It's impossible not to love Yorkshire !!! And even if they have no clue where it is , no matter where in England you go they always can tell your accent it's ace! X
Thank God you're back Ms. Bongo, we were getting quite lonely taking on the interweb by ourselves. Cheers to our good friend and our long standing alliance - VAME
Jesus that accent is amazing! I'm from Australia and I'm moving to England in the next few years. Yorkshire's where I'll head because your accents is soooooo hot! Keep up the good work mate!
Never tone it down. Don't be ashamed of it. Be proud of your accent, be proud to be different :) I'm from London/Kent but I've got family from North Yorkshire and its like a second home to me. I love the accent :)
You really need to be doing voice-overs for Disney. I used to think Kelly Macdonald had the nicest accent, however after hearing yours I just can't decide. It's really nice to listen to.
Dang, I'm from Texas and you blew my mind with the part about shutting the door. My wife is from York and I needed something like that to blow her mind with. I need to practice that to shock her with. Thanks.
Love got a great accent, most of my family is fromYorkshire, be it 200 or more years ago. You have a great sense of humor, bet we could keep each other laughing for hours.
I do love the culture , love your hair ( I've had rainbow) and also love your accent - thanks for the videos ! I'll try to remember what you taught in this video ! I've got a friend who wants to learn the accent
Love your vid, luv! Lived in N. Yorkshire for 6 years. Miss the accent, but I still have me Yorkshire Tea! Keep making videos so I don't forget what it sounds like!
Leeds style Lovin' It; This make me miss Sheffield, also I never realized entitle I moved how different South & North Yorkshire accents can sound. My Yorkshireness has been slipping, this has been a lovely refresher.
Umpteenth-generation Canadian here... but after some digging, found that I have roots in the villages near the south end of the Yorkshire Dales. This is how my relatives talk?! (Kidding, kidding... it's lovely, I swear.)
Mun was a Yorkshire lass, and a bonny one too. Dad is swiss, so English happens to be my "mother-tongue". How nice and refreshing you are, Luv'! Ta, and tara'.
This video was AWESOME!, i love to see a gorgous northern lass drinking a jug of gravy! brilliant!.... You forgot to mention keith lemon as one of the famous blokes from your neck of the woods lol
omg when you said that one about the shutting the door i literally was like what. what the hell i cant understand. hahah im sorry but i love your accent
@GoAlybongo Please do! We love your accents and your sayings over here in America. It's funny how everyone in the U.K. thinks their own particular accent is crap compared to everyone elses but we are really fascinated by them over here. Greetings from California! : )
Studied at Hull Uni on Exchange last year and all i can say is i Love Northern Girls and Esp. the ones with Yorkshire Accents... Thanx for posting this vid and i cannot wait to go back and visit hahaha =D Cheers Love... x
I played Charlotte Bronte last year in my practical A-level exam. Took me months of talking solidly in a Yorkshire accent in every day conversation in order to get it right and then I couldn't stop for months after... O.o It's catchy.
I've been correcting every joke I hear Southerners make about us from Yorkshire mispronouncing the word 'the' as 'tuh' by pointing out that we don't even use the word. Finally, someone else says the same!
Proud to have a strong Leeds accent, it's one of the greatest accents around. One thing I'd say, Ee-arr is more like "Here" than ooooh. Ee-arr lass = here lass not ooh lass :) Also the best thing to say in a Yorkshire accent is "It isnt in the tin" = Tintintin, do it!!
Epic hair is epic. Accents are always fascinating, but not as fascinating as a good bitter ale. Are there ever any Bisto/Goldenfry turf wars? I imagine them hilariously dueling it out with ladles.
As a Yank to me most of the British accents pretty much blend into each other, I have to really pay attention to notice the differences. Only the really distinct accents like the one Imelda May speaks I can see a difference even though I can barely understand her. It's so cute when she speaks.
Lol my Mum used to call me AllyBongo when was a kid, still does sometimes haha. And it would be funny if some one heard Radebe and thought "he doesn't sound Yorkshire...".
Yorkshire is my FAV UK accent. Considering that I am from NZ and my UK fam are Geordies, I just love how the Yorkshire accent sounds. I was also told that Leeds hold the best people in the UK. I tend to agree :o)
You should probably add that the towns and cities of Yorkshire have got different accents as well. Leeds & Bradford have got similiar accents, whereas Sheffield, Barnsley etc have got considerably different accents.
You are an absolute hero for drinking all that gravy! :L and i love the Yorkshire accent with a burning passion, and you're at Huddersfield! one of my fav bands are from there (Evile). I'm from Aberdeen so i can have fun when down south by speaking broad Aberdonian (see Son McGuffin from Pixar's "Brave" for an example) so i know the advantage of having an accent which is a totally different language :L
Yorkishire makes me think of Game of Thrones or other northern fantasy universes. Because Sean Bean. It sounds so cool I want to sound like that. You could insult me in that accent and perfectly get away with it I'd still love you xD
Haworth is bloody lovely! Keighley isn't bad tbh, but yeah the town centre is best ignored (if you go public transport to haworth, I suggest the steam train from Keighley train station)
if you found that confusing wait till you learn that depending on which part of yourshire ur in (north, east, south or west) the accent slightly changes and so do alot of the slang that is used. xx
The Yorkshire accent is my absolute favorite English accent. You are so charming!
It's impossible not to love Yorkshire !!! And even if they have no clue where it is , no matter where in England you go they always can tell your accent it's ace! X
It must feel awesome having 20,070 fans. You deserve twice that amount. You are amazing to watch!
Thank God you're back Ms. Bongo, we were getting quite lonely taking on the interweb by ourselves. Cheers to our good friend and our long standing alliance - VAME
Yeah, "put the wood in the hole" means something a bit different here in the USA...
Jeremy Kiahsobyk lol
I'm from a different part of Yorkshire to her and never heard that saying before.
I like your accent. In fact I am watching your videos because I have to do a Yorkshire accent for a play I'm doing at college haha.
Love it! I was born in Leeds but moved to Canada when I was 11. I love listening to Yorkshire folk talk, even though it makes me homesick :(
I'm from West Yorkshire and we pronounce our 'o' like 'o' instead of 'oeh'
its good to see decent videos from people in the UK, from lancashire myself and i really enjoyed this vid

Very good tips.
It took me quite a while to modify my 1970s Bradford accent to get around Los Angeles.
HA! Adorable. Fell in love with that Midlands accent when I first saw Kate Rusby (Barnsley) in Chicago!
your hair is on fire!
I scrolled all the way through and a not single Jon Snow comment. I'm impressed.
Threee Words Bongo:
Book, Look, Duck.
Loving the pint chugging skills, vids as awesome as ever x
Not gonna lie, I came here mainly because I'm studying the Yorkshire accent for a musical I'm doing, but I really enjoy your stuff.

Mun was a Yorkshire lass, and a bonny one too. Dad is swiss, so English happens to be my "mother-tongue". How nice and refreshing you are, Luv'! Ta, and tara'.

i love her accent! she is so right!
Thank you. Trying to master the accent for an audition. Think you would make a great CBBC presenter. Naturally energy and presence.
Aside from you fantastic video, your room is beautiful-- particularly the wall color, wall art, and moldings!
Your accent is quality! I'm from the Midlands but I love the Yorkshire accent :)
