    Enjoyed this episode with Annesley, Rukshan. Looking forward to the proposed grand musical concert to be held in 2022 and I’ll be able to watch it live. I still recall the happy memories during the Super Golden Chimes’s tour to Dubai in 2015. Wish you all the best for your program Rukshan. George

    I was in the audience at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium Live Concert when you all of Super Golden Chimes started your session with 'Bohemian Phapsody' stealing the limelight surpassing all exclusive English top bands at that time.It was THE song of the concert. True, all members had a part it to sing. What a rendition with you maestro Rukshan in the main vocal spot. Fond memories indeed.(Btw, I had come all the way from Badulla with my late Bro to see this concert).

      Hi Rohan, Happy to hear that you were there to witness what he had discussed on the program. Yes, Clarence was so happy to do Bohemian Rhapsody and surprise audiences! Not only he was a genius in his Sinhala compositions, but he was all out to explore new things and gave us the green light to do such songs!

    Fantastic chat with two great SGC idols. Brought back wonderful memories. I couldn’t stop laughing for some of the stories. Bet you two can go on and on of the past memories. SGC best band ever. We were lucky to listen to the music. Action your harmony was and that memorable song Bohemian Rhapsody” no Srilankan will challenge you. Great to remember all the band boys with happy memories. Long May live SGC boys. Sad we lost the leader The Greatest of all Legendary Clarence Wijewardana. Also Kumar. Looking forward for the next chapter Annesley. Please let the world know early, so that we can travel to Colombo on time. Thank you very much for both of you. Many Thanks Rukshan for your initiative of this program, awaiting for the next visitor into your piano studio. බෑ රාජ්. ඩිස්කා. Never forget those jargons. Just a thought, what about a reunion in London?

      Hi Jiva, Glad you caught on to Baa Raj, Action and Diska!! haha! So happy you enjoyed and that this episode brought back wonderful memories of the SGC. There were TOO MANY stories to tell, but not enough time for all. Will certainly keep you informed of the next episode and the next concert. Thanks

    Thanks for sharing all these great memories with us. It’s truly inspiring to see how all these great musical groups started and how all the members grew to become icons in Sri Lanka’s music industry. I couldn’t stop laughing for Sri Kantha’s Stories. Well done Rukshan a great interview and a standing ovation from me.

    Great work Mr. Rukshan. It is better if, rest of all you can get together and give us some great music as in 70s, and it will open a new path to the younger generation as well

    those songs are so nice with piano, very much like originals. ...today many newcomers try to imitate Clarence without piano or organ and more instruments used originally.. no one can come close to Clarence but try and practice many times as much to entertain the old version.. don't kill Clarence name ...

      There's a very good program done solely on Dixon and his guitar playing done by Rukshan Karunaratne. Dixon is always special and goes hand in hand with Clarence's songs. His contribution is well recognized by music fans.

    Mr. Rukshan I think after you left the group in 1977 or 78 for your US life, Clarance was collapsed mentally, discouraged and given up the Super Golden Chimes life. For him your separation could have been like a lost of one finger from his right hand.

      Sorry to hear this. Clarence was and will always be my hero. I learnt so much from him during my years with the Super Golden Chimes! What a genius. May his soul rest in peace!

    Lovely episode Rukshan. Thank you very much. When did Nimal Join the band as the drummer?. Why did Srikantha leave?

    • @RukshanPereralk
      @RukshanPereralk  3 года назад

      Somnas, To my recollection Nimal joined the band in 1975. Sri Kantha left because he decided to stop playing music and do a 9-5 job when the band was right on top.
