Video about Foster the People. 80% of comments about Chester Bennington of Linkin Park. I mean, yeah, it's incredibly sad news, but this video has nothing to do with that.
Tom Rimmer they have a tone of hidden gems/bonus tracks as well though e.g. The Unforseeable Fate of Mr Jones, Chin Music For The Unsuspecting Hero, Ruby, Cassius Clay's Pearly Whites etc. Not too pointless. Even if they only had 10 songs it would still be interesting to see how Jon would rank them. But they have about 40.
Honestly Supermodel is mad under-appreciated. I love all three albums, but it is still my favorite. It's spiritual in that most of the songs start with some sort of philosophical premise in the title and lyrics, but also in the wide array of instrumentation. But anyway if I had to rank them I'd go: 1) Supermodel 2) Torches 3) SHC SHC is not bad by any means, but I will say it lacks a bit of the impact the other albums had on me.
Tom Rimmer I know, Doing It For The Money just isn't satisfying. It's like the chorus is kinda screaming brilliance but is stuck behind sound-absorbing walls and it's really annoying since I can't truly feel it.
Great review man. I love how Foster sings during I Love my Friends. He sings it like he doesn't care because if you look at the lyrics the friends in the song are assholes.
"All of my friends, they don't do any favors Unless they're partyin', then they got all of 'em" All of my friends, they blow all of the paycheck They got no money, because they're dumb and reckless"
My personal foster the People album list ranked best to worst (I love them all still lmao) 1. Supermodel 2. SHC 3. Torches Yes I know it is an unpopular opinion but it is mine
I agree Supermodel is their best album to date, I think john should give it another chance and really put an ear to tracks like the Truth, Goats in trees, Nevermind, Are you want to be, etc.
I can't believe you didn't know who Sid and Nancy were, but that's cool that you looked it up and do so much work and research when listening to music and prepping for a review. There's always more to learn. Props for your dedication.
Remove Static Space Lover from the least faves and add it to the favorites, but keep I Love My Friends where it is and you have my list. It's fine the way it is though, it's your opinion. I personally love Static Space Lover and all of your favorites.
I love this album. Been a fan of Foster the People for a while and I'm so glad I got to see them live. They're incredible. Mark Foster is brilliant and so cool
Supermodel was strong. It just wasn't a pop track that was overall upbeat. I personally think it's better than Torches from a maturity and overall instrumental standpoint.
Agree. Supermodel was a great sophmore album, seemed more "out there" compared to Torches. Torches was a really nice upbeat album, like you said, but it was definitely a more pop oriented album
For everyone saying do a reaction to Chesters dea... De... Death, (god, it's been 4 hours now and I'm still crying) 1st it's disrespectful to react to a death, just seems morally wrong. 2ed he's probably just as torn up as we are Also I haven't seen anything on lp Facebook page or Twitter yet. Do you have to have a account?
+Jan Wöhrle honestly.. he left 6 fucking kids..should we really feel this bad. Thats 6 kids who lost a father because of his selfish decision. 6. fucking. people. will grow up as those kids whose dad was a rockstar that took his own life.
A rockstar who saved thousands of lives through art. Sure it's awful for his kids, but he saved so many people from what he did. We should definitely feel this bad.
After waiting for a long long time, I have to say that, for me, it's a succes. It's a great album, a very good job, I feel proud of what FTP do. I think it's an smart proposal an amazing art work too on the cover of the album. AND It's better than Supermodel. Top 3: 1- SHC (Since III was launched, it's my favourite) 2- Sit next to me (clean song, conveys peace and harmony to the soul) 3- Static space lover (amazing chorus, very clean song too) Bottom: 1- Doing it for money (I listened to the begin: "just close your eyes" and IT'S A MESS! it's annoying! Maybe the lyrics are good, but is not pleasant to the ear.
Gawd Damn! I love these guys! I'm gunna rank the albums! (Worst to Best) 1. Sacred Hearts Club. 2. Supermodel. 3. Torches. (I love Sacred Hearts Club... But Supermodel is too special to me.)
