Are we talking ham, bacon, or spam? I'm suddenly hungry 🤔.... Anyway, I would heat up bacon first, enough to render some fat. Then sear and dry out some diced pineapple in the bacon fat, medium heat so you don't burn too much of the sugar. If you want tomato sauce, throw in a teaspoon right at the end to glaze the pineapple. If you skip the sauce, and/or get your heat really right, you can then throw (a bit less than usual amount of) butter in the pan-- i.e. Pineapple bacon butter? 😮-- otherwise clean out the pan, use fresh butter and sammich as usual. Think I'm gonna go buy some pineapple now....
Everything’s looks so tasty, now I make some myself. It’s crazy how all of them are so cheap. But I like how the “best” was the cheapest one xD Well, congrats for getting recognized
The price/value in Vietnam really is incredible. And I've definitely noticed a trend that the best foods are almost always the cheapest ones eaten on plastic stools!
Hope you end up coming to Brazil, so you can, at least, do a grilled chese sandwich with cheese bread, and taste even other amazing kinds of culinary native to Brazil, and also things from other countries we adapted and evolved, like hot dogs and pizzas!
I noticed that Eastern people don't often pick up their bows to eat, but in Vietnam it's entirely different. The reason why you kinda have to crawl on the ground is because the short table and stool are cheep and you can just pick the bowl up if you're too tall. This is mostly because of the way Vietnamese culture promote efficiency after 1945 (I read that they promoted everyone to drop Ao Dai because in the industrial age Ao Dai is too clunky and unfit with the atmosphere the country is heading too (this is from Wiki, not too creditable)). So, when you're in Vietnam, just eat the way you see most convenient, unless you're having fancy meals in restaurant with important individuals (But then again, if you do, the restaurant will prepare tableware comfortable enough for you to not have to pick anything up).
One of the problems that may keep me from visiting Vietnam are the short chairs and tables. Would be the only thing keeping me away, unless I want to skip street food. I am 6 foot 1, with a bum knee and ankle. Seriously, I'd have to drop down on the ground to get standing back up. Hands on the ground, and all.
@tanikokishimoto1604 yeah I'm 6' and it's a bit of a process getting close enough to the table to eat sometimes. It's certainly do-able though, and it's 100% worth it because the street food is so good. I had a tour guide ask me "do you know why the tables and chairs in vietnam are so small?" I thought about it for a few seconds thinking there was some sort of clever life hack or something, but I didn't come up with anything so I just said " no, why?" Then she responds and says "because the people in Vietnam are very small" Like yeah... but I figured there was going to be a better reason 😂
Homeschooled baby so I can watch it sorry for those who are in public school but anyway chef Tyler I really want you to make this and I've been wondering for months it's called the red dragon grilled cheese sandwich it has Italian bread butter optional slices of pepper jack crushed up sweet and spicy chili Doritos cayenne onion powder garlic powder and black pepper

I'm jeaous! Yeah it's very expensive in the US because I don't think it grows anywhere nearby. In a lot of places you can only find lemongrass paste in a tube, and it's just not as good.
@Chef__Tyler I see, maybe that's also the case with coconut, I wonder why some people hate it when they're that delicious, turns out they've been eating coconut flakes instead of a fresh one, and here I am marking shops who open the coconut a hour before they sell it as to be avoided

Thank you!! It tastes like any other fatty piece of pork, but the big difference is in the texture. It usually has a very soft and almost jello-y texture because of all of the collagen in the skin. I know that might not sound delicious right now, but it's really good in a soup. 😊
