those are my 2 favorite picks for the Spurs at 8, so this comp is very interesting to me !

Cody der has NBA skills day 1. He shoots 70% at the rim and he's a solid defender. Saluan is more of a question mark imo

Would have been interesting to add work ethic in factor for your discussion. I know Salaün has a very competitive spirit and crazy work ethic. So he's likely to make progress at an above average pace.
I have no clue about Cody Williams though, haven't heard anything about that yet

I agree I think both will need at least two years of G League and maybe 3 years of development

i like the show.. the specific comp isn't fair... one is extremely raw vs one with a high skill floor. Salaun has more work to do to become a rotation player. Cody will have a head start for that reason without having to go further.

I think that you will never be able to judge european players if you don’t understand the difference between the french league and college basketball ( especially no a day).
In France, the young prospect are not “ the star” of there team. They have to follow up the plan decided by the coach and the veteran players.
In college they have to shine to be drafted. This is a huge difference.
This is why european players are has low creativity but much higher progression ceiling.
So from me, if you want a superstar, take the college player, if you want a role player take the european one.
But dont forget that there is 10 role player for one superstar.

      1. I disagree. Look at the superstars in the league. Many never played in college
      2. The draft is always upside driven. Role players are easy and cheap to acquire. They are important but are worth 5% of what a superstar is worth so if you have a 10% chance at a superstar and a 80% at role player, take the 10% chance.

Salaun has higher motor, higher confidence, taller, NBA ready body, higher free throw percentage 83%. And has no injury history.