I bet nobody is gonna even bother to like this comment but if you come across it here me out. Aside from all the comments about Chester, I'm glad to be watching a review about one of my favorite bands from someone who likes them. I recently watched another YUNO Review video from theneedledrop, who happened to basically say that the new album was bland with use of synthetics, only worse than before. As you can tell, he didn't really like the album. I'm not here to judge his tastes as these are his opinions. The problem I have is how he doesn't say anything at least a tiny bit positive. In one tweet before he put up the video he said it was listenable, which was the most positive thing about the album to say. In the video, however, he doesn't really seem to bother saying that either. He even said the ep before it in another video was at least a little admirable for what the band is trying to do, but he just simply brushed the whole album off like he couldn't bother to say at the very least it's admirable or listenable of FTP and their efforts. Even if he doesn't like them, which I can respect, I always hope to here him say something nice about it as well as other artists, only to be disappointed. What I'm saying is I'm lucky to find someone like ARTV who is a fan and tries to be positive about it. The album certainly is no masterpiece, but it's got its moments and ideas that connect to him. Basically, what I'm here to say is thank you ARTV for the review!
We all need to do our best to help Jon and all LP fans out through this time. They've had a devastating loss, and especially for someone like Jon who saw Chester as an idol and a voice to find comfort in. Give them any help you can
HEY MAN GET AWAY FROM ME CHOO CHOO I love this album so much. Ftp is my favorite band and they didnt let me down. I have a lot to say about it but I dont feel like typing it all out. Goodnight.
I don't want to spoil anything to myself but I know it's gonna be sooo god. I went last week to the concert in BCN and they just made me see in live that is going to be as good as Torches. I'm so excited for tomorrow to be able to buy it finally!😄
I have nothing amazing to say about the album that's already been said. However I love how they still were able to retain their sound, even though they switched up with different genres and things like that in this album. This is possibly one of my favorite foster the people albums.
The CD booklet doesn't have all of the lyrics. It has the art that FTP have been posting on their Twitter and Instagram and it has the song credits. The art for Time To Get Closer and Loyal Like Sid & Nancy do have all of the lyrics from the song on them though.
Personally, I see this album as a way for Mark and the rest to experiment. For instance, Loyal like Sid and Nancy had an electric, dubstep tune if you will. I personally didn't like the song due to the beat however I saw more people enjoy Lotus Eater, which is my favorite on this album due to the guitar/bass which I hope to see more of as the band grows. I Love My Friends gave me a Don't Stop vibe but the lyrics weren't the best. Those are my personal thoughts.
the songs I like the most are: 1.static space lover 2. doing it for the money 3. loyal like sid and Nancy 4. SHC 12.pay the man. ( i cant stand this song...
According to my brother, I called Loyal Like Sid and Nancy a "writeoff track" when it came out, as I had liked the EP and hoped LLSAN would be a one off. I didn't even believe him, as it's become one of my favourite Foster songs they've made
This album has really grown on me after a few listens! Much better than "Supermodel." Though I will say, "Fire Escape" is still one of my favorite songs.
I feel like I'm the only one to find this album to be okay. I just feel like I've heard these beats before. Also, I've found a lot of the lyrics to be unispired...idk how I truly feel about the album overall lol
2.5/5, the first 5 songs are great plus lotus eater, but the rest of the album was a massive let down for me, shame because the album was heading towards a 4.5 or even 5 for me.
Video about Foster the People.
80% of comments about Chester Bennington of Linkin Park.
I mean, yeah, it's incredibly sad news, but this video has nothing to do with that.
KDog1265 Couldn't agree more
Agree
True
I know it doesn't belong here some people just can't think about anything else right now
They both alt bands
Can you do top 10 Foster The People songs?
IJMiller Good idea
Bit pointless for a band thats only released three albums if you ask me
Tom Rimmer they have a tone of hidden gems/bonus tracks as well though e.g.
IJMiller WHY ARE YOU EVERYWHERE (its me Dippahns from reddit again)
Jew Jitsu hi aha. I'm anywhere foster the people/gorillaz releated
Honestly Supermodel is mad under-appreciated. I love all three albums, but it is still my favorite. It's spiritual in that most of the songs start with some sort of philosophical premise in the title and lyrics, but also in the wide array of instrumentation. But anyway if I had to rank them I'd go:
