That's one of the reason we prefer, in France, playing with one Loader + 2 pods in our XBall format. More moves, less "blocking lines", more fun with that limitation.
As someone who started playing in the 90's it's nice to see mech make a comeback. I feel like it was when they allowed ramping that killed off the fun. Before a semi Electro might be a little faster but you could still compete with a mech. But when you suddenly had 2-3 guys shooting at you 20+bps it sucked. I don't know about modern mechs, but the old Automag lvl10 x-valve probably was the best anti-chop bolt made bitd. It is probably on par with a eye system.
Been playing since 1998 here. I couldn't have said it better. We cut our teeth with Spyders, Automags, and Autocockers. It was so much fun and we learned how to play. Watching NXL with ramping is boring. Seeing a guy shooting ropes down a lane with one finger isn't fun to watch. I still watch my old NPPL dvds for entertainment. Those players learned to play mech paintball first then applied to the electro guns. Who doesn't like watching Chris Lasoya run down the tape and shoot 3 guys to end a game. Thanks Madman.
Started by playing paintball around 1997 and although I saw my first angel on the field in 1998 I didn't convert over to electros till 2003 when I was in college and picked up an Adrenalin Impulse (man do I still love that marker to this day). Don't get me wrong I still have a blast playing with my electric markers but at times they almost feel like cheating. So I have spent most of my playing time since 2007 shooting one of my 2 Black Magic autocockers or even playing with my Phantom. However just picked up an extremely lightly used Adrenaline Shocker and I'm absolutely in love. It came with both matching anno electric and mech frames and weighs considerably less then the autocockers especially when playing all day.
Eyes for mechs exist! Magfed may be niche but a company (with a mixed past) called MCS makes "lok bolts" for many magfed guns. The idea is simple, a little catch on a spring stops the bolt if a ball isn't pressing it out of the way. They have one for the MG100, not an emek but close, it proves the concept works. I come from magfed but autocockers are what got me into hopper fed play. I loved them so much I went and got a mech WGP Karnivor, cockers are often compared to old school muscle cars and I agree-fun feel, cool looks, customizable.
+1 to this I still main my Automag 68, a return to mechanical domination is all I ever wanted and it's been great seeing it start to come true over the past couple years
We need a group B for paintball. If you don't know what group B rally is look it up. Also the return of pump. I got into pump almost right after getting into the sport and I have a hell of a fun time. As well as the skills ive learned along the way
Mech is fun, rewarding, and generally more interesting. One thing I’ll mention… As a player for a bit of time one thing I’ve learned and appreciate is the character of certain markers. An emek with upgrades shoots really well, points really well, handles paint really well, is open bolt so no real need to underbore, shoots quickly when up’d and is seemingly the perfect rec marker. It’s boring though. I love lending mine out to friends cuz I know it’ll shoot great for them and they’ll have an awesome time. The character and nostalgia of a well tuned cocker and good paint is hard to beat for me. I keep coming back to them. I prefer the character of shot over the emek, any mag, and other high end markers. I’ll also mention pump in this. I’m not a pump player, but at the end of the day when paint is low and I still want to play, having a pump gun is clutch, still exciting and very much fun. Pump is very revealing though, you find out where your weaknesses are very quickly.
Haven't touched an electro in...forever. Emek is just so awesome. I had the M170R with hair45 valve, shot it in the back yard, thought it was really cool and wow it can rip but.....I just prefer the Emek at the end of the day. Currently my only marker. I love pump too, but have gone all minimalist with the one marker since it's really all I need right now. Been playing a long time, I've never used anything that feels as good as this marker. No need for aftermarket valves and what not. An adjustable trigger and lighter spring are plenty.
Yea I was a back player for four seasons and it got boring….I sold most of my electro’s and now play mostly mechanical. People are coming out of retirement for mech, and it’s putting more fun back in the sport.
This video is exactly what I have been thinking for a bit I enjoy playing mech vs electro. Thank you for always making these videos this has made my day 🥳🥳🥳🥳
Question: have you ever tried to play Magfed Paintball? A few of my teammates and I have played a couple of times with our magfed markers on a speedball field and loved it so far!
I want to! Haven't had the chance yet. MagFed is a little difficult to get going in my country, but there definitely are players who are into the niche.
I got my first Automag 3 months ago. I know have a Minimag and a Xvalve mag as well as 3 high end Autocockers and one that I built from the ground up. My CS2 is collecting dust. Might end up selling it to grab a nice Inceptions Design's Cocker since I already have a FF and ST one.
I switched from ramping to semi a few years ago .. Instead of throwing a ton of paint at someone .. i want to hit and make every shot count.. so much more fun.
it's not about rate of fire, but rather sustained rate of fire. Try sustaining 10+bps to lock a lane for an entire x-ball round with a mech marker. If you can do it, you've certainly earned that.
Yeah! Lol, I loved that store, the guys there are great (the hat is also great for having a focus reference for my camera because it has words and netting)!
As bad as modern x-ball/speedball is for the novice to watch. Woodsball is even worse, people in camouflage playing hide and seek, in the woods, we where never going to get spectators or media coverage playing that. We needed to move out from the woods to get some kind of visual enticement to attract new blood to the sport. I played through the 90's, in the woods, that's my love, that's my game, but we needed to move out....I'm glad that mech play and woodsball are still a thing, i'm over weight, and over 50, that power ranger malarkey, you young'uns, can go enjoy that, i'll just watch.
Maybe I'm just the exception to the rule but I took a 6yr break from playing but kept watching gosports because pro paintball is entertaining to me. Especially once your invested in the story lines of the players & teams. Prefer watching nxl over traditional sports.
I would go a step further and say pro Paintball should be openclass pump. If you have ever played or watched a pump tournament there is way more movement and for the casual viewer pump looks a lot more skillful.
Im fine with current format stayed but team go to 7man and the fields get larger and don't add so many man size or smaller bunkers everywhere, hell bring back the car wash bunker. would also add more movement nppl style fields(longer fields thenxl) we're a lot more fun to watch because there was more movement in players took more risks only thing i didnt like was the capture the flag keep nxl rules but best of five
The chicks that make chess content are way hotter than chicks that play paintball. Chess chicks make way more $. Paintball chicks seem like theyd vote for Trump a second time.
PREACH, my friend.
mech is the way
Miss the paintball vids !, great content always. cheers
The Madman has the best paintball videos out there. Waaaayyyyy underrated.

