My Grandfather was the absolute twin to Mr Borgnine. He was always mistaken for him, he was built like him, sounded like him, had the same mannerisms, same laugh, same build, even same glasses. He was a truck driver and seeing Mr. Bofgnine enjoying driving and mingling with truck drivers is a real joy to see. I lost my grandfather in 1987 when he was only 59 years old. Everytime afterwards when I would see Mr. Bornine in a movie or TV show I always had to watch it for to me I was seeing my grandfather. When Mr Borgnine passed away i felt as though i lost my grandfather.
ErnestBorgnineBus HIS 5TH WIFE TOVA TRAENEAS , WAS ABOUT 55 YRS. OLD AT THE TIME OF THIS TAPE, ERNEST WAS 79 YEARS OLD. HE HAD 4 CHILDREN FROM HIS 4 PRIOR MARRIAGES. TOVA HAD A BABY OUT OF WEDLOCK AT AGE 17 YEARS OLD. TOVA RECONNECTED WITH HER SON , DAVID IN 1991 WHEN HE WAS AN ADULT. TOVA HAD GIVEN DAVID UP FOR ADOPTION AS AN UNWED 17 YEAR OLD TEENAGER, WHEN HE WAS AN INFANT. ERNEST REALLY SEEMED TO PAVE HIS OWN PATH AWAY FROM THE HOLLYWOOD GLITTER WHEN HE WASN'T WORKING ON A FILM, STAGE ETC. PROJECT. MAY HE RIP. BTW, ' MARTY ' IS STILL POIGNANT TO WATCH IN THIS DAY OF LACKLUSTER ACTORS, ACTRESSES, AND FILMS.
Just found this on You Tube. Such a kind, gracious man. I mostly remember him from McHale’s Navy but I never knew he himself served in the Navy. A true hero and gentleman. Rest In Peace Mr. Borgnine
Rest in Peace Mr. Borgnine, now you can cruise heaven in an RV & laugh at the idiots currently stinkin' up Hollyweird. The world lost a great man & a phenomenal actor!
John D My dad was a trucker and loved to drive his Bounder motor home. This video brought back some wonderful memories of a trip to Wyoming in 2001 for a family reunion, much appreciation from a fan in northern Cali!
Wow this was a great series that I was lucky enough to stumble upon. You can tell what a great person he was.He was in Ohara many many years ago and a friends mom recognized him....he said hello and ....shook hands and a few autographs later....I told him I had the vhs copy of Flight of the Pheonix. He said.....yea that was a great movie to do back in the day.He quoted a small line that he had about the transistor radio he used in the movie.....So cool.
Borgnine's stories are all good. Talking about how Rickles asked him to get a house in Malibu and Borgnine is like, "Nah, how much time am I gonna spend there" - that rings so true. That's how they thought in the old days, didn't matter how much money they had or if you were a big star, you didn't buy something for show like now, you buy it if you need it for some reason. If you don't need it, you don't get it. Very down to earth fellow, Ernest Borgnine.
James IT'S OCTOBER 2017, AND DON RICKLES HAS PASSED AWAY 5 MONTHS. ALL OF THESE GREATS I GREW UP WITH AS AN AFRICAN AMERICAN FEMALE IN NYC WATCHING OLD FILMS AND LISTENING TO OLD COMEDY ALBUMS OF DON RICKLES AND RICHARD PRYOR, AND FILMS OF ERNEST BORGNINE. MAY THEY ALL RIP.
Several years ago I realized that he and my grandfather served aboard the same vessel, the patrol yacht Sylph. Borgnine talks about it once or twice here and there. He was the "old man" at thirty or so and had a luxury stateroom; spent his entire WWII service aboard it off the east coast I believe.
This would have been so enjoyable to drive the country in his bus with him driving. I love his honest opinions and wanted to hear more about his military service and various movies.
Just beautiful watching him drive this great actor my hero. Those days we didn't have computer only movies and English magazines from where we read about him. I've seen him in so many films don't remember them. He's still with us through videos .Thank you so much. Salisbury Park Pune.
There are not many people in Hollywood I would like to have met but this guy is up there top of my list sadly I will never meet him a true Hollywood star a gentleman as an actor playing the bad guy he was the best he added something to every film...RIP MR borgnine.. sadly missed...
Love Him.........My Dad was the Same, Depression Child,,. World War II Veteran.. Every Day was a Gift . Attitude. ........The Greatest Generation....My Dad thought he would have been Killed in Action . Battle of Japan...After they defeated the Nazi's.........Truman dropped the bomb. so........Cool stuff,,
......... I must have seen this a long time ago....... God knows there's a million things on the internet.......... but believe it or not after all of the stuff they got out there to see I was so happy when I ran across this again Angie I think everybody really liked Ernest Borgnine I was born back in 1915 or 1916 and the world was a different place growing up back then... my mother was born in 1917 and so I was raised around that kinda stuff .....and it's sad to see things speed up so much.... when people go faster.. it's easier to make mistakes .....and believe me people do...... one thing I remember about growing up with that kind of people as they took things slow..... they thought things through .....and they didn't make that many mistakes..... it seems you hurry up and it's too easy to make mistakes..... and it takes twice the time.....
I'm sure he did. He wasn't like these famous actors we see today. They expect to be treated as special, entitled & privledged. Ernie was nothing like these average talents of today.
The interviewer should of asked better questions about his movies and the stars he worked with. Oh well I still enjoyed watching it. He reminds me of my dad. RIP
The new truckers aren't like that anymore, too bad. My dad as a kid would always flash his lights when the old truckers were clear and they would flash back to say thanks. Now the new truckers don't even move over when you are coming onto the highway from an on ramp. Ernie would be disappointed, as am I.
Ernie's family must be very proud of him. A truly great down to earth guy. Hollywood didn't change Ernie. RIP Ernie.
He’s a real class act and humble Hollywood today could learn a lot from this man.
Just listening to Ernie makes me feel good. And such a down to earth guy.
I enjoy these Ernest Borgnine videos more than anything I have seen in a long time. great man and a great actor!
He was an awesome guy, funny this video popped up as suggested. Never knew about the bus.
He just seemed like such a nice man. I'll bet just sitting with him for coffee and breakfast and chatting would have been a great experience.

