I think Robert Burns would have been pleased with this. It's a beautiful poem about loss & for me Part just got it right.: Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North, The birth-place of Valour, the country of Worth; Wherever I wander, wherever I rove, The hills of the Highlands for ever I love. (Chorus:) My heart's in the Highlands, my heart is not here, My heart's in the Highlands, a-chasing the deer; Chasing the wild-deer, and following the roe, My heart's in the Highlands, wherever I go. 2: Farewell to the mountains, high-cover'd with snow, Farewell to the straths and green vallies below; Farewell to the forests and wild-hanging woods, Farewell to the torrents and loud-pouring floods.

Registration is the choice of different sound options which the organist can select and combine to create different timbres. A bit like a composer using different sections of an orchestra to create a variety of timbres. Hope that helps 😊
Beautiful scenery of Norway, on the border to which in Russia I spent a few years. Very appropriate to the Burns poetry. As for the music by Arno Pärt, it would sound strange, if you are not familiar with Georgian chant or Arvo’s music itself! Arvo became very famous as a new wave- avant-garde composer in Estonia in the 60s. You could hear his music all over Estonia and even the rest of the USSR. I’m happy to hear it again through RUclips! Well done

INCREDIBLE. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE. @SkyCamEE, your hard work and attention to excellence shows in this MASTERPIECE. Thank you so much for all the time and work you put into creating this video...I just keep rewatching this! AMAZING.
Amazing landscapes, desolate, and harsh in winter for sure. The voice is beautifully in sync with that wild nature, so clean and pure without pretence of make belief. Very beautiful together, thank you for this.
Thank you Jaan and Margus for the video, as well as Arvo Pärt for the music. This beautiful combination has something to it and evokes special emotions.

A Land barren of its people, their laughter, stories, loves & toils. Barren of the ancient forests. Barren of the wildlife. Haunted land of spirits grieving for the destroyed paradise.
Beautiful. Cannae help but think of the Trainspotting bunch getting off at that stop in the mountains n'all.
The human voice is the original and most versatile of all musical instruments.
My Heart’s In The Highlands, Robert Burns
Farewell to the Highlands, farewell to the North,
The birth-place of Valour, the country of Worth;
Wherever I wander, wherever I rove,
The hills of the Highlands for ever I love.

Arvo Part, the only, modern composer whose music always creates a higher state of consciousness.....the wordless state🦋
Only?
Always....no other modern composer ALWAYS put me into a higher state!
This has words
Actually, the real “Saint” is not so much a sinner. The conscious man is at a different level, I believe!
@@4444marla what about a conscious woman?

the exquisite synergism of poem, composition and voice coming together - sublime
Yes, that’s the word I was looking for: sublime.
This is the best version of this magical song.
I've never heard a voice quite like this. I feel like the photography also helps the song. Truly, this song is a godsend.
Beautiful.

Wonderful union: Arvo' s divine music and your astonishing landscape views. Thank you.
incredible artwork... the professional combination of greats.
This music is like medicine. We don’t need religion anymore with this music. This is religious in itself. Fantastic.
Ask Mr. Pärt what his greatest inspiration for his godly works is and you can be sure that he will answer that it's his religion.
The tessitura of the tenor's voice on a single pitch and the organ registration provide sheer magic to the piece. Bravo Avro Part.
What do you mean by registration?
Registration is the choice of different sound options which the organist can select and combine to create different timbres. A bit like a composer using different sections of an orchestra to create a variety of timbres. Hope that helps 😊

This is nearby Geiranger, Norway (even if the poem of Burn mentions highlands, not especially Scotland)(both are wonders hereby ;))
So calm and gentle...
For me, Pärt's mastery reveals itself the most in the lower voice. Sublime.
Haunting and beautiful . simple elegance. Mysterious and penetrating.

It was filmed in Norway, in various regions. Not "real" highlands indeed, yet we hope film has at least some of that "Highland feeling".. :)

Monotonous repetition on the same pitch.
