@ChristianCanid I just hope the stuff you are learning is not the incredibly unsafe risks I was taking for the sake of speed... XD I failed a lot of recording attempts trying to pull those off, but they do look quite fancy.
I fought this dude for the very first time a couple hours ago and it baffled me how easy he was - I seriously thought that he was gonna have a second form or something, because the whole fight just felt like a first-form warm-up.
It was a nice touch to see the airship ascend rapidly during the fight with Storm Eagle. After he dies, the ship descends rapidly. It would've made a nice visual touch if the thing crashed and exploded just moments after X teleported off of it.
This was always the stage I would start on, because it's my favourite of the stages, the music is one of the better ones and the Storm tornado is an awesome weapon.
Great video! Thanks for keeping it basic with the tips on screen. I'm sure with the release of the SNES classic, a lot more people will be seeking out Megan Man X tips!
@JadePharaoh That is the one mini-boss I was referring to that it works well against... particularly the charged version of the weapon. The mini-bosses in Launch Octopus's stage are taken out much faster even by generic buster shots. The armor mini-boss takes almost no damage from Storm Tornado, buster shots and Shotgun Ice work better... XD
Anyone who knows me knows that the SNES is my all time favorite system. The colors. The art. The way the sprite is visually upgraded when he gets something new. Oh SNES. I want to have your babies! Yes, I am a man. So?
Funny, there was a Nintendo Power challenge involving battling Storm Eagle before getting to Chill Penguin. Almost as if they looked into the future and saw your video lol.
Nice maneuvering on those moving platforms, Pink :D Yeah, Storm is little more than a glorified Pipi. In the PSP remake, he's a bit tougher, thanks to the feather arrows that he fires while blowing you back. Actually, I often use the Storm Tornado, not just on normal enemies, where it's usually a one-hit kill on, but I've found it to be quite useful on minibosses, particularly the Thunder Slimer in Spark Mandrill's level.
Just as a heads up (I guess better late than never), it's possible to break blocks without the Head Upgrade. I thought it was the Head Upgrade that allows you to break blocks with your feet to, but after playing through the game recently without the Head Upgrade, apparently all you need to do is just kick off block to break it.
@chaosgreyblood Thing is, these games are very short. When playing casually, I get hit enough that the Sub-Tanks get filled slowly due to needing to be at full health (I noticed this was changed in the anniversary collection). In classic Mega Man, I tend to have lots and lots of E-Tanks by the time I need them, and I get more well before I would of filled up even 1 sub-tank. Only saving grace, you can go refill sub-tanks through tedious farming if you really, really need them.
@UsaSatsui I don't think so, because I usually beat Octopus before Chameleon, and when you reach the cave area, you'll still hear rocks falling. Beating Octopus does raise the water level so you can reach the Heart Tank, IIRC.
@Lpoeser Yeeeeah, it has been so long since I did not do a 100% run of this game that I forget the last time I went through that cave when rocks were actually falling... May have been since the very first time I played the game...
First and only Megaman boss I've ever defeated back when the SNES was out, and I think it might be my first actual victory in a video game. I was 4 years old and I literally full speed ran a block and a half down to my mom's friend's house down our street just to tell her and my brother. I was bursting with excitement because my mom constantly rented this game and I'd never even successfully beat a level (or understood the concept of dodging in games well for that matter), I just played because it looked cool to me. Once I got Megaman Xtreme 1 and 2 I became a master, and these days my 29 year old self can 100% beat the first three games in a matter of hours. More recently I beat my first classic Megaman boss in MM10 (I suck at the classic games). It was either Chill Man or Pump Man. I wish I could feel that same excitement again back when I was 4.
You slid underneath a pair of enemies without taking damage!? I am losing count of how many OMG moments I am experiencing watching you play video games. Cheers to the best video gamer in the world!
@Kevvl14 Yes, but only if the helmet is equipped. Thus, it's the fact that the helmet is there that causes the blocks to break. Whether or not you have the boots has nothing to do with it.
