- For more than 60 years Fame Recording Studios, in Muscle Shoals, Ala., has hosted such artists as Aretha Franklin, Little Richard, The Rolling Stones and Demi Lovato. "Sunday Morning" producer Roman Feeser paid a visit to the music landmark.
I stopped by one Sunday on my way back home to South Carolina from Memphis about 20 years ago. I just sat in the parking lot for about 45 minutes thinking about all the talent that had been right there. If you weren't aware of what took place on that property you wouldn't believe it if someone tried to explain it to you.
I stopped at the Holiday Inn asking where I could find the studio and the desk person wasn't aware of what I was asking about. I finally got a lead from someone at the Wendy's.
There are a few documentaries on this studio out there worth watching because the history is simply priceless. Thank you CBS for going!
So glad this studio is around....we are losing alot of historic studios.
This is a must see place. Go in there and feel that energy. It's a laid back place on the river in a small part of Alabama that just has soul. Something we have lost over time.
It's not close to the river y'all don't lie lol it's cramped in traffics terrible you'll get a ticket and be stuck here for the rest of your life
Southern Rock was born there when a long haired hippie and a black man stayed in the studio during lunch(as they were not welcomed at the diner)and decided to cover a Beatles song..Hey Jude...Duane Allman’s guitar and the Wilson Pickett vocals are as great today as then🍻🇺🇸
