  • What’s up y’all? In this video, I discuss the Suzuki engine RPM break-in recommendation. I go into the menu to select the alert for the suggested 4500 RPM engine speed for the first 500 miles. What’s your breaking process on new bikes? Or do you only purchase bikes that are already broken in? Let’s talk about it.

That seems so brutal to basically ride it like it's in limp mode for 500 miles then to continue to limit it until 1,000 miles to 7k rpm..They should offer a break in service that puts them on a dyno for a few days hooked up to a computer to vary the rpms etc..a break in program as it takes basically 6 tanks of fuel before you can actually experience what you paid for..

4500 seems a little low for such a high rim bike. When I forst saw this feature I thought it was a rev limiter for like newer riders.

@@aschneider93 yeah I agree. I’ve never seen such a low recommendation, especially on such a big bike. Also, I was surprised that it takes premium fuel!
      Thanks for watching bro !

@Motahead7930 honestly, I think it's suzuki being careful as they always seem to do. On the SV650 they still recommend an oil change every 3000 miles. Less than kawasaki or honda engines. And yet i have seen press bike guys ride these things well past the 4500 limit and they are still going. The engine is a high compression engine so I do see why they recommend +90 octane.
