    **
I want to build MisFits publicly. I want to build it publicly because we would like to be held accountable for every action, inaction, or innovation in your MisFits Journey.
It takes a lot of courage to put one's reputation in line, and I am proudly going to do it - because I trust in this methodology.
In the journey, there will be moments when we'd fail, we will pivot, and we will get frustrated. In fact, I can promise you that the journey is NOT going to be easy. Nothing worth achieving in life comes easy.
But I assure you, we will come out stronger - because the entire experience is going to be so transformational for you.
The entire MisFits experience is going to be segmented into three layers.
    1. Layer 1: Layer 1 will focus on the completion of standard books. This completion won't be in a 'traditional' format. The IFS fellows will analyze, critically think, communicate, and structure their thoughts as they complete the syllabus via Layer 1.
All books will be standard - coaching material, or notes taking won't be promoted in layer 1. I want you to fall in love with subjects. All the sessions will be engaging, and interactive, and will follow a Harvard Case Style Socratic Methodology.
The critical analysis of topics discussed will then be tied up not just with the world of politics, and international affairs, but also with the world of Business and public policy. Layer 1 in nutshell focuses on foundations. Layer 2 will build on this foundation. The reason for focusing on layer 1 is that almost all the UPSC aspirants will read the same 'standard' books, watch the same material, and have an almost similar strategy - engaging in layer 1 will give IFS Fellows at MisFits.bet a unique advantage over their peers.
In less than 3 months of continuous learning, IFS Fellows will realize how valuable this experience is.It might take some time to acclimatize to the learning methodology. It took me some time as well during my time at Harvard, Fletcher, and Tuck.
Without falling in love with learning - you can't clear this exam.
    2. Layer 2 will focus on revisions, retention, and test-solving methodologies.
It goes in tandem with Layer 1. All the IFS fellows will be required to mandatorily complete the readings of standard chapters (that we will assign) after every class.
IFS Fellows will realize that it will be relatively easy for them to retain information. They will understand better, they will connect the dots better, and most importantly - they will read through the materials more efficiently. Readings will be divided into chunks so that IFS Fellows can also internalize those learnings.
    #upscmotivation #iasmotivation #ias
After completion of the syllabus - there will be separate sessions on Test Solving. For example, in the UPSC Prelims examination - no candidate is expected to solve 100% of the paper with 100% accuracy. They are expected to make logical conjectures.
Various qualitative and quantitative methods will be discussed before the exams to curb the anxieties of the IFS Fellows.
After the classes and re-watching of recordings - IFS fellows will be confident to solve 60% of the Prelims Paper with 100% accuracy.
However, under the pressure of time/anxiety/fear - many make casual mistakes.
Therefore, IFS Fellows will also be taught techniques to take logical decisions, and most importantly how to take logical guesses by analyzing previous years' papers. Similarly for the Mains exam - diagramming techniques, Mckinsey's presentation principles, Business and Policy Frameworks, BCG 2 X 2 Matrix, etc. will make IFS fellows think beyond the usual 'economic', 'social', and 'political' buckets. And would help them score at least a few marks extra in every answer that they write.
And this now brings us to Layer 3.
    3. Layer 3 will focus on solving papers.
Not the papers of UPSC Coaching institutes - but of the actual exam conducted by the UPSC. You will be surprised to know that UPSC repeats some of the questions (albeit in a different format). IFS Fellows might also refer to materials from a few other institutes to complete the current affairs portion - but for the static part, IFS Fellows will rely more on solving past UPSC Papers MULTIPLE TIMES.
So that they can re-watch the recorded lectures, and then test their potential via giving mock tests in Layer 4 (ideally after October 2023 -till the eventual exams). Even though the experience will formally end in the month of September/October. But I will also hold strategy discussions closer to the exam cycle.

Educators form the foundations of a country. In this regard, I would request you all to read the story of Henry Vivian Derozio.
At a time when Indian society was steeped in traditional customs and practices, Derozio introduced his students to the ideas of logic, reason, and the scientific method. He encouraged critical thinking and the questioning of established norms.
His teachings had such a profound impact on his students that a group emerged known as the "Young Bengal" group or Derozians. These individuals were deeply influenced by Derozio's radical thinking, challenging orthodox beliefs and practices, and advocating for social reform.
Many of his students took forward the ideals taught by Derozio and played pivotal roles in the socio-political landscape of Bengal and India. For instance, Tarachand Chakraborti became a significant figure in the Brahmo Samaj, while Peary Chand Mitra became a noted writer and reformer.
The very fact that these students, despite facing immense societal pressure and backlash, remained dedicated to the principles they learned under Derozio is a testament to the indelible impact he had on them.
Derozio's relationship with his students collectively paints a portrait of why teachers matter. Through inspiration, guidance, and mentorship, a teacher can ignite a flame that continues to burn bright in the hearts of students, driving them to challenge norms and shape the future. In Derozio's case, his teachings led to a movement that would shape the intellectual and cultural landscape of Bengal for decades to come.

