I applaud your history series. It is important to understand where we started, it gives us a real appreciation the developments and people who laid the foundation of motorcycling. Tremendous effort on your part is appreciated and recognized by true motorcyclists.
Excellent, simply excellent. I started watching this but my quickshifter kit arrived at my door one minute into the show. Yet I couldn't stop watching it. Now it's off to the shed.
I’m raised and born in the city where the first 4stroke internal combustion engine (liquid pressurized) was successfully invented and BUILT- Cologne, Germany. And there is one thing I’d like to add in this Video. You mentioned Maybach and Daimler as inventors of the first motorcycle which is fine to me but not the person behind the invention more or less, Nikolaus August OTTO, most of today’s 4stroke engines are referred to as OTTO cycle engines. When he started trying to built engines he failed a lot and stopped several experiments due to lack of money. Only thing Daimler and Maybach did was to help him with the penny problem. Daimler refused to pay OTTO money for his patented invention and hired lawyers, resulting in Nicolaus Otto losing some of his patents. I believe that that the success of Daimler AG came from that move, but it’s sad the world forgot about Otto. But I love anything else about your documentary, very nice as always ✌🏻
In America they raced from Chicago to Evanston in 1895. The Chicago Times Herald Race. It appears you've missed as much info as you have gathered. Look into Tandem Motor Pacer, very interesting.
Terrific film! You should visit Barbers Motorsport Museum in Birmingham, Alabama. It is the greatest display of motorcycle history on earth and they have created some very interesting installation displays highlighting board racing, roadracing, drag racing, dirt track and motocross. It’s truly a Mecca for motorcycle enthusiast. As a wonderful bonus they also have a remarkable collection of Lotus cars; the entire facility I’d first class and breathtaking, there isn’t another race course or facility like it on earth.
Is it 1 of 2 and 2 of 2, I have looked for 3-4-5 but can’t find them.. Well thank you for the quality Wk you did on 1 and 2. Excellent content, Good stuff!! Disappointed there’s not 3 more!!
Ahhh man... was waiting for a little Aside on how BICYCLE racing influenced all his! And the bicycle that was able to out preform motor racing up until the turn of the century.... weak! still giving you a thumbs up
@@MikeonBikes Cool! I visited Husqvarna Museum if you like you can use footage anyway you like from my visit there, check my playlist "Classic swedish motorcycle brand Husqvarna, Husaberg and Monark" the first 2 videos on the playlist.
Thank you so much for all your effort in researching all of this incredible interesting information, this was so incredibly interesting especially I've been motorcycle and Rider since I was about 10 years old, I am 60 and I am still love the ride, looking forward to the next four instalments... keep the rubber down, cheers...
Really good documentary! You should copyright it and moneyterize it! Especially after seeing some of the really dumb stuff that we've all seen that was moneyterized! ==== Learned some interesting stuff from this - - the first motorcycle in 1885, and that the Isle of Man had car races before the motorcycle races. Also I didn't know it started as soon as 1907. Also didn't know the first non pedals motorcycle was out in 1915.
My Grandfather Gordon Richards, raced TT pre-WW1 and as a hydrolic and gas engineer, was selected as an observer-courier to report on Zeppelins in Germany. We have a photo of him in civilian dress and his bike, can't determine the make. The photo is labeled "Black Forest '16"
I appreciate all the time and effort you put into this video. But it seems your channel keeps switching on what it’s tryna be and I don’t mind but it affects how many views you get and how much it grows.
Appreciate the feedback, my videos are always about motorcycles in some way form or fashion. I started the channel with a pure focus on riding technique, but I do not want to do videos that are only about that. That is why I'm making one video about it to cover everything that I think is relevant to the subject. My most popular videos to date are on GP racing, so if my only goal was to expand I could switch to just cover MotoGP. But that wouldn't be much fun. I don't feel like trying to hit a niche just to grow the channel. I'm going to continue to do videos about motorcycles generally, and I hope they match what people want to see.
The MURDER-DROME!!! sounds so... so ... murderous. But then again, being that one of the racers with my namesake took out a bunch of spectators, and himself... the name tends to fit the bill. 100mph on a bicycle with an engine bolted to it, ridden on a wooden high embankment track soaked in oil, with nails and splinters poking out of it... can you imagine?
Waiting for next episode.... Part 1 was awesome
Yeah me too that was AWESOME
Dude, this is so well done, props for all the hard work you're putting in on this.
Thanks schr4nz!

How is it that Simon Nipper is not the patron saint of motorcyclist? The Kawi H2 should be called the 'The Nipper 1000'!
Dsherman ingineering at it again 😉
I did some club racing with Bempsey club in 1998.wonder if it’s the same club you mentioned.
Great doc. JMO, I would over-dub the audio from inside your helmet. It gets considerably quieter at those points. Audio should be consistent.
Motorcycle racing history 1 > 5
Hey Mike are you still doing the vlog I can't find any on RUclips
I am a year late, but damn what road in northern California did you film your riding segments...
the first speeding ticket could have been given in Birmingham uk as there is a road called Bristol road its big and straight
That sure looks like Hollister OHV
Jim Goose approved.
Looking for P2 !
big up bemsee
Hey my friend, when the next episode will come?
Never been done before? What about "Castrol History Of Motorcycle Racing" 3 DVD set released in 1992?

Does anyone know the name of the first black man to win an organized professional motorcycle race and any additional information about the race event?
First combustion engine ran on gun powder years before the steam engine
You get around, Hellyer Velodrome?
Oh yea, says so right in the corner of the screen
Wow
Did anyone else see a face in the tall guys shirt at 10:20 ?
