Let's also note that at this point no one actually knows what happened. All they know is there was a baby in the pipes (not flushed, an open pipe) and a teenager who just experienced a traumatic birth which had herself unconscious. There was no obvious immediate physical threat but rather two dying humans. That's why medics often come across as cold and uncaring. They learn that letting their emotions and judgements get in the way of their ability to save lives causes more harm then good. You feel sorry for the baby but never stop to think what happened to the mother and how she must be feeling. Birth is difficult and changes grown adult women. It does much worse to underdeveloped teenager brains. And before you say she shouldn't have gotten pregnant; it might not have been her choice.
"If this baby dies, it's on you!" No, its on you for wasting everyone's time as if that girl and the baby aren't running on borrowed time. It's not his job to decide who receives help and who doesn't. He needs to shut up, do his job, and leave the judging to the judge.

Are you sure? I don't recall it going like this.
What the actual flip just happened, why is he saying "it's on u if they baby dies" a teenage girl gave birth and she is also very ill, what the heck is this world we live in
Maybe because she tried to murder a literal newborn just because she didn't want it. There is no justification for that kind of thing when safe haven surrender is an option.
Bro ligit said ‘i wish’ 😭💀
Tf did he just say like it's his right to judge patients and deny them basically life saving treatment
His boss does chew him out afterwards. This episode is from the first season, I believe that character was poorly written when the show started. He get's better after season one.
It's not professional but it's a human reaction. Even the worst inmates in prison attack those jailed for harming children. They had to cut that baby out of a toilet pipeline, so I don't think his animosity is without warrant. Wrong, maybe, but infants and small children are entirely defenseless and it's a natural reaction to protect that most people have when a small child's life is in danger or they have been harmed
@@boleebo2925 a paramedic may feel disgusted and angry but that doesn’t mean they are allowed to show it and act on it without punishment.
@@allisoncastle I agree, I am not saying the way he behaved is right by paramedics standards. That's why I said it is a human reaction, not a professional one. He shouldn't have, but it also clear to see why he would have behaved the way he did
For those who are harping on Bobby, this was during 9-1-1's earlier seasons, so he still had a lot to learn. Don't worry, he gets better as the series progresses.
Except this aint in earlier but final seasons of 9-1-1

I get it’s bad but what do you expect from a 13 old who just had a baby and is petrified and has no clue what to do.
what did she do?
@@xelaroid4581 Someone in the comments said that, "this girl was a teen who hid a pregnancy and had a baby and she gave birth on the toilet and flushed the baby down the toilet." The baby was stuck in the pipes and they were worried they wouldn't be able to get to it in time before it drowned. Luckily, the baby survived and the child who gave birth gave the baby up for adoption.
@@goldengoddess834 thats messed up 😭😭 who writes these scripts bruh
@@xelaroid4581 well it can happen which is why I think we should to teach our kids about sex and what happens if you do get pregnant cause it protects the kid more than trying to "hid" it from them, like realistically (talking from what I've seen in my skl) the kids who were actually taught and stuff are actually less likely to do all that stuff, anyways ik this barely has anything to do with the video but I've seen so many parents try to hid their kids from sex when it's not gonna help them at all
I'd expect her to contact emergency services, like we've been told to all our lives from the beginning to the end.
That guy doesn't belong to be a paramedic, he uses his emotions.
“IS THAT THE MOTHER?!SREW HER-“
Buck is annoying AF...she is a teen, could have been sexually assaulted, and it could gave been someone else that had taken the kid. He knows nothing at that point.
Unfortunately if you look at the comments and even real recent events people judge first and ignore any evidence to the contrary all the time.
As a paramedic that dude holding the baby damn well knows our job is mom AND baby. You got extra hands and a bus you take both and haul. I know n it's a show, but he's the kinda guy we'd all despise and we'd all get blacklisted.
I have seen most paramedics treat people like shit