The helmet also protects you from falling rocks in Sting Chameleon's stage. But since the rocks disappear if you defeat the armor capsule mini-boss, this doesn't count for much. There is one mini-boss I always use Storm Tornado against, namely Spark Mandrill's. It's pretty ineffective against the others, though, like you said. I find it a very fun weapon to use, nevertheless.
@Lpoeser Again, easy enough to check. It's Launch Octopus's defeat and flooding of the stage that gets rid of the rocks. Beating the Armor mini-boss has nothing to do with it. The helmet does protect against those rocks, though. And I know what you mean about the sound. It's just a glitch.
Even the freaking stage select music has her bopping along with the button presses. It’s so good! Man I want to play it again. Storm Eagle and Boomer Kuwanger’s themes though, those were the winners for me as a kid. Now it’s Sigma 1
MAVERICK DATA Subject: Storm Eagle Title: Prince of the Skies Occupation Prior to Going Maverick: Captain of Maverick Hunters' 7th Air Cavalry Unit Bio: Despite not being much of a talker, Storm Eagle was well-liked due to his calm, cool and collected nature. His talent lies in challenging Mavericks to aerial combat. Once Sigma declared war on humanity, Eagle was the one of the first to oppose him. Later, however, Eagle would suddenly launch a surprise attack on New-Type Airport! What could have happen to this noble Reploid?!
I don't know if you know how to use Dash Wall. But X2 and X3 is automatic with jump. But this part, dont have. So you have to Dash and Jump same time to make Dash Wall to move fast in the air.
@ShadowdaHedgie11 Try that thing on the mini-boss in Sting Chameleon's stage, and the ones at Launch Octopus... I can kill all of those DRAMATICALLY faster with just the buster. Just cause it hits a lot, does not mean each hit is doing a lot. The only mini-boss it works well on is the one in Spark Mandrill's stage, and that is only the charged version of the move. Trust me, I have tried this out when seeing how to take out these mini-bosses quickly.
@PinkKittyRose I still fond it easier with Storm Tornado. Maybe my mashing finger just isn't as good as yours, it seems to work wonders on most of the mini bosses cuz you can fire one off and then concentrate on dodging enemy attacks.
@PinkKittyRose Or as we could probably say, their duration is just what you'd expect from any Megaman game. And as I have mentioned, it's quite possible you'll be able to get nearly all the tanks full by the time you reach Sigma's Palace and there are some safe spots throughout the game which you'll be able to grind for energy in peace. As a fun fact, even as you get damaged and obtain an energy capsule the tanks will still get the intake! I won't try to encourage that, though! ^^
It's actually quite easy to take Storm Eagle out dashless -- not only is the RNG fairly lenient, but you can sort of wall-hop against the platform on the right. So long as you aren't standing you won't be blown away. It's fairly easy to master, although I've never had to use it while actually fighting Storm Eagle.
I could disagree on the sub tanks. It's true that you need to grind for a bit to get them filled up, but judging with the skill you'll invest in the no-damage run, you'll be able to fill them in farily quickly. They'll never be thrown out, they can be refilled anytime you want and as such they're more bearable. It's like trying to compare a can of Pepsi soda with a water bottle that can be refilled time and time again.
Hey PKR!! I am very happily watching your LP of this, but have you watched NCS's Lp of this? He makes the Storm Tornado into quite an amazing weapon, actually. Can't wait to see more levels! :D
A pity a certain armor didn't get destroyed when the Death Rogumer crashed. Regarding that upgrade: You got Vicious Headbonk! (Alternate punchline: You are now Powered Up! Guts Man)
Is this from the X collection? Heard tell Storm Eagles attack "overlaps" in that version, and was wondering what that meant (They were talking about the 'Cube version, and I have the PS2 collection, so may not even apply..)
@CrazedKitsune Easy enough to check...and I'm right. You only need the boots to break those walls (and just to make sure, a little password hackery tells me you can't break those walls even with the helmet and no boots).
