I love this song sm Im so happy it's popular now. In art at school my art teacher played this and we had to draw what we imagined while listening to this. (We did this with a different song every monday for a warmup we had a different warm up everyday) i drew lola. I gave her a 60's puffed hair style with feathers and a old dress with gloves and heels. She turned out gorgeous
If anyone is wondering about the story of the original song (this is out of the top of my head so take it with a grain of salt) Lola was (obviously) a show girl. She fell in love with a guy (think his name was tony) they started dating. One day, a customer started to get a little to touchy with Lola. Tony, being her boyfriend, didn’t like this and started a fight with the customer. Idk how but it ended up causing him his life. Years later, we see Lola after she’s lost her 1. Youth 2. Her Tony 3. And her mind. So yeah, the love of her life ended up dying because he didn’t want his gf to be harassed
Tony is not a man 😭 its a reward you get for being an entertainer (not sure which kind) on broadway and being good at it. Formally known as the Antoinette reward and for short a Tony. She lost her Tony bc she wasn’t performing anymore. Lmao