I totally enjoyed this interview. He was the best!
Thats a great story of the trucker driving up beside you to see if you really were Ernest!
John D My dad was a trucker and loved to drive his Bounder motor home. This video brought back some wonderful memories of a trip to Wyoming in 2001 for a family reunion, much appreciation from a fan in northern Cali!
You SIR have all of the respect I have to give. Thank you for having existed. Mr. Earnest Borgnine.

@@AuntieSDC great news about Earnest Borgnine .but Richard Pryor was best in the movie Silver Streak back in 1975 or something. Thanks .
Thank you for posting, this is great
Phenomenal actor and seemed like an amazing guy.
would have lved to been on that bus, he reminds me of my dad, one of my fav actors, thanks so much for post
I love the man cuz he is a class act I wish you the best Always
What a down to earth amazing man. Who lived till 95 years old. Wow! And his wife Tova is still going strong.
I'm glad they did this trip together. Make memories.
I could listen to his stories for hours!

Reminds of Dad. Great generation
Mr. Borgnine is right, truckers deserve all the praise you can give them, as if you have it, a trucker brought it to you.
This really makes me want to go out and buy a C Class motor home.
Mermaid Man. Always a classy guy. RIP
This world is so much less without him.
He loved his bus
These vids are precious -- thanks for posting!
Excellent video clip !
Love his laughter ❤ and the pure joy in his heart. Just traveling the USA 🇺🇸
Lived til 95. And worked till he was 94. I’ll sign that contract right now.
love Mr Borgnine. a real class act.
too serious though.
I'd say..almost.....ernest
This would have been so enjoyable to drive the country in his bus with him driving. I love his honest opinions and wanted to hear more about his military service and various movies.
Cabbie. One of the best characters in Escape From New York.
Great actor and also more importantly a great human being......RIP Ernie we will miss you.
I was surprised too when i drove through Illinois. It was endless fields of corn like I've never seen anywhere !!
The actors of today don't hold a candle to Ernest Borgnine. Like I said before he is an American Treasure. RIP Ernest.
these videos are precious

Thanks for truck driver compliments! It’s gone to hell now though!!
Prevost. Wonderful vehicle. Ernie also played a cab driver in "The Catered Affair"
That’s my dream one day. To do the same thing. Travel in a Prevost. And throw my watch away.
1997 Escape from New York, Ernst big actor. One of the most super actors of Hollywood. Italia love Ernst 🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷🇱🇷

William Thurston .How come your mother was born after you were? Quite a feat.
What a wonderful Gentile Giant he was! I would have loved to have spent a day fishing with him!
Gentile Giant? I’ve always thought he was Jewish! 😆
Such a nice person 😍👍
God is was a good man, genuine.
Awesome guy.
Awesome!!!!!!
He's a man who obviously remembers a lot of things but who just as obviously doesn't understand many of them.
great man
Great idea for a reality TV show: Hollywood yesteryear star travels the country in Winnebago, meeting the folks.
No offense btw to Ernest Borgnine.
I'm thinking about him in his Matador on Convoy
also played a Cab Driver in " A Catered Affair" with Bette Davis and Debbie Reynolds in about 1956
Ernie said Bette Davis was his favorite actress & considered as her as one of his best hollywood friends.
I WONDER IF ERNIE ACTUALLY HAD A BUS DRIVERS LICENSE.
I'm sure he did. He wasn't like these famous actors we see today. They expect to be treated as special, entitled & privledged. Ernie was nothing like these average talents of today.
It's not a bus it's an RV!!
The interviewer should of asked better questions about his movies and the stars he worked with. Oh well I still enjoyed watching it. He reminds me of my dad. RIP
Any man that made it look like he just got beat up by a one armed Spencer Tracy was one hell of an actor.
hes a old skool man, like we all should be more alike!.
We used to be good drivers. Now the quality of drivers has gone down hill dramatically.
The new truckers aren't like that anymore, too bad. My dad as a kid would always flash his lights when the old truckers were clear and they would flash back to say thanks. Agreed, some of them shouldn't being driving trucks at all.
