Rob, We need a video on how to directly consider buying cards from TCGPlayer low sellers to resell on our Direct stores. Love the content, thank you for being transparent!
Thanks for putting out this type of information. I have been looking to get into selling bulk online and I've been learning a lot from you. I'm currently struggling to find bulk at an affordable price but I'm trying to turn over every rock I can find!
Keep grindin man, It's tough at first, but it will happen. When I started I shook down old buddies and people I knew at my LGS's. When I scoured FB, I'd buy at rated I probably shoudlnt, but even then, there is money to be made, even ifit's the slimmest, but even though $ is important it's ok to lose a little if it means your building a portfolio and rep. Gotta think of the long game!
Your hope for others growth and positive futures really inspiring. Its been 6 months and i have built from 0 to about 2000 a month cash flow. Finally started on TCG. Just hit level 3. Hoping to be there with you one day and open my store hopefully in a year or two
My only issue with Direct has been that it is not clear what is in stock or how much. For example I tried to flip Deep-Cavern Bats because it is popular in standard, but only 1 of them sold Direct (I bought like 60). I also buy primarily commander decks to flip as singles (because the value is more deterministic), and the newer sets they typically only have the chase cards in Syracuse. Other than that, Direct is kind of amazing as a seller and a buyer. If you can’t understand the value of getting a whole 75 card deck in less than a week in one package, you’re bugging. As a smaller seller I reinvest my payments back into the buylist and typically have larger “bursts” of high value cards and my direct shipments have been on average, 50-150 cards. I had one the other day that was only 20 cards (it was closer to $400 or $500). Super not painless. When they have been 1000+ cards I knew I was ingesting a lot of cards and was prepared for the labor.
My problem is having the stock but not enough time to sell anything other than $1+ cards. I think I'll stick with offloading the bulk on eBay and my website!
I know your video is from a seller perspective .. but to give my 2 cents as a buyer I shy away from tcgplayer direct, which (funny enough) is the indirect service because the cards I get as you explained are not the vendor cards (your cards) but cards tcgplayer had in their own inventory and therefore the quality is totally random. I cannot base my future decisions due to the low or high quality I received on the vendor(s) I selected.. So I always always buy from the actual vendors (the actual direct way) that way I can track the good vendors and bad vendors for my future purchases
Apologies, back to back comment on two different vids. I feel like I am very much capable of direct, but I have so many issues with their inventory management system. Just started watching this one, so maybe some of this gets addressed. Will be looking through older vids to see if additional content on direct exists. Thanks for the content friend. Cheers.
Have you thought about switching to a 3 inch tape? It is a little bit more money, but it is worth it if you can reduce the number of passes on the top and bottom of boxes. It worked well for our business. Talk to your tape vendor about it
I see a lot of sellers not paying attention list a card at lowest price underneath everybody else that offers free shipping over $50 which makes their card actually $3+ less than everybody else, and they will have like 20+ copies of that card. It's like bro come on. The whole free shipping on orders over $50 really screws up the whole pricing of cards so you can't always trust the TCGp Market Lowest listing and Market Price when pricing your cards.
Hey Rob, great video! Thanks again for all the info. On a side not do you know where to pick up bulk? I have my phyzbatch coming in a couple of weeks and want to keep it running :) -Mike
Start with your local player base, advertise it in store. ( We advertise it on our website). Also use your local Facebook groups. Once the word gets out it kinda just keeps coming
Ok so thanks for the video but there’s are thing, these people on tcg mark the price wayyy lower than the actual market price where to the point you can’t profit not even a cent like for example the market price might be $1 and the listings for that card might start at 0.7 like how bro. Do I put it near market price or try to beat the low price which will evidently put me at a loss. Please help.
I was doing SYP, and just started Direct on my other account. Have 50k cards on the Direct account, but I'm skeptical about how fast they will sell. I've been opening product like a mad man, hopefully I can keep feeding both accounts.
Hey man. I know you've answered this question probably a thousand times at this point. But do you happen to have a link to the store page for those shelves at the beginning of the video that you use for tcgplayer bulk? Thanks as always!
They look like some standard wire rack shelving units. Uline probably has them but they might be expensive from there. Any home improvement store probably has them on their website as well
Can you give any advice on getting approved for direct without doing the $600 a week they ask for? I have all of the other thresholds they ask for I just don’t know what to do. I have over 300k bulk cards to list and direct would be perfect for me
Go for it on a new set release or a rebate weekend. I tried 3 times and was rejected on the fourth time I sent them a note with the application on my record of customer service and how many orders I process daily. They let me in and I didn’t quite make the 600 threshold
I think we quintupled our sales by going Direct. absolutely love it

this was i was thinking on doing the other day, it was very interesting
That hoodie says so much about your character that we dont see on video and I fucking love it.
Family family family family
Another great video from you, Rob! Thanks for sharing.
My first RI was last week and it was 1500 cards. Direct is intense and not for the faint of heart.

I remember you from IG. Great job on the channel.

Damn I gotta get ahold of your bulk
Could you do a part 2 on this and get into the nitty gritty? Things like the seller replacement fees etc.

doesn't tcgplayer have their own employees double checking condition? How consistent are they?
@@VitoD226 very inconsistent...that is the issue for me
new joint looks great

Are you still running separate accounts for TCG Player Direct and then your in-store listings?

I’m at Seller Level 3. When can I start TCG Direct? Or should I try Pro first?
I am a day one seller scrub. Any advice I sell from home.

What product have you been? Do you sell your 10 cent lower cards

Yea they are the homedepot 6 tier shelves, 3 of them make two units. I put them together and throw away the extra parts
I like the B roll
So pretty much drop shipping?
Kind of but not really
