These videos are just one more reason you guys are my primary supplier. I run into the deadlatches and swing bolts all the time, but have only seen the lever handle and paddle accessories a handful of times, and never had to service them. I'll be picking up a few of the replacement cams now. Thanks PJ 🙂
Great video, PJ. That was very helpful! I was wondering how the lock/unlock indicators fit into those bodies. You, sir, are a blessing to the #lockboss community!
Great video, you probably saved my ass. I ignorantly tried picking (technically successfully) what I believe now to be a Yale 626 mortise cylinder in my one of my jobs doors, which locked up after mostly unlocking the latch. Still not unlocked though and you can’t unlock it completely from the inside either. ofcourse I chose to pic the one that is significantly easier to come through… but never mind that. This made me realize I can take the door apart and either fix it myself, or get a new Yale lock and have it re keyed or whatever my boss (who is thankfully my aunt) wants me to do. But I atleast don’t have to have a locksmith come out right away and if I need a locksmith it can be taken to them so it’s easier for both sides.
Where was this video 3-4 years ago??? Great video as usual PJ. Great information just wish it was around back with my first experience with these locks. #LockBoss
That’s great. Putting it together on a work bench is much different than lining it all up on the door. I promise if your boss hasn’t personally put one in he won’t understand that and probably just ask what’s taking so long. And show us how you take that little e-clip on and off in the field. Show us how you get the cylinder out without scratching the door on one that’s already in. If designers and salesmen would install one of these things that would get interesting.
Hey Tommy. Thanks for the great content. I have a question about installing a new coded lock on doors with a glass payne such as this. Will drilling a new hole in the metal part for the new lock cause the glass to shatter due to vibration?
Great video! Btw, there are different backsets with these. If you get the wrong one, the faceplate will not be right. 31/32” usually most common though. Thanks for sharing! #lockboss
how about adding a combination lock with the key function on a dead latch with paddle interior paddle. can the code lock keep yhe latch open for the day without actuating the paddle and key function ?
I installed a knob on a commercial door but once I lock on the outside I can't open with the knob inside. Is that normal or I have done something wrong
Store front door handles video cleared up some questions I had of concern such as the difference of the sizes of the cams and the space between the face of the cam. And the use of the paddle cam handle that is also used on the lever handle. Thanks so much for that useful information. #lockboss
I have one similar to 1st mentioned, but after repaired twice by lock smith, still encounter same issue once in awhile. That is the door couldn't open the lock no mater how the key turns as if the bolt stuck or something. we found a trick by violently shake and bang on the door frame then it unlock. May I know what is the problem with this lock? Thank in advance again.
Would you happen to know where to get a pushbutton type keypad handle for these types of locks? Also, the existing lock is a hook bolt. Can it be changed to a dead latch?
I copy keys and change locks for the people in a mobile home park I live in Florida. Do you sell key blanks on ebay? Seems I've seen CLK Supply somewhere 🤔
Hey, nice video, ive been looking for a video like this for a while. Question- Is there a way to stop the key from spinning twice in opening or closing this type of lock?
Good info but perhaps you could take a bit more time to explain the Left Hand/Right Hand Cam function. You use the term Left Handed but is that the feature of the operator or the latch/door/swing? Darrow...for the Prosecution

Pj, I can’t find the pdf links for part numbers etc. Can you help me in this regard? I think your videos very useful, and complete.
What can you do when the latch sticks to far out thus will not push back when closing but will bang on the mortise ?
Hey man, any way to open it if it is locked and no keys? I have 4 doors on a place but no keys and they are locked shut.