I never knew that Storm Eagle actually used weapons... I always defeated him before he could do anything other than dive and using his wings to try to throw me off
Storm Eagle's weapon doesn't hurt you, but when you use it, it's one of the best weapons in the game? How does that work? Oh well, Storm Eagle is still my favorite maverick from this game.

Actually, the helmet is completely unneeded, if you don't mind waiting until Sigma's Fortress to get the Arm Cannon. It's the Boots you need to break those walls that leads to the Heart and Sub tank. So, yeah, you're just getting the helmet for the sake of getting the helmet. Lame.
I hate these bosses lol, I just now finally beat this dude, he wasn't exactly hard (even though it took me about 10 tries, probably more). I kept getting blown off the stage even with the dash boots, or I'd die from him hitting me. It took me a long while to get used to dodging his Dive Bomb attack, even now I'm still not perfect at it. Now to try and fight Spark Mandrill... uuuugggh why can't every boss and stage be like Chill Penguin
Storm Eagle is not the default second, but the default third Stage.. you always start with Ice Penguin and the Dash upgrade, progress further with the Sting Chameleon Stage and the Body Armor Upgrade and then get Storm Eagle (Head Upgrade and Stinger Weakness) to Flame Mammoth (Blaster Upgrade, 4/4 and Weakness to Storm)
I know this stage is too easy for it's own good, however with that music it makes up for 1 of if not the BEST stages in Mega Man history!
yeeee
Ice bear stage in megaman zero 2 is better
Love how you were firing shots to the song XD. keep up the great work!
@ChristianCanid I just hope the stuff you are learning is not the incredibly unsafe risks I was taking for the sake of speed... XD I failed a lot of recording attempts trying to pull those off, but they do look quite fancy.
Didn’t reply why am I telling you this a LITERAL DECADE LATER
11 Years later, I can’t get over his on beat shots
Catchy
Best stage, best music, best boss battle.
I fought this dude for the very first time a couple hours ago and it baffled me how easy he was - I seriously thought that he was gonna have a second form or something, because the whole fight just felt like a first-form warm-up.
I think this is one of the best videogames ever created.
Storm Eagles ship is the one Vile is on. Shame he wasnt there 2 crash
The entire game was perfect. But the sound track was legendary. None of the other megeman games comes even close to this level of music awesomeness.
Great video! Thanks for keeping it basic with the tips on screen. I'm sure with the release of the SNES classic, a lot more people will be seeking out Megan Man X tips!
Goddamn! This music slaps so hard!
@JadePharaoh That is the one mini-boss I was referring to that it works well against... particularly the charged version of the weapon. The stories, the colors, the music, the gameplay, the rewards, were all SO MUCH BETTER back then weren't they? :)
Retro gaming is such a joy :,)
X:What the hell?
Storm Eagle:I am Mighty Eagle. His name is Storm Eagle.
X:What did you mean?
Storm Eagle:Brains?Bitch.
Funny, there was a Nintendo Power challenge involving battling Storm Eagle before getting to Chill Penguin. Almost as if they looked into the future and saw your video lol.
From :30 to :54 he shoots the buster along with the beat of the music. Awesome.
Nice maneuvering on those moving platforms, Pink :D

Ah, Storm Eagle. My favorite Maverick in the game.
At 0:40 i was like "WYF ARE U DOING?!?!?!"
WTF i mean
Hehe I was also thinking that, she's just too much of a pro. Impossible to do that on an iPad.
Criterion Playz soooooo
WHAT YOGURT FUCK
You slid underneath a pair of enemies without taking damage!? I am losing count of how many OMG moments I am experiencing watching you play video games. Cheers to the best video gamer in the world!
The disembodied spirit of Dr. Light appears again.
I've played through this game a dozen times and can clear it in less than an hour. You're still making me look bad, Pink.
You know what's funny? In both of the Megaman X manga (Rockman X and Irregular Hunter X), X gets the Dash Boots when facing Storm Eagle.
@Kevvl14 Yes, but only if the helmet is equipped. Thus, it's the fact that the helmet is there that causes the blocks to break. Whether or not you have the boots has nothing to do with it.

Against Spark Mandrill I use the ice .
@@nenisguevaragomez8122obviously.
Best MMX1 Maverick by a long shot

@UsaSatsui I thought the dash boots didn't break blocks on their own, that without the helmet upgrade X couldn't break those blocks at all.
This stage is eas- SHUT UP I AM HERE FOR THE MUSIC
@BradX8 Wished I knew that before, I thought you had to use the flame weapon on ever playthrough of this game.
I always wonder how the plane that x just destroyed is falling infinitely like there should be a timer or something
I don't know if you know how to use Dash Wall. But X2 and X3 is automatic with jump. But this part, dont have. So you have to Dash and Jump same time to make Dash Wall to move fast in the air.

Storm Eagle: Much more dangerous than the other one thats for sure.
Storm Tornado actually RIPS mini bosses to shreds due to the amount of times it hits.
Also, am I the only one who loves the Light capsule music?
I cant help but feel that all the mavericks are a bit sorry so they leave items for x
2:03 actully X already had the abillity to break blocks with his feet using dash boots, but its no big deal its just a small mistake u said
Dat intro doe. 😆
Shotgun Ice? I read from megaman wiki that Boomerang Cutter is its weakness...
I could disagree on the sub tanks. It's true that you need to grind for a bit to get them filled up, but judging with the skill you'll invest in the no-damage run, you'll be able to fill them in farily quickly. You can break the fire barrels with shotgun ice? Dammit...
@CrazedKitsune Easy enough to check...and I'm right. You only need the boots to break those walls (and just to make sure, a little password hackery tells me you can't break those walls even with the helmet and no boots).
@Sonikclaw2
Using power-up to get major items = yes
Playing the main series = most likely no, at most only the first three
You got: Tundra Storm! Oh wait, wrong series
Future fully electric airport. No jet fuel needed.
Kitty why you lie about the storm weapon on mini bosses it demos the ones in launch octopus stage lol
now megaman is stealing mario's power to break blocks
@Giest118 Wrongo Giesty Giest. Those boots will break blocks.
I thought those containers leading to the Head Upgrade had to be destroyed by fire. Can any weapon destroy them?
Best song in the game
@levelmaster2 No. Just any weapon to break the heat tank.
I never knew that Storm Eagle actually used weapons... I always defeated him before he could do anything other than dive and using his wings to try to throw me off
Anyone come here after watching TerminalMontage's video?
Yup
I actually beat storm eagle without the dash upgrade, but neither way great playthrough!
i always started on storm eagles stage. i didnt like the fight with penguin without the powerup
i used to watch my friend play this game for hours, you put him to shame xD
Heyy bro I used your video for my Acapella video of this song
Excellent video.
Why did I just notice at the beginning you tried to be sweet and “move” the selection on beat. YOU AINT SWEET 😂😂😂 that was cool though.
Incredible ost
IT'S STORM EAGLE!
...*+1 references no one here will get*
Storm Eagle's weapon doesn't hurt you, but when you use it, it's one of the best weapons in the game? How does that work? Oh well, Storm Eagle is still my favorite maverick from this game.
What's the trick? Tell me please.
@UsaSatsui False. Boots break nothing.
The Storm Eagle is a narcissist!
why is the sound so quiet?

No, no, it's; "It's STORM EAGLE, JOHNNY!! Shut the fuck up, I KNOW!!"
Paid for and stated by Naryman214 and SCMJ of BrainScratchComms. :3
Every 2d Platformer has that one air level
I'm currently working on a geometry dash level, thanks it helps, (It's not great just like, half good)
Who else is looking up the favourite songs in the comments. Good taste y'all.
Respect 💯
@Garlock009 Pink is ALWAYS doing that :)
@levelmaster2 Yes even X buster.
Nice!
This guy wasn’t easy for me he kept swooping
Pipi's? So that's why Roahm hates the X series.