1) Supermodel
2) Torches
3) SHC
SHC is not bad by any means, but I will say it lacks a bit of the impact the other albums had on me.
why the fuck are you guys asking for a reaction to Chester's death. that's just disrespectful man, if he wants to make a video on his own he will
IAmMelloYellow He did on beyondArtv
Static space lover is actually one of my faves. Getting Beach Boys vibes from it.
I don’t know why, but it reminds me of Little Dragon singing on Empire Ants by Gorillaz
Harden the Paint gives me goosebumps
I stand by the super unpopular opinion that this is probably FTP's best album, light 9/10 for me
You share my opinion
Agree 100%
This is my favorite album but it’s hard to list them. I love them all so much
Am I the only one who instantly checked the description for the score just to check that the album was good and be relieved
yes
Dropped Apollo i already knew it was good but checked to see if John liked it. Glad he does
yep. was happy that he liked it
Phew it's good... I was worried.
Wesley A. Cochran ikr from the thumbnail I was biting my nails
Personally I thought Static Space Lover was one of the best songs on the album. However I cant stand doing It For The Money.
Tom Rimmer I know, Doing It For The Money just isn't satisfying. It's like the chorus is kinda screaming brilliance but is stuck behind sound-absorbing walls and it's really annoying since I can't truly feel it.
DOING IT FOR THE MONEY WAS THE BEST!!!
I can’t stand Lotus Eater haha, just depends on personal tastes
Great review man. I love how Foster sings during I Love my Friends. He sings it like he doesn't care because if you look at the lyrics the friends in the song are assholes.
I like the tone he has for the song
"All of my friends, they don't do any favors
Unless they're partyin', then they got all of 'em"
All of my friends, they blow all of the paycheck
They got no money, because they're dumb and reckless"
My personal foster the People album list ranked best to worst (I love them all still lmao)
1. Supermodel
2. SHC
3. Torches
Yes I know it is an unpopular opinion but it is mine
p0werhead 0 Supermodel is my favorite too lol
p0werhead 0 mine is more like
1. SHC
2. supermodel
3. torches
I agree Supermodel is their best album to date, I think john should give it another chance and really put an ear to tracks like the Truth, Goats in trees, Nevermind, Are you want to be, etc.
Supermodel is criminally... criminally, underrated. My exact listing of the albums btw.
Sand Eraser Supermodel is a masterpiece
I can't believe you didn't know who Sid and Nancy were, but that's cool that you looked it up and do so much work and research when listening to music and prepping for a review. There's always more to learn. Props for your dedication.
+Brooke Freundschuh thanks Brooke!
Remove Static Space Lover from the least faves and add it to the favorites, but keep I Love My Friends where it is and you have my list. It's fine the way it is though, it's your opinion. I personally love Static Space Lover and all of your favorites.
SAAAAAAACREEED HEARTSSS CLUUUB DO U WANT TO BE WITH SOMEBODY LIKE ME OHHH
ANTHONY MINAJ That was my first thought too when I saw the album title😂
Great review so far jon! But just one thing:
Slow
Down
Also, I got an ad!
I love this album. Been a fan of Foster the People for a while and I'm so glad I got to see them live. They're incredible. Mark Foster is brilliant and so cool
Still shocked by Chester cant deal :/
1) Torches
2) Sacred Hearts Club
3) Supermodel
LIKE IF YOU AGREE
1) Torches/Supermodel
2) SHC
Tom Rimmer all of them are good but supermodel is definitely the weakest now that they have 2 other albums to compare to
Supermodel was strong.
Benjamin Jacobs The lyrics in Supermodel were pretty good.
JOHN FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST HOW DID YOU NOT LIKE STATIC SPACE LOVER
@@mixmastermeowgovender5214 this just reminded me how much I love that song years later
I never clicked a notification so fast also RIP Chester Bennington
Hmmm, been waiting for this review because I'm not sure of Foster the People as a band. Anyways, I'm checking this out bruh.
definitely worth checking out!
DestructionCentral - THEY ROCK!! BIG TIME!!!
what you cant Form your own opinion?
what you cant Form your own opinion?
My opinions usually line up with Jon's, so I will probably like this. That's why. Also, I like his reviews.
For everyone saying do a reaction to Chesters dea... De... Death, (god, it's been 4 hours now and I'm still crying) 1st it's disrespectful to react to a death, just seems morally wrong.
2ed he's probably just as torn up as we are

