was like 1% of the book while Jon is nearly a third of it. Plus, Bran's pretty much established as a warg, and I think it's too much of a coincidence that the prologue was about dying and warging and then a warg dies at the end. Plus, Bran can't be the only one because Arya.

    Perhaps you're referring to Tormund Giantsbane? And Daenerys thinks she's merely having her moon blood, but it seems like more blood than usual, and the moon is only a crescent when it happens, which is unusual to her. Perhaps it could have something to do with pregnancy.
    The father could be Hizdahr zo Loraq, or maybe Daario Naharis, but I feel like her being pregnant would keep her even more anchored in Essos, and delay her arrival in Westeros even further.....

  • @samaskew4503
    @samaskew4503  11 лет назад

    Those are all very plausible possibilities, but it might be a bit of an overkill with the resurrection tactic, a mistake lots of other series make. If Coldhands were revived, I feel like he would have been Benjen Stark reanimated by the Children of the Forest, and that his being family with Bran helped a lot in getting him to them.
    So far Quentyn's story arch does seem a bit incomplete, but it did have relevance to Dorne's true plans, and through him we see the dragons unleashed upon Meereen...

  • @Carell117

    yeah it would be a lot of resses for one book haha! After watching your Winterfell video I agree that Stannis would kneel to Aegon if it could be proved he were a true Targaryen (e.g riding a dragon upon Daenarys' arrival).
    Yeah true but I felt that it was Quentyn was given way too much buildup to be killed off so obviously. I honestly feel the same about Sandor Clegane as we never saw him die and I have a groundless theory that it will be the Hound who puts his brother (Robert Strong) to rest!

  • @samaskew4503
    @samaskew4503  11 лет назад

    Stannis MIGHT bend the knee to a returning Targaryen on dragonback, but to nothing else. Aegon VI, for example, is possibly an imposter and without any dragons. I feel like Stannis would assume he was a "mummer's dragon." As for Daenerys, she doesn't even know how to control her dragons yet, but if and when she does, I don't think she will immediately seek to rule Westeros. I think, if and when she goes to Westeros, she will fly straight for the Wall...
    I don't think the Hound is dead either!

  • @1spacecadet4

    You seem to suggesting that Jon was betrayed by all of the Nights Watch. It seems to me that it was just Marsh and a few cronies, who I expect will be killed by those loyal to Jon (the majority in my opinion), and Tormund and his wildlings. This may even strengthen the alliance Jon was trying to build as the Nights Watch traitors become a common enemy. Jon might not have to be resurrected either, he might just be wounded. Either way I think he'll be back, if for no other reason than without him we won't have a POV character on the wall.

    the dragon does have 3 heads, But i think you guys didnt mention something aswell. Before Jon is stabbed, there was that guy who got killed by the Giant. His clothes had stars or a comet in them, im not sure now, and Martin makes a point in telling us that "useless" information, and Jon dies under those clothes. That could very well be the comet that signals the coming of the prince that was promised

    Could the two horns represent the Song of Ice and Fire? Two horns blowing could represent a 'song'. If the Horn of Joramun is from the far North, and it awakens huge creatures of the north and could potentially bring down the wall and everything, it could represent the 'Song of Ice'. And if Dragonbinder is from Valyria, a very fiery place, and it controls dragons and whatever, it could potentially represent the 'Song of Fire'. Just my input on it, great video by the way!

  • @bck4728
    @bck4728 10 лет назад

    Oh but the horn of Joramun was not found by Mance - Tormund also confirms that Mance lied during his and Jon's negotiations. I actually also believe that it's Sam's horn, which Jon gave to him. But Sam sold it in Bravoos, right? So where is it? Is Arya going to find it?

  • @Carell117
    @Carell117 11 лет назад

    In my opinion, I think Jon won't skinchange, he'll just be resurrected, either like Dondarrion or possibly like Coldhands. With regards to Mereen I think Moqorro will also resurrect Quentyn as there is otherwise no reason for Martin to have had him found by Victarion. Also if the Boltons die I think it will be our young Faceless girl who does the honours as there would also be no reason for that whole story arc unless it ends with some badass assassination that is linked to her "first face"

  • @melonandfigg
    @melonandfigg 11 лет назад

    Have you considered Victarion being Azor Ahai? He was on the sea (salt) and his hand was smoking when he was "reborn". Also, Melisandre states that "The Other" is the enemy of the Lord of Light, could this be a reference to The Others? I wonder who's POV we're going to see the White Walkers in...most likely Bran (something isn't right with the children of the forest) or Melisandre. I loved Melisandre's chapter and I really hope we get more. She's the wall's only hope.

    I have a strong feeling that Jaime is the prince that was promised if he is aerys son. and it would just be amazing if it would be Jaime on the side of light fighting against bran who I think will help the others. it would just be amazing if it came full circle Jaime vs bran just like how it all started. I am convinced that the starks are connected to the white walkers somehow and I think benjen is somehow involved with them and def not coldhands though.

  • @samaskew4503
    @samaskew4503  11 лет назад

    It's possible that "Azor Ahai" and the prince that was promised are two separate people. I feel like Daenerys is more likely to be one of those, IF either of those prophecies prove true. But maybe Jon and Daenerys are both "chosen ones" in some way. How and why do you think Jon would kill Daenerys though?

    well I was thinking back to the prophecy the blood witch told her, about when drogo would be back to normal. maybe im making it literal. when the sun rises in the west and sets in the east. I think that's referring to the martells whose sigil is the sun. they're rising up against the throne in the west while the prince died (set) in the east. the drying up I believe refers to davos and his kids. who are dying left and right. mountains in the wind refer to (Robert strong) being burned by dragons.

    Don't kill my dreams! Jon is the Lord of Light!! Lmao. I def. see how that's not really plausible...and thinking about it now, you guys are right! It would be waaaay too convenient for that, and I probably wouldn't even really enjoy it if that actually ended up being the case. However, I do think that Jon is part Targaryen- but I think he's the child of Rhaegar & Elia. I say that because, to me, if he was Lyanna's son, I don't think it would be a secret for Ned to save him. And I just don't believe there's anyway honest-to-a-deadly-fault-Ned, would ever have an affair! I don't think Robert would try and kill Jon, solely out of love for Lyanna, even if he was part Targaryen, & heir to the throne. I just don't see Robert ruthlessly killing the child of the women he so dearly loved. Doesn't seem right, imo. But if he were part Martell, then I can understand Ned's secrecy. He couldn't bare to see a child killed and he would claim the little boy as his "bastard". Also, this could be good for the future, too. Perhaps the revealing of Jon's lineage would help to quell the Martell's rage over the death & rape of Elia. Idk...lol, I'm not good at predictions :(

    The falling of the Wall, the advance of the White Walkers and the overrunning of Westeros are really the only reason to introduce Daenerys and her dragons into the final confrontation. If she isn't part of the final battle, why would Jon be a Targaryen if not to unite with her?

  • @petyrf9101

    I think Jon Snow is Azor Ahaii...and the Night's Watch is Lightbringer.
    Think about it.
    The oath of the Night's Watch is as follows:
    "... I am *the sword in the darkness*. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, *the light that brings the dawn*, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men...."
    Jon basically "killed" Ygritte with the Night's Watch by betraying them.
    Sounds familiar?
    Lightbringer was forged by Azor Ahaii killing his beloved with it...
    As Lord Commander he wields the Night's Watch as a man would a sword.

    Just thought of an interesting way john comes back. John dies from his brothers turning on him but melisandra hides johns body away. Johns spirit goes into Ghost Johns wolf. Ghost precedes to go into the forest. Ghost later on in the story during a small scale invasion of the white walkers on the wall. Gets into castle black and smells for Johns body finds it. And just when help is needed Johns spirit leaves Ghost and returns to Johns body. He awakes and Long claw just happens to be there in the room he grabs it and precedes to kill white walkers. And there for is reborn and is presumed to be Azor Ahai. Till the real battle with the whites happen. In a way it would be kind of like Gandolph from the Lord of the rings going from Gandolph the grey to Gandolph the white.
