I’ve been typed as a Dramatic Classic and I think this is probably the best video yet explaining this type. Something I’ve found is that gathered waistlines look terrible on me and also if there’s any flaring out towards the bottom of a skirt then it needs to be straight over the hips before it flares out. I love wide leg trousers but make sure the pleats from the waist are stitched down so that they are straight over the hips. Also pleated midi skirts are great and wrap dresses if in a structured fabric. Halter necks also look good. I want to work on adding some slight asymmetry into my looks more and some contrast details as it will probably look more balanced. After being typed I gave up my beloved ditsy florals and empire line dresses as I realised that they don’t look good on me so now when I want a floral pattern I make sure that it has a large and non uniform print with some sharpness to the floral details.
I thought that I was a dramatic but I don’t have such a strong vertical line. I thought about it more- after buying kibbes new book, he describes dramatic classic with two distinct lines. Vertical and balance. Feeling that my shoulder to waist to hip ratio all make a rectangle but overall there is not one feature that directly stands out everything is in proportion to one another, I placed myself as a dramatic classic. I have the tiniest bit of yin in my face- my lips and my cheeks are slightly fleshy. obviously my height at 5’5 ( although people are always shocked by this) is another yin quality. Every time I wore really structured angles I would get compliments but it felt a little harsh on me. Makeup is the tough one for me, as I am a true summer and that’s all about soft tones, dramatics are meant to wear shaper clearer and more defined looks when in comes to their makeup. I am going to work to find a balance between the yin and yang…. With primarily still honoring my yang dominance. Wish me luck!
this video really helped! This really made sense to me. It was great to see male examples since this helps non-binary people as well as men. I liked the knit mention and how you refrained from going into stuff that really depended on essence territory. I would LOVE a video on identifying your proportions and dressing for them!
This is a great video. I'm having a difficulty finding my type because I am very tall, 6ft but do not fit a true dramatic. I have characteristics of classic but because of my height I'm not sure. So far I resonate with many of the characteristics described here. Thanks for the great content.
Hi. I enjoy your videos. Please do a full video on Theatrical Romantics if you haven't already. I don't think I've seen it in your playlist. Thank you and continued success!
Haha yes I will be doing comparison videos soon. But flamboyant gamines have longer limbs usually, especially in comparison to their heights. Dramatic Classics are proportional and moderate all over ☺️
Beautiful combo ☺! Mmm this is pretty difficult to answer without analyzing because I am not sure how dominant you are in each of those essences, plus your colour season plays a big role. Everyone is incredibly unique on how these blends appear and present themselves. Quick answer would be to dress according to the Dramatic classic lines, add in bold colours, your hair or accessories can lean natural and makeup romantic. If you want more help you can book me for a consult 🙂
gosh I'm starting to think I'm DC! I was told by someone on kibbe reddit I was a D, so went down that rabbit hole but didn't feel fully right - so I thought aha I'm FN! But now I'm thnking DC because even though I'm 5' 7.5" and have long arms and torso, I have normal/small shoulders and normal length legs. So i have a vertical, but its not like wow you are tall! Anyway I love some of these clothes on me, which is another hint- I've noticed that mid calf suits me and I have alWAys loved color blocking, which isn't so much great for pure Ds.
I believe I am a DC based upon multiple Kibbe tests I’ve taken to self analyze as well as the types of clothing lines and fabrics that flatter me. My main stumbling point (and the reason I’ve taken test after test) is that I am quite tall. I measured 5’10.5” in my 20s and have shrunk down to a mere 5’9.5” in my 60s. I’ve never looked as tall as I am and people are surprised by my actual height. Much of my height is due to a long torso. I have average length arms and legs. Tall sized garments are too long for me but finding a one piece swimsuit that fits is challenging. Jumpsuits are out if the question. What do you think? Can I truly be a DC?
Some DCs are tall, it is possible! It's more about the overall impression you give off, so if people are shocked to hear you're tall then that's a sign. If DC clothes really do feel and look best on you, then I say it's safe to assume you're a DC. It's all a spectrum and so many variants exist. Hope that helps 😊
I feel you on the long torso! I am average height, but shortish legs with a long torso, most of the length between where the legs end and my natural waist. On top my abreast sits very high, so finding a good one piece swimsuit is a nightmare... I found that I do best with dresses and skirts, as I "just" need to fit them to my torso mostly and then have them skim the lower body.
Great question! I’m going to do a video about mixing body type, essences and colour analysis soon, so stay tuned 😉. It’ll help you answer this question!

Love it!! Totally embracing your body type :)
Very helpful. I think I'm a dramatic classic type. Thanks for including men in your examples and for your clear explanation.
Such a great body type! You’re so welcome ☺️ I believe everyone should be included when it comes to style, thanks for watching!

Glad this helped a bit of the confusion! There is lots of drama in dramatic classics, so it might be why you resonate with it.
Can you make a video about hair for the body types?
Yes absolutely! It’s on my list! I’ll be doing hair styles for both body types and essences ☺️
@@myleneamelie Yay! I can’t wait!

Can you do a video showing the comparisons and differences between dramatic classic and flamboyant gamine? I'm having an identity crisis 😂
Haha yes I will be doing comparison videos soon. But flamboyant gamines have longer limbs usually, especially in comparison to their heights. Dramatic Classics are proportional and moderate all over ☺️
How should I dress if I have a dramatic classic body type and a combination of natural, dramatic, and romantic essences?

Yes! Lots of people confuse Dramatics with DCs, but sounds like you figured it all out 😉

What about a Dramatic Classic with Gamine, Ingenue and Romantic Essences and Bright Spring Seasonal Coloring that lives in a tropical contry?
Great question! I’m going to do a video about mixing body type, essences and colour analysis soon, so stay tuned 😉. It’ll help you answer this question!
I am wondering what your body type is Mylene?
I’m a Flamboyant Gamine ☺️
