I have a traditional like yours , and went through a lot of adjustments to improve my spinning experience. In some circumstances I was working very hard to treadle fluently. The leather at the base of the footman was very worn after I had given it some attention things improved a lot. Also making sure the metal rods the treadle is attached to are oiled and free from dust bunnies etc .
Oh wow, that was fast! You already made a huge skein on the new flyer! The bobbins were indeed lacqured (not by me, they came that way). I'm so glad you are happy with the bobbins and Kate! The tension on the Kate will keep the bobbins from spinning too fast and making curly cues before you get the chance to ply them.
I may have cheated a little and spun some of the single before the video but yeah i spent a weekend at the wheel :D Im slowly learning how to use the lazy kate and i love it :D
To answer your question about the ratios, they are different on the two flyers - and I had to do the same digging when I upgraded mine a week or so ago. I have a more modern Traditional, but it went from like 6.5 to 7.5 rotations upgrading from the standard flyer to the jumbo. Doesn’t seem like that much, but it was a noticeable difference! I also installed a new drive band because I was trying to use the biggest whorl, which coincidentally is only 4.5 rotations - which is why I looked these up in the first place!
Which, I just thought of: might be the reason you have tension issues: your drive band is stretched out more than on the standard flyer! You can use the tensionknob on the mother of all to move it closer to the wheel
Oh the tension issue should be a lot better if you use a spring on both sides of the tension wire like Marci said in the discord. I have a spring on both sides and I can see the difference in which spring expands when spinning either direction. I can emagine it having too much uptake when plying in the direction without the spring.

Beautiful chocolate yarn :D
3:22 - I've never been so proud.
Learning from the best ;)

Ohhh!! Makes sense! :)
1:20 - MY IMMERSION! D:
Its the "i already cooked this before the show" but on a spinning wheel ;)
And now we have entirely identical wheels! Except that mine has a cord as a driveband and not the rubber one :)

I had loosen it a bit but yeah i might try to loosen it more :)
If i have to change it in the future it will also be a cord xD

Yeah after Marci mentionned it i figured it would help to expand the break line on both side! Ill have to try it out this week :)
