Australian here. Re-used is good for purchasing, storage, disposal, routines, unreliable factory suppliers, etc.
Urine bags may be bed attached, lower leg, upper leg, or hung from belt, or other body straps.
Urine volume, color, chemicals might as also be needed, or useful to know. Personally still learning to self care in my geriatric life, here in Canberra (a small country town, reliant on e-commerce).
where are her gloves?
Exactly ,no PPE,not even any hand sanitizer!!😮
thanks for sharing.. from a girl trying to help her baby brother
Asking an old, frale, weak catheterized patient to re-use a night-bag that costs less than a diaper?? Why on earth, with the huge risks that we see with all catheterized patients, would you EVER run such a risk and mess around with something like a catheter bag? It is disposable...
Many places including retirement homes just rinse bags out with disinfectant and re-use them.
you can use them for a week
insurance coverage limits the number and its certainly possible to properly clean urine collection bags. I do like the two stage scheme of plugging the night bag into the output of the leg bag rather then fiddling with the foley changing whats plugged in.
While you mention rinsing it out, you do not show HOW to get the tap water into the tiny opening???????
Do not reuse a night bag - its asking for trouble
Peter Bell I have The leaf bag. should it not be reused?
If any doubt - do not - infections are plentiful .. Used a day bag and a night bag initially and had infections galore - finally using a valve .. no longer carrying my own urinal around with me
Wisdom states that plastic is bad in terms of cleanliness in terms of domestic cleaning for re-use .
and you are connecting a used unknown to what should be a clean environment .
Does not sit well with me .
They make to hose too tight. Need long enough to turn over without kinking.
You are not wearing gloves and the steps are not clear enough for people to see the ends of the tubes etc closing and opening u mentioned
By not wearing gloves, the risk of disease is greater for the nurse and not the patient. They may have had the nurse not use gloves so we can easier see what she is doing. Wish we could have a way of asking her to find out if she wears gloves where ever she works.
This link by the same site shows procedures for wearing gloves. I do need to carefully study it. The nurse here is wearing gloves, but shows other sanitation procedures. ruclips.net/video/KrEEHGaW2Gk/видео.html
After disconnecting the night bag, always give the end of the day bag's tube a wee wipe - there's always just a little bit of pee-pee still in there!
Forget the hygiene. If you struggle to detach them ,use your teeth
Thanks but you are not professional enough on it
Gloves!!!!!!!!
OK so don't bother using gloves or alcohol swabs. Glad she's not looking after me I'd have infections galore
