That was Great. Your chats are opening a whole new world of canoeing to me...and certainly my reading prospects have opened...thank you keep up the good work
Great chat with the great Hap Wilson. Came to Canada in 1995, never having seen a canoe. Temagami was my first canoe trip in 1996. Instantly hooked on getting out there after a trip down the Temagami River.
Thank you Kevin and Thank you Hap! Very much enjoyed your chat. To Hap, I don't know how you emotionally and mentally handle the the Governmental and big business B S when trying to work with them to protect things. But we are all glad you can! You too Kevin, your work has inspired people to help protect the places we love. Thank you both! Stay safe and healthy!
This was an excellent interview to hear today. Thanks Hap ! sooo much in there that I relate to. Hap indirectly helped me get a job on MNR canoe route crew, after he left that and went into outfitting and TWS service. I found myself in an internal kind of battle within MNR while I was working there. What was going on was kind of like a Netflicks movie except it was real ! The internal conflict in MNR Temagami got to the point where I couldnt handle it anymore. So true that there were many many locals in Temagami including many MNR staff (not all) who looked at Hap as the enemy of the people...just as he describes it. I have lots of stories on this theme. Thanks for this interview ......Doug Hamilton
Thanks for this Kevin, the last time I saw Hap in person was in 2009 at COTS on Obabika Lake in Temagami. None of us getting any younger, I also have finger issues from all those years of gripping the paddle in all kinds of weather for hours at the time!
Thank You Kevin, I have heard you other Canadians talk about Hap Wilson. And I always thought he was another Canadian canoe guy. I never knew the full back story. I am going to get educated about his work and buy his books. This has been a great Chat.
FYI Kevin: The 40 minute limit is only for more than 2 people in a meeting. For just 2 people, it remains unlimited, even for free accounts. Thanks for this interview; I am a great admirer of Hap Wilson, and really enjoyed hearing him share his thoughts extemporaneously.
I truly love these interviews. I've learned so much through your connections to the paddling community. If I could be so bold, next time please ask how civil disobedience has. Are people as bold now as back then? Thanks, Kevin!
as someone who grew up on the Winnipeg river, hap is a legend
I could listen to you both talk for ages!

Thank you for this! Hap’s guides have been an essential part of our trip planning over many years. It’s great to hear his stories first-hand.

Really enjoyed this latest series of chats. I think you should consider doing one with my great friend Gord Baker. ;)
Hey. That's a great idea. I'll send him a note.
@@TheHappyCamper Feel free to drop me in it... He might share his taste of whisky also from what we've had together over the years.
