Setting it ten years after the original series did open up things for some creativity as well as finally allow Mr. Krabs' daughter Pearl to be added to the forefront as a main character but there was still so much that didn't make sense due to that time-skip! Such things were never explained like how Sandy got her arm back and her new eye from, how Squidward was still alive and reformed, the origin of their God weapons, how the characters even came to be marked by their sins committed in the previous series, or when the Titans' Attack on Bikini Bottom even started or where they came from. Still, I do enjoy the "Wrath of the Gods" series as a guilty pleasure. Even at their worst, series like "SpongeBob SquarePants" and "King of the Hill" were some of the absolute best manga and anime series of their time, and I feel bad for the Kids these days who have to grow with less inspiring anime reboots like "My Little Pony: FiM" or "Teen Titans Go".
