Thanks for all those years John, both at SRO and before, you're a legend and hope you enjoy whatever comes next. I still hope to bump into you at a race track one day.
I am saddened to hear that John Watson, one of my childhood idols, will not be around next year. I always looked forward to his commentary and insight. John, fair winds and following seas. You will be missed.
Oh that's no good...love John with his experience and sense of humour , will be missed big time on the commentary. I get it though travelling around the world like that in your late 70s can't be easy . He is a great commentator and was an even better driver ..an awesome talent in a car . Fingers crossed he'll maybe do the GB round 🤞🏼
@@simaddiction It's sad but it comes to all of us. I've noticed over the last couple of seasons his comments haven't had the, for want of a better word, *zest* of old. Nonetheless his experience and insight will be much missed. I hope they replace him with an ex-driver rather than a journalist.
@GT World. John Watson has provided us with some classic comments over his years working with SRO. A 'supercut' of some of his finest would be an appropriate tribute to all his hard work.
In a series as chock full of overtaking maneuvers as this one, it'll be a damn shame not to have the last-to-first master in the booth to talk about it. May the road rise up to meet you and may the wind be at your back, Watty.
This was a dream come true for me, to attend a gt race in my country. Thank you for all the drivers and organizers and all the people involved in this event for giving me and all the fans the chance to watch it live! I hope you come again!
Sad to hear John Watson gonna be leaving the commentary position after this season. I really enjoyed listening to him, he is very insightful, knowledgeable and charimastic. His sense of humour is also fun to listen to. It's gonna be very different without his voice from next season onwards. Whatever he is planning to do next in his life whether retiring or commentating some local series, i wish him the best of luck. Thank You John Watson for the 15 years in this GT World. Farewell.....😢
That final Safety Car was so unnecessary... the car was taken out of the track minutes before the SC came out. Epic season though! Thank you GT World and John!
@@giratina_86 Yeah, and it's total BS. FCY was meant to interrupt the race immediately if there was a dangerous situation, so they don't have to wait for everyone to catch the SC, or for short interruptions, so we don't need a SC at all and to not interfere with the gaps. But calling FCY after a car standing on track after 3 laps and than bringing out the SC like another 3 laps after the track is clear is just interrupting the race for longer for no reason. If they wanna continue like that, it should be FCY to immediately interrupt the race, but than bring out the SC earlier, so the race can be restartet after the track has been cleared
You could but it's not a good rule. It's too unfair. They need to change it so one can't serve penalties during FCYs or SCs like IMSA to make it a proper punishment.
Somebody could explain why in the first safety car the lapped cars were authorized to overtake the safety car and in the second one not? Finally why ferrari paid the penalty during fcy? For me is not fair.
This is a purpose built track. It is not a bonafide street circuit. There are elements of streets used, but it is a hybrid track a la Circuit de la Sarthe.
Not too keen on the over car graphics. Please show them less as they make the race look like a computer game. Awesome racing though and why GT along WEC are the best racing.
Nice race, but feel like the championship was totally engineered by the race director with that final safety car. Grasser robbed, attempto robbed, wrt robbed.
We still have the Race Leaders at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix here at the Final Round of the 2024 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe by AWS Sprint Cup!

John's commentary is one of the driven forces to why I became to love this sport so much. Such a genuine guy! Miss you John!
One of the best series in racing. My favorite 👍.

its a norm here, if the fcy is too long they bring the sc to rise temperatures
Had to allow the Ferrari get the 30 seconds back it had just served in the prior pitstop, otherwise no chance of title win.
@@valiance1030 no doubt... Ferrari needed to win so unnecessary the SC

John Watson bloody legend ⛳
Sad to hear that John Watson will no longer be calling SRO races. Always enjoyed your commentary and insights, John. Take good care.
I didn't know the #51 Ferrari was allowed to serve its 30 second penalty during FCY. I thought you couldn't do that. 🤷♂

WRT won this season. Fantastic.
The Americans/Germans/Italians have done it!
Ferrari double stacking: box, box, STAY OUT, STAY OUT!!! (too late) 🤣

track limits should not apply to street circuits
Track limits should apply if the track has sections where track limits can be abused. Which is the case on this track.