Mech is and always will be the best paintball

Mech is great, but semi uncapped with 7man is the best way to play paintball!
Modern xball encourages learning the layout as opposed to learning to play.

everything you said in this video is why I want to get an Automag at some point
Update cause nobody cares. I bought an Automag, so begins a dive into the cult classic.
+1 to this

Welcome back.
Been back for a few months! RUclips maybe just isn't you the stuff, lol. Happy to see you check-in

Can you part out an Autococker? Half the fun is building one.
Love to see a mech comparison video! Loved your past ones.
I've wanted to do it, man! It's on the bucket list.
An easy stop gap would be NXL US adopting the EU limited paint constraints. 4 pods and a loader. Go gett'em champ.
You’re 100 % right (but sadly young player don’t understand that and prefer complaining about how expensive paintball is…)
What about ultimate shootout?
you're in luck. planet eclipse just released a mech frame for the cs2.
HES BACKKKKKKKKKK
This video is exactly what I have been thinking for a bit I enjoy playing mech vs electro. Thank you for always making these videos this has made my day 🥳🥳🥳🥳
Where is the new video bro!
get rid of the electric assist hopper and the rest will sort itself out.

@@JustCantGetRight professionals will always be the ones doing this. I don’t think the game would change much in the competitive scene.
@@xDerDerx I think you'd be surprised. The ICC is just a hint of how much more dynamic matches could get.
I miss the old mech Auto Cockers
Wooo madman
Once you go mech you´ll never go back. Except for eblade cocker´s they are also fun to shoot.
ayy also saw that Marks outdoors hat!
Yeah! Lol, I loved that store, the guys there are great (the hat is also great for having a focus reference for my camera because it has words and netting)!
u should try pump

What about semi auto ? Where i play no ramping amazing video !
uncapped semi 300fps everything else is nerf
fax

Great video, what's your reddit handle?
I don't have one... yet... since PBN unfortunately seems to be fading out that might just be where I end up.
The chicks that make chess content are way hotter than chicks that play paintball. Chess chicks make way more $. Paintball chicks seem like theyd vote for Trump a second time.
innit
🤙🏼
Mech is bleh. Slow paced
X-ball= many pew + slow paced
Mech ball= few pew + high speed low drag moves
