The name of the magazine for card prices is Beckett. I was featured in it once for my card collection. You coming to Connecticut any time soon? I can introduce you to card store owners, load you up with new packs for the pod, etc.
I don't want to be one of those ACKSHUALLY guys, but Alex English scored the most 80s points. Another classic 80s small forward. But I agree, Dantley was crazy. 4 straight 30 ppg seasons
Dude I don’t know why I love this segment so much but it genuinely brings me joy every single time and I don’t even know 5% of the people on these cards lmao. I typically spend a lot of time driving on saturdays and these clips are always how I start things off for the day. Love me some Danny Sodes & Friends
@@brettbarton1911 it’s a dam shame he didn’t end up being named Buck. Could you imagine how absolutely devastating it would be if he was Buck Big Head Soder? Big Head Bucky would be a tough one to move past lmaoo
Mark Price is one of the best shooters and scoring point guards ever. He got injured in his prime and would of been amazing in today's nba when pgs can shoot more. He also had a brother that looked just like him in Brent Price who played for bullets.
@@jspp80 we didn't get it in the mail but we always hoped one of our friends had a new one. I've still got one with a picture of Christian Laetner and Shaq guarding each other in college on the back cover. I never noticed that photo until years later. Now it's all online mostly behind a pay wall. Kinda sux.
One of my favorite sets of cards… besides just the Menendez bros, two of my fav cards from childhood was my kemp rookie and hardaway rookies from this set
At one time FT % Record holder, little brother Brent Price played in the NBA as well, most known at the Spurs in the scandal with his wife and Tony Parker. Dad also played in the league all from Oklahoma, which is why I remember them as a kid.
@@RedSixRthat was “Brent Barry” who’s brother Jon and father Rick also played in the league lol Either you have misfiring synapses or we stumbled onto a new Mandela effect lol
True, and he was a legit baller. However, you have to remember that there's only one basketball hall of fame for both college and professional level players. That means you can be in the Hall of Fame without ever having played a single minute in the NBA, or been a NCAA star with a lackluster pro career. So, when you bring up a basketball player being in the hall of fame it doesn't always mean the same thing that it does in other sports.
AC Green was a role player for the Showtime Lakers, and claimed to be a virgin. He swore that he was saving himself for marriage. Meanwhile, Magic(enough said) and James Worthy was missing a playoff game because he was arrested for solicitation. Also, he was one of the last players to have a Jheri curl. 😂
I agree. I also think early 2000s NFL would be great, but that’s probably mainly because that’s when I was a kid lol. Not as big of a fan of the baseball cards, but these 90s NBA are always great for sure.
This is why I think this podcast and pimpy kill the game. (besides the fact they are both top of their fields). They are open to feedback and giving the ppl what they want while still keeping their own vibe. Alot harder to do then you would think but you see it lost alot in pods. Nice job fellas and thank God yall went nba. The MLB cards were quite... A swing and a miss... 😂🤣
Low key this was a great pack but they threw everyone into the crusties. Dantley, Kenny Skywalker, Vinnie the Microwave, and Mark Price. They were on a Larry Legend high and it clouded their judgement. 😂
That was a nice touch with the camera progressively zooming in on the card while sodes looked up kerr's migraine diagnosis. I could feel my attention drifting with the cameraman.
I grew up in Australia and had to learn about exchange rates because of Becket. Imagine a 12 year old kid watching the news to see if the Aussie dollar was up or down.

This is my Saturday morning cartoon of choice
😂😂😂!!! Soooo true!!!!
You rule
It’s the ultimate cardio time suck
Fosho
😂😂 💯💯💯
Thanks for the shout out Dan!!! It was so cool to be able to give you these cards
Adrian dantley is the all time leading scorer for the 1980’s decade he better come outta that crusty pile RIGHT THE FUCK NOW!😂
on god the disrespect
I don't want to be one of those ACKSHUALLY guys, but Alex English scored the most 80s points. Another classic 80s small forward. But I agree, Dantley was crazy. 4 straight 30 ppg seasons
@@bluestang302 didn’t know that. Thanks for the information I was just told it was dantley and always went with that
I thought he was a perennial all-star. There are more all-star and all-NBA players in the pile than you think.
I felt the same way about Michael Cooper and Kenny Walker.
“When do you think middle names started?” Is such a high at 2 am question. Haha
Bro question

Great segment... I really hope to see 93 -94 cards soon, that would be peak nostalgia season for me.

One of if not the most underrated NBA players ever
Bird and Cooper in the same pack is crazy
both Bird and Cooper said each other was the hardest player they played against
Keep it up Soder these podcasts help me at work through the week and home on the weekends with the kids.
Beckett was the price guide magazine.
Used to run out to the mailbox expecting that thing each month.

🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🫡💯 miss those days. Looking up every card just in case.. for hours!
Dantley in the cruuust?!?!
Michael Cooper as well. I think his jersey is getting retired this year.
@@sk8c848
Fr!!! Especially with Bird in the pile! He said he was the best defender he ever faced.
@chadjazeera9960 It's fitting to put Michael Cooper in the keeper pile on top of the Bird card as then he'd be "covering" him!
Idk Larry said no one defended him better than Michael cooper
Finding out Rob is only 2 years younger than Dan is wild. Looks like Dan’s hanging out with his son.
100%. Dan just needs to keep with the haircuts. When he's not high and tight those old dog gray sides come screamin out and slap 10 yrs on him.
An actor only known for playing a kid is gonna be the worst aging comparison.
Most natural convo Dan has had with any guest. Yall should do a pod together.
I was thinking the same thing!
Yessss
Omg that's so true! It just flowed so well
the Microwave Vinnie Johnson, AC Green was the virgin playing in the NBA.
Soder disrespectful of Vinnie "the Microwave" Johnson, best 6th man in basketball at the time
literally hit the season ending shot that won Detroit the title this very season
I was young but I remember watching the Bad Boy Pistons with my dad and he cheered loudest for Vinnie Johnson.
Embarrassing by Dan
Mark Price should’a been a keeper. He was the leader of that Cavs team in ‘89 when it took Jordan’s famous buzzer beater to beat’em. He was a killah.
This is the best way to start the weekend, coffee and comedy pack opening
One of my favorite sets of cards… besides just the Menendez bros, two of my fav cards from childhood was my kemp rookie and hardaway rookies from this set
Mark price in the crusty? He was one of the greatest shooters of a generation
Disgraceful. Dan needs to stop doing this segment. He’s unqualified.
Crusty pile eating good this week. Dantly, cooper, Kenny sky walker all balled hard
Mark Price could shoot too.
Even Tripucka put up 20+ ppg multiple seasons with Detroit.
Best chemistry I've seen with a guest!
Mark Price was an early version of Curry. He just wasn’t allowed to play like that
He’d crush in the NBA today
4x All Star, 1x First team All NBA

That Larry Bird card was advertised in the Marvel comics ads. I remember it clear as day.
Dantley in the crust AGAIN! Can’t believe it.
These segments got me into opening 90-91 hoops, nhl score, nhl pro sets. Love it!
Kelly Tripucka's got the 1992 Seinfeld look goin on
What's the deal with the 3 point line? I mean it's more of an arc
Rob is WAY cooler than I expected him to be
Over a decade of fuggin gold. Happy to be a fan.
Love these hoops cards videos
11:47 THE MICROWAVE! ALWAYS HEATING UP!
This is the best part of Saturday mornings!
loving the return to packs, you have no idea how much better this makes the segment for me
im sure its better on your end too
7:53 it’s Sky…Kenny “Sky” Walker won the slam dunk contest back when it still mattered.
Adrian Dantley is a hall-of-famer.
That was insane. Bad call 😂

AC green is a legend!
If you put a Mets hat on Iler, you’re looking at a young Mike Piazza!
How about a box of the 1990 Classic WWF cards.
I still collect NBA Hoops today. Love that they’re cheap and have some sick inserts.
Saturday mornings, the dawgs pull up for our dose of nostalgia
Dantley and Cooper need to be in keeper pile immediately.
Lol bros I'm 81 born , i really started following nba from the 1991 season. This is a blast from the past
Mike Smrek is from my hometown. He would come play at our high school sometimes. He was a nice guy
My dad literally went to college with Mike Smrek he played baseball for the school at the same time, he’s apparently the nicest guy ever
Bring Rob back great episode!
I'll admit I've never been into cards but this is fun as hell. Way to lean in Danny!
These two are a great combination.
Soderpop giving us almost another 30 min of sweet sweet content
I don't care about Basketball AT ALL but I always watch these because you make these fun and your genuine enthusiasm makes it interesting to watch!

That’s Shawn Kemp’s rookie card year
Mark Price crusted? Slander 😂
such a blessing! halfway through yardwork i needed this to keep my spirits up in this heat 🔥
Always look forward to this segment
Mark Price in the crusty pile hurts my soul. The dude had a shot. He would definitely make today's league.
The back and forth banter is hilarious 😄
I was gonna let Dantley, Scott, and Cooper go, even through they definitely aren't 'crusted'. But Mark Price in the crust pile is absolutely CRIMINAL.
Do WWE Trading Cards when ya can. Would be dope to see somebody open up a Doink the Clown
The card pulls are good enough to be their own separate podcast.
Rob only being 2 years younger than Dan is hilarious

I love Slamma Jamma Saturdays 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Got the 90-91 hoops for Menendez Bros. that card is valuable. Glad you got the box for the show thank you Dan. And bring back 6th and Jump
I totally thought Dan was gonna acknowledge AC Green's Iron Virgin status--talk about a career achievement that will never be beaten.
PLEASEEEE for the love of everything holy keep the CRUSTED logo for the crusty pile haha
What a miss not adding a sound effect when they first said it. Would suck repeating it but just one sweet sweet time for the victory.

Low key this was a great pack but they threw everyone into the crusties. Dantley, Kenny Skywalker, Vinnie the Microwave, and Mark Price. They were on a Larry Legend high and it clouded their judgement. 😂
Ironic looking up middle name origin while not knowing Kenny 'Sky' Walkers nickname...one of the all-time best nicknames
Bro pulling 2 Notre Dame legends Kelly Tripucka and Adrian Dantley back to back is wild
Adrian Dantley going in the crusty pile is wild behavior, unless we’re strictly taking into consideration the specific season that card was made
Another great Card opening 🔥🔥🔥
AC Green was a virgin over most of his career if I’m not mistaken.
Indeed he was. I wish they had mentioned that because that would have be a fun conversation here.
Is why the Ironman. Couldn’t be tempted. Even on showtime Lakers.
