Ninja Nerds!
In this lecture Professor Zach Murphy will be presenting on the arterial supply to the brain, which is also referred to as the circle of willis. We are looking at this diagram in an inferior view and branch out from the internal carotid feeding the anterior portion of the brain, and the vertebrobasilar system which is supplying the posterior portion of the brain. Finally, we look at each artery that forms the circle of willis including the anterior cerebral artery, the anterior communicating artery, the middle cerebral artery, the posterior cerebral artery, and the posterior communicating artery. We hope you enjoy this lecture and be sure to support us below!

@Sergio Bueno yeah I was thinking about it, our professors just taught everything in 2 hours-lecture😱
Isn't RUclips amazing? Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much
I need all your knowledge in my head ASAP
Funniest comment😂 but must be torturing for zach!
You are legit the best RUclips teacher.
Yeah except that's the left and right cerebrum not cerebellum
@@JulioMartinez-pc8pc where in the video did he make this mistake?
@@JulioMartinez-pc8pc he was correct I think. There isn't a right and left cerebellum though.
@@JulioMartinez-pc8pc He was addressing them separately lol.
Ever heard of Dr Najeeb?
Or Dr john Cambel
I am so glad that you’re doing this for free. I am a medical student and believe me its so hard to find good videos about anatomy for free(cuz im broke). THANK YOU!
❤thank you so much 🎉
“op-H-thalmic” 😂😂😂 love it!!!! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and being so passionate about it!! Exactly what an exceptional teacher should be!
I laughed so hard.
Yess..it's so cute🤣❤
this is the comment i waz looking for🤣🤣🤣
I am in medical school right now, and I can tell you that you taught me more about the circle of willis in 8 minutes (i watched on double speed) than every professor I have had throughout my neuroscience block. Also watched all of the spinal tract lectures. This is absolutely incredible.
"I watched on double speed" - medical school status checks out lol.
Agreed. Though frankly I think this speaks more to how poor the systems are then anything.
i have started to give up on my teachers and just come here and learn from the best teacher everrrrrrrrrrrrrr! LOVE YOUUU SO MUCH AND SOOOO MUCH RESPECT.
I've come to the same conclusion. Being able to teach is a talent that most teachers do not have! Nevertheless we have to excel despite their inabilities. Thank god for youtube!
that how I got my degree tbh lol, good decision
Great job and knowledge man. Thanks so much!
b.t.w, I really LOL seeing you calling the arteries all these different names all the time: "guys" "suckers" "bad boys" but "puupies" was my best :-)
Many years studying medicine, and that's the best time I understood that part of the brain's vasculature! Fantastic work!!
11:32 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 u r so funny , I love u so much , thanks for the teaching , people on earth so happy to have u being here for us , these blood vessels are losers
I was looking for a comment that acknowledged that part! i laughed so hard hahahhahaha
Looking for this moment lol!
you are literally the most perfect and knowledgeable teacher with a smooth sense of teaching. you are great bro

Are you human..I’m not joking like how do you have this much knowledge . Are you a doctor..phd student ..lecturer ..alien..what😂😅😰. Anyways whatever you are keep doing it..amazing videos❤️
🤔🤔🤔🤔
🙄🙄🙄
😃😃.....I got it....he is an aalien😁
They worked really hard other than just studying to put together and plan this video
@@Zetsuke4 total agrees, to be able to teach and being just understanding the knowledge is totally different.b
I need to know Also cause this man is amazing
You are soo amazing!!!! Such a life saver! I really appreciate your enthusiasm and how clear and simple you make everything! Wayyyyy better than reading from a textbook, which half the time they make it unnecessarily complicated and boring lol. Thank you very much! Love ALL your videos!
This has been the most efficient, thorough and easy to understand explanation I have ever seen. People either make it too convoluted or don't explain it sufficiently at all. You definitely have the talent of teaching. Wish every professor did.
OMG! Are you a Doctor, Scientist or what? Love your classes!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
👍👍🖒
He is a physician
This topic displays typical Anatomical problem students face - details and it takes a passionate professor to walk through maze of details without losing students along the way. You have done an amazing job. Thank you!
Thank you!!! I was supposed to learn this in one day for my Biomedical Master's program. After studying the textbook for 2 hours straight, I was still confused. After 15ish minutes, everything is clear. Thank you so much!!
You've actually made everything clear and simple..... You're Awesome
Thank you so much! You know SO much and you make it easy to follow. I have a big exam tomorrow that includes the Circle of Willis so I'm grateful to you for making this!
You are amazing.. Thank you so much... Keep it up 🤘
Thank you so much for this breakdown! Wish all my lecturers had this same passion and easy going teaching manner that you do. Things would've definitely stuck faster that's for damn sure. Fantastic work :)
This is a spectacular video. My only wish is that you had gone over the MCA segments since this is such a common region for occlusions. Either way, good work.
What do u mean by MCA?
@@praiseohunenigbin6639 Middle cerebral artery
Y'all are saving my life. I am currently doing my third year of med school and I love the amount of detail you put into your video content. Keep doing the great work that you do. Sending love all the way from South Africa, stay cool!
Thank you so so much! I have an Anatomy exam on Tuesday and you literally saved my life!)

In 2 more years I will be proud to say I graduated from the Ninja Nerd College of Medicine
"p-HOU-sterior" 🤣 thank you doe for explaining this, hundred times better than what im paying for!
Great video! Thanks a lot. One question though regarding the orientation of the spinal cord. Isn't it supposed to be represented upside down? The ventral horns should be on top right?
Hello dr
Where is the Hypophyseal artery (to pituitary gland).in the diagram?
labryrinthine artery is a branch of anterior inferior cerebellar artery is'int?
labryrinthine artery supplies internal ear and it accompanies the facial and the vestibulocochlear nerve into the internal acoustic meatus. THANKYOU anyway.
It's a major anatomical variation, it can arise from either arteries depending on the person 😊