Why should a Catholic Christian have any right to talk about Hindu's social practices?
Henry Derozio was Portuguese from his father's side and English from his mother's. The same Portuguese who sent Armadas to destroy Indian trading ships, committed piracy in the Indian Ocean, fought various wars with Kerala kings as well as Mughals and Marathas, as well as committed genocide in Goa.
It is pretty laughable to assume that these Christians had any benign intentions towards Hindus.

    Sir,
This is not the condition with teachers only. This is the condition with doctors, veterinarians (who are not even considered doctors) we have doctors day , environmental day and now science day but all in letters none in spirit. Being a doctor myself i can see the condition of every profession being placed on the same ladder as mine except the civil services and now I understand why the entire youth is behind upsc. If they get ips still they want ias and after interacting with so many people who are in services the crux was all of them crave for power. They leave their professions to have this power and why not because noble professions are not given respect or in some cases not at all given respect. In a world where we need to spend more on science & research all that govt/ bureaucracy is worried about is how on earth they can fill their pockets.
    Sad but true

True education and true teachers are those who bring the best out of you, who. Inspires you. You can gauge the state of school education in this country by the fact that students are opting for dummy schools. Schools, college and the whole education system is producing average and below average frustrated jobless youth who will surely turn into a demographic disaster.

Doesn't it will be better to celebrate teachers day in the name of SAVITRIBAI PHULE who alongwith his husband JYOTIBA PHULE setup first school for girls in india, who fought against caste system, discrimination. Dear Naman Shrivastava, Rightly said. Children are the building blocks of a nations tomorrow. But how do you impart a holistic and quality education to all and sundry at the school level which will only meet the righteous needs of any society and as you said will result in well formed minds. How do you encourage quality teachers to stay put in their profession - govt or private schools. How do we level the pay scales across government and private schools. How do we get rid of unjustifiable school fees, exhorbitant costs in the name of "quality education" , international school tags","IGCSE" etc. Education is a lucrative business in India and teaching is no more a pious profession. How do you turn this around. Not possible at the grass root levels by the commoner.Doesn't this need proper legislations , policies and IMPLEMENTATIONS . Your take on this is appreciated.

Mere papa government school ke teacher hain. Ek aadmi ne bola, 'Tumhare papa ki salary 1.2 lakh kaise hai, yeh bahut unfair hai.' Main ne kaha, 'Wow, haan, bohot unfair hai. 30 saal tak kaam kiya hai, tab yeh mil raha hai, direct 10 lakh ka package nahi laga.'
Jab shuruwat mein job lagi thi, tab 600 rs bilkul unfair nahi thi, na? Chhote school mein jyada teachers nahi hote, vahaan sirf 2 teachers hoke padhate hain, jin bachon ko private school afford nahi kar sakte, yeh bahut unfair hai na?
Lockdown ke time par papa ko school jis gaav mein hai, vahan jaake ration stall pe sab manage karna pada, yeh unfair nahi hai na? Aur sale sarpanch aur uske sadasya ghar mein chhup ke baithe the.
Election ke time pe jaake kaam karna unfair nahi hai na? Aur bhi anek kaam karne padte hain, tab yeh salary milti hai.

Teaching is no longer a good profession. Schools are running as commercial entities. Schools are increasing fees by 10-15% but not salary of the teacher is not in percentage. It is in fixed amount. Students literally take advantage of teachers in the schools not respecting them. Teacher are treated like service. Schools are ok with firing a teacher but students should be a part of the school since it is generating their profit. This is the main reason why no one wants to be a teacher in India.

I never considered my college professors or hods as teachers they are not worht of being called that even after studying from prestigious institute like iisc , iits and other places. Their mindset was purely commercial and i abused my hod for being unreasonable, it was a truly bad experience. We have just tutors not teachers. Teachers have a value system and techniques to impart that to students . Today these idiots dont have any

If you pick up certain bad civil servants and compare them with certain good teachers, I don't think that means anything... Anyone can do the opposite... There are so many teachers who are not worthy of being called teachers... They have been responsible for students' childhood trauma... You think there aren't people who are in jail, who were teachers ?? We don't have many good teachers... There is no basis for assumption that if teachers were respected, if they had high salary, there would have not been brain drain... Most of those going abroad don't even belong to the teaching profession.. It was not their soul's calling; that's all !! TALENT IS NOT RESPECTED IN INDIA; nothing to do specifically with teaching... The talent going abroad, if they actually wanted to stay in India, they would have got what they wanted despite reservation, and now that coaching institutes are offering good salaries, they would have stayed... Their dream was to go abroad... Most of them are from tech field, and are getting good remuneration for their work outside...
