  • One of my friends has a pair of headphones that had wooden ear cups. I thought they looked really cool so I thought it would be cool to make some better wooden headphones for my self. I think they turned out fantastic!

    These turned out so awesome.
    You should look at putting what kind of wood and what products you're using as you go through the process!

    nice work dude :D .. trying to replicate your work, but i suppose i would not glue the cable inside the arc and maybe i'll curve the wood before gluing all togheter. PS: for the pads, glue some velcro on the wood (hooks) and the loops on the pads. So when you need to replace them, you can strap them off ...

    • @KuipersAdventures
      @KuipersAdventures  Год назад

      Good luck with your build! The velcro is a great idea! im going to be building a couple more sets of headphones soon, they will have the headphone jacks in both earcups to eliminate the need for wires though the headband. I hope to have videos out on them in the next month or so.

    That's awesome.
    I have those 20$ bluetooth headphones that I really like - given that I'm not an audiophile, move a lot, and do not like to spend too much in gear.
    But one year later the cups are destroyed, the headband is cracked, and hey, I got a frickin' lathe for my birthday.
    So I thought I'd google "DIY wooden headphones" and find plenty of videos... None. Only crappy earbuds.
    And a few month later, I thought "hey, let's google that again" and here comes your video...
    I don't have the tools for the headband so I'll see what I can do, but your video is solid gold to me. Kudos!

      I'm glad it helped you out! I have everything coming to try to replicate a $2000 pair of headphones and I'm also working on a design that anyone should be able to make with a jigsaw and a couple clamps. If you have any questions about the head band message me on Facebook and I can try to help you out.

      I do have a discord as well if you use that other wise I'm fine with making a huge comment thread here too! If your just getting into woodworking a small table saw is a great tool if you have the room for it.

    Duuuuuude! I can't remember the last time I watched an entire youtube video start to finish, but that was cool. I had never even contemplated building my own. I have a set I use regularly that have 50mm drivers on them and I actually have them amped, your 40mm's might need an amp to really make them sing, you decide to build some more at some point in time it might be a fun challenge to try and do an open can headphone like Phillip Fidelio X2's (what I use) the sound stage improves a TON. Those headphones are seriously cool, hats off to you sir.

      I can't speak for any of the Apple products but for the $50 I have into these I don't think there's anything that could touch them quality wise. The next pair I make I'm going to try to get to a headphone reviewer to see how they stack up against some real high dollar stuff.
