First arrived on Whidbey in 1970 as a young Naval Aviator and left in 2009; lived with a Coupeville address, with a few short spells, for the entire time. Looking at the videos of Oak Harbor reminds me of how different it is now. Then there was no McDonald’s, no big box stores, no City Beach, Midway was two lanes, one traffic light on the whole island, and I could go on and on; it was a great small community and Coupeville was even smaller. The first house I bought in Coupeville on Front Street cost $11,000.00 and five acres near the Engle dairy farm was $5,000.00; oh how have things changed. Again, I could go on and on; built a few homes that you showed just east of Ponel, sic., that you showed in the vid. plus many, many more all over the island north of Greenbank. Thanks for the video, brought back a few memories.

I prefer my memory version from the 60's, so glad I didn't retire there!

Born at the Sea Plane Base in '57 and raised out in the wooded country. Oak Harbor was just a little Dutch and Navy town that no one had heard about yet back then. Great childhood times going everywhere on bicycles and exploring the woods, cliffs, and beaches. Sigh... all gone in housing developments now but they still live in my memory's eye.

Where on Whidbey can you not fly a drone besides the Naval Air area?
