Good range of playing samples, and agree with the points you make. The R8 is also my personal fave Les Paul variant. It's the one where I think Gibson gets the most features and execution "just right"

Been a player a long time- never been able to afford one - the only reason I have one is my brother gave me one

It took me almost 30 years of playing to actually allow myself to try one out hahaha! The prices are SCARY!!! But after playing for so many years it's nice to own a few of them. But again... SCARY PRICES! Cheers -Ryan

The Gibson USA is much higher output than the r8. Not a bad sound but more “modern” sounding with the bigger low end and beefier output. For the classic sound, the r8 just does it better. That low output clarity and string definition doesn’t come out of the Gibson USA pickups….

Makes me nervous when you’re sitting with your guitar upside down

It doesn’t make me nervous in the slightest. My Daughter has been pulling out my guitars from the Racks and Stands since she was 5… I’m pretty sure I have more control over my guitars than she does. Although it does get a little unsettling when I come home and my 2 guitars that I paid $10,000 each are just lying on the studio floor. But other than that as long as she has fun. Cheers -Ryan

I damaged the finish of my gibson when i put an isoropyl alcohol to the potentiometer because its noisy.. it only needs a small amount of alcohol but i made mistake and the excess alcohol reach on the maple cap and create a blister or a swollen wood.. im so stupid..

Yikes that sucks! For potentiometers I only use Deoxit or contact cleaner spray. Gets right into the cavity of the potentiometer and dries itself after a few seconds. At this point though it’s just a war wound. Cheers -Ryan

We all make mistakes and we learn from them. The Deoxit that Crypticmaskguitar mentioned works well on electronics. I used it on my Fender amp controls that were crackling when turning them on and off.
