They can always go over luxury tax now, and if it fails.......trade away during the trading deadline to get under the luxury tax later?

Let’s pretend Roki doesn’t sign with Padres for some reason (even tho I think he will), Tomoyuki Sugano from NPB could be a good pitcher for back of rotation. And why wouldnt Verlander for 1 year be a good signing?

Management was fiscally irresponsible with the majority of the big contracts. This current team has peaked (they were unproductive not unlucky vs LA). Youth movement is needed to neutralize these big, unmovable contracts. Time to develop the future.

Unless we get rid of the Xander contract or restructure it, we won’t be spending. Preller has done a lot and has brought excitement to SD . However, that Xander signing was a mistake

Xander just got here unless there is two years left on his contract, you got to waive him later. Or trade him.

Save 600 million by tradeing Bogart's and Machado
Not only Bogart's needs to go to trade for a starting pitcher cuz Kronos worth can go with him
also to be very honest with you the reason the Padres lost the World Series opportunity
because of the taunting by an unnecessary Manny Machado in game 4
again stirring the pot instigating the loss in game 4 and Game 5 just by being a knucklehead taunting and getting the Dodgers riled up
which happens way too much with Manny -
Common sense to keep your mouth shut and go back to the dugout which then caused the chance to make the World Series
because they were leading 2 to 1 and had a game at home and I firmly believe if Joe Musgrove the Dodger killer would have been pitching at home...
we would be already playing the Yankees and believe that we would have beaten them thanks Manny
Who again continues to only instigated 0 for 24 streaks
by again this knucklehead more often can't keep his eagle or his emotions in check I trade Machado I've had it with him and I don't want any longer
his so-called leadership which leaves runners in scoring position all the time and also the fact that he only works 2 1/2 months or 3 months out of the Year always lazy slow at the beginning and then realizes he's taking it a batting average of 230 and then decides oh I better pad my stats I look bad
it's not for the team it's for Manny Machado
so I've got Manny Machado traded to Cleveland for not only Steven Kwan but also starting pitcher...
So the Padres would be saving 250 million while eating 25 million to the team for Bogart's and also trading Manny Machado over to Cleveland eating another 25 or 30 million of his contract to sweeten the deal so that you can return a left fielder from Kwan and Elite off guy and more pitching
So the combining of both Bogart's contractor saving 8 years of 250 million you're also saving the Padres front office of another 300 million from Manny machado's contract their for giving you the opportunity to bring in Crochet Blake Snell and Saski

Preller is scraping his Padre pennies together today because he committed $300+ million for Machado over the next ten years…Machado’s should sub-contract from his gold mine salary to directly pay a few of the lower Padres players contracts this year…(humor I know).
The Padres are their own worst enemy…I’ve been a Padres fan since 1984, this 2024 was the first season I recall the Padres having the highest batting average in baseball. So in typical Padres (find a way to self-destructive fashion) the offense took their foot off the gas pedal against the Dodgers and went to sleep for 24 straight innings. So when the likes of Machado, etc stick out their chest and strut, we know it’s just cocky arrogance…not a WS winner.

Trade Cronenworth and Arraez to the Yankees for Stroman and Cortez. Trade Cease and King (because they will both be free agents after next season), one to the Mets for Acuna (SS) and Vientos (1B), the other to the Nationals for Wood and a catcher. W. Peralta could go in one of the above deals to clear his salary. Waldron and Vazquez fill out the rotation to begin the season.

Poverty franchise stuck w Xander and machado kinda contracts . Why would anyone want to play there lol. Better off playing in La when all the stars deferred their contracts so they can add more players to support their dominance .