A lot of EMTs think they are superior. Albeit they have to make judgment calls every second, this one was easy to make.
I think it's on him. He wasted a few precious seconds just to be like. "Nu uh uh." Just my opinion though.
Idiotic opinion, you don’t transport a victim with their aggressor
@@chrisidornigiethat is a FULLY GROWN ADULT MAN, if he can't defend himself & a baby from an injured teenage girl, that's on him
@@NoSleep4780yeah that’s not how that works. It’s not about him defending himself, it’s about the fact the teen committed an act of abuse on her baby. Legally they shouldn’t be transported together. Another ambulance should’ve been called for the girl.
@@bautistalover but there was no time, they made that extremely clear in the videos
You wish what sir??!? We finna circle for sure on that 😅
Broooooooooo 😡☠️💀what’s wrong with him It’s his job
she flushed a baby down the toliet so yeah he has every right to be pissed
"If this baby dies, it's on you!" No, its on you for wasting everyone's time as if that girl and the baby aren't running on borrowed time. It's not his job to decide who receives help and who doesn't. He needs to shut up, do his job, and leave the judging to the judge.
“Nah I wish-“
Sir please put your hands up
Can't blame the guy, waisting precious time for a mother that would do such a thing. She still had a kid and she got pregnant. Back in the day kids of 10-11 year old started working in the fields/farms helping there parents and being adults with there action. This girl is almost a teen and in my book she is a adult.
Times have changed, girls aren’t brought up to be raped, molested or sexually assaulted and if you think that what he said was ok then there is something seriously wrong with you

She hid her pregnancy from everybody until the birth led to their being discovered.

I know Buck is a popular character and generally a good guy, but I would have had his job for that. His job isn't to judge (or blame experienced officers unfairly and unnecessarily), it's to give initial aid and transport patients to hospital so they can be further treated. He has no business judging that girl when he doesn't know her situation.
Buck was just scared to let the baby die, he let someone go on top of a Ferris wheel..he isn’t gonna let go this time
ah, yes. back when we all hated Buck.

Bro said i wish thats crazy
What pisses me off is these type of cases are completely avoidable. If these girls werent villanized for getting pregnant young they wouldnt be scared to admit they are pregnant. I really hate it here.
They shouldn’t be having sex at all. That’s the point. If people actually treated kids like kids instead of adults maybe they’d stop trying to do adult things. There’s a reason there’s been a huge surge of teen pregnancy as opposed to back when the boomers and the next generation were growing up.
@@bautistaloveryou are aware that most cases like this result from rape... Right? Or are you just as blindly judgemental as Buck?
@@bautistaloveralso... I'm boomers are called that because of the "baby boom" around that time... Minors getting pregnant is NOT new and has actually decreased (3%) over the recent years. And again, most cases are forced assults but the girl is still victim blamed.

how to get fired:
Look into that guy. He refused to let her in after hearing they're looking for a girl, hid in the room when he saw the cops come, and the girl who had the baby was a minor and living with him. He most likely assaulted her.
That's not his decision to make. His job is to keep people alive until they reach the hospital. He is not judge, jury, or executioner. The baby dying would not be on her in the least, but on him because he's delaying transport.
"I wish" was wild

What would you do if you were in that situation, remember she is 13 not as old as you are
@joyoluwambe9727 That's because the baby's life isn't important. I've read enough not just here but over different articles and stories the past few years that lets me know society doesn't care when it comes to unborn and/or newborn babies. It's like a compassion chip is missing. If this girl had flushed a newborn baby mouse or rabbit down the toilet you'd have heard more people lose it than they are with this baby. Pitiful.
@@joyoluwambe9727this is exactly why he should be fired. At this point I'm the show no one knew what had happened. And he chose to judge the girl (also a child herself) based on information he didn't have and tried to refuse to save her life. If she died under his care after such a remark in the real world the EMT would have been investigated for manslaughter. A medical personnel can not allow their own biases and judgements to get in the way of proper care.
IRL medics talk about it all the time. It's hard, but ultimately they do not get to choose who lives and who dies. And for good reason.