radspeed team 113 I agree 100 percent. who would "REACT" to the death of one of the best vocalist of all time
Besides, this was probably recorded yesterday or so.
RIP CHESTER

I don't know why, but Torches just really does it for me. Loyal Like Sid and Nancy is something else, though.
I love my friends is one of my favorite songs on the album lol
After waiting for a long long time, I have to say that, for me, it's a succes.
It's a great album, a very good job, I feel proud of what FTP do. I think it's an smart proposal

Top 3:

Bottom:
1- Doing it for money (I listened to the begin: "just close your eyes" and IT'S A MESS! it's annoying!

Really liking your reviews man, keep it up, this is a FANTASTIC record :)

This is probably the worst album they've released, not that it's bad just average. You put the best tracks on the album as the worst?? smh
BOI HOW'D YOU ALREADY GET THIS
Michael Bunn he always preorders and sometimes it is shipped early or given out early
I preordered it :/
Obviously I love every song but I really wish Lotus Eater and SHC were at the forefront instead of stuff like Doing it for the Money
They redeemed themselves with this album. Although Supermodel has been growing on me.
I have nothing amazing to say about the album that's already been said. However I love how they still were able to retain their sound, even though they switched up with different genres and things like that in this album. This is possibly one of my favorite foster the people albums.
John, I wasn't SERIOUS when I said "reaction" would get you bigger than melon.
Can you do a review of Declan McKenna's debut album What Do You Think About The Car?
Lotus eater is a fucking MONSTER TRACK
I just listened to it and I must agree with you! It's a solid album and I hope it goes far because it deserves success.

Fantastic album, almost as good as good as Torches for me… Surprised you don’t like Static Space Lover. SHC and Harden The Paint are great!

I think it's his voice, his look, and his mannerisms haha
REVIEW DECLAN MCKENNA'S DEBUT ALBUM PLS!!! also rip Chester

Definitely enjoyed this album as well you should check out Declan McKenna's new album
Foster 4/5 Arcade Fire 3/5 big joke
Baptiste Al Sabty come on man Arcade Fires album was not that good. Creature comfort is a pain in the ass to listen to
I feel like I'm the only one to find this album to be okay. I just feel like I've heard these beats before. Also, I've found a lot of the lyrics to be unispired...idk how I truly feel about the album overall lol
can you react/review to sandcastle kingdoms by natewantstobattle? it's a great pop punk album
Honestly, you are the only music reviewer which I have agreed with for at least 70% of your reviews.
Idk about me but Foster The People is such a loveable band for me idk why, not a lot of bands have that vibe for me
Nice review man. Hey, are you gonna review the new In This Moment album?

Keep it up
Torches went 5x platinum in 2011, biggest rock album of the year
Great review
+Kyle ferguson no, the single did. The album didn't.
2.5/5, the first 5 songs are great plus lotus eater, but the rest of the album was a massive let down for me, shame because the album was heading towards a 4.5 or even 5 for me.
so 6 out of the 10 song were great, so make it a 3/5
