    Dude, I can tell you worked extremely hard on this track. The fact that you are not reading and have learned this from memory and feel is amazing. This has to be one of the hardest Basslines to learn from a synth track. What I loved was your groove, your feel, and your technique all working together. Your attention to the grace notes and where they land ,and of course playing with that band, some of the best players in America at the time. You would have made Arif proud, and i should know! Fantastic!!

    Superbly played! I just heard an interview with Henrik Linder where he mentioned this as one of his favorite basslines ever, so had to look it up. You play with great attention to detail and perfect time.

      Thanks! Henrik is A monster. 100 times more technical player than me. That said, fortunately it's not about competition. Dirty Loops released a full album just this year after their debut on 2014! Check it out, it's awsome! =D

    Kudos to your dedication, Klaus! Life really IS very short, and there's no time for fussing and fighting, but thankfully you made time for learning and sharing! I discovered this post only because I'm a Greg Phillinganes fan, who will attempt to perform this track with a very worthy band in New York named POWER!

    Signal chain runthrough plz?? :)

      Sorry for being such bad at following all the comments. Signal chain shortly explained: 5 string Ibanez SR goes to pedalboard, where active pedals are in order: Electro-Harmonix bass Micro synth -> Darkglass Hyper Luminar compressor (FET mode) -> Sans Amp bass driver di. (Interface is Motu828mk3 and DAW I work with Pro Tools.) That's literally all that there is. The rest is about precision, phrasing, and discovering how the Micro Synth routes the played notes and where to find the "sweetspot" for every lick from the fretboard, since the octaver behaves very differently depending on where you play the note from. In a nutshell, "know your gear". I hope this helped even a bit! =D

    Amazing work ! I was wondering if you had some transcription for it ? thank you

      @klaus-erikwirzenius4678  3 года назад +1

      Unfortunately not. Kinda bassline I figured is less work to immediately memorize just lick by lick than transcribe it and then learning to get rid of the sheets... 😅 But you’re not the first who asked so I’ll write a sheet out of that when I have the time and post it to this channel! 😺

      Tässä on itseasiassa vastaus yhdestä toisesta kommentista, kerta et ole ensimmäinen joka kysyy:
