Wow. I never expected anything this polished on RUclips. Bravo to the 3 performers for the amount of work they needed to do to make this happen. It brought tears to my eyes to see such a lovely tribute. Thank you for doing this.
1) I *love* that we hear the real taps from the dancers in-camera. It's a little glimpse into what the original number might've sounded like before they dubbed the taps in. 2) Loved the bloopers, too! Once again it gives us a taste of the sheer amount of work these types of sequences take to dance and to film with modern digital equipment and editing, let alone with 1950s film technology. Thank you very much for giving the world this wonderful tribute.
Debbie said they finished shooting at 5am....I assume you guys had much better working hours. This is a great tribute to Gene Kelly's choreography and the ability of a cast to nail the authenticity.
Me at the end "The couch they brought in THE COUCH!" Such a faithful and quality tribute to the original. bravo! Brava! Good job to everyone and thanks for bringing such joy to all of us :) And lol the NGs for the couch scene. If I remember correctly the original had to be filmed 17 times before Gene Kelly was satisfied with how they tipped the couch and flopped down on it. Seems like you guys recreated the filming process too hahaha
I love seeing these comments that just have random facts about the movie scenes because I also know random facts about the movie! It's fun to see other people that have very similar interests!
Thanks for making this amazing remake! It’s honestly kind of hard to watch the original knowing what she had to go through. Imagine being 20 and not only learning tap from scratch in a few months, but then having to PERFECT this routine.
I actually don't know how some people are so miserable that they could dislike a video like this!! It's just so good, literally one of the best videos I've ever seen! Good job. 👌
Wow, I was bowled over by this spectacular performance ! The cast did everything so well and with such verve and FUN that I wanted to dance with them ! CONGRATULATIONS !
This is the definition of feelgood. It's so happy and joyous. It's also a faithful and expert tribute to the orginal that required a lot of study of the original as well as the obvious talent and rehearsing. The section with the yellow coats was particularly brilliant. Congratulations.
Wow! What an amazing performance! A wonderful tribute that clearly required a lot of work. Well done! I think I'm in love with the beautiful young lady!
Oh my goodness....I absolutely LOVED this ❤! Singing in the Rain has to be one of my favourite musicals and was lucky enough to see a production of the musical in Johannesburg.
I thought that was only for 'Would You' and 'You Are My Lucky Star' because of Betty's richer singing voice. Well, now i'm confused. But that's besides the fact that this is an outstanding tribute!
Fantastic! One of my favorite routines in one of the greatest musicals of all time. You three are so polished and very entertaining to watch. I smiled the whole way through. Debbie would have loved it. 😁 Here's your trophy! 🏆
Fred Astaire didn't have much time for Gene Kelly. Referred to him as 'the Irishman'. When Tommy Steele went to Hollywood to make Finian's Rainbow in the 60's, he first took dance lessons from Kelly. Then he arrived for dance rehearsals with Astaire, who took one look at his moves and said ..... 'Hmmm... you've been learning from The Irishman, haven't you.....'. Then Astaire took Tommy under his wing, made him practice day and night, and before shooting started, re-taught him how to dance.
@@shanewaterman4125 This is a wonderful bit of Hollywood memorabilia. Gene Kelly was pretty well known for being demanding and a bit disparaging behind the scenes. . . But you can’t deny that both he and Astaire (more to my taste) put out a quality and entertaining product.
Honestly: WOW! This is so unexpected and I’m just flabbergasted with the charm. Thank you so much to everyone who was a part of this - you’ve brought a little joy into my humdrum life, and your hard work ain’t been in vain for nothin’. 😉
Oh my goodness, I don’t even know where to begin with the comments but this has just totally and completely MADE MY NIGHT!!! When I was 17 Singing In The Rain was my favorite film ever! Every time my parents would go to the library my Mom would ask what she could pick up for me and I’d almost always says, Singing In The Rain. I loved the film so much that on the night of my birthday, at eleven that night I put in Singing In The Rain that way when the clock struck midnight and I was officially eighteen I would be halfway thought the film. Half at 17 and half at 18, not a bad deal. Well, now I’m about to turn fifty in about three months and I still love this film as much as I did when I was 17, so when I say THIS WAS SPOT ON PERFECT, you know, that I know, what I’m talking about. Thank you SOOO much for making this and posting it, it was an amazing and wonderful find and I can’t wait until I have the chance to show this to my Mother because I know that she will love it as well. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! Much love to all of you!!!
Eloise Kropp! and Christopher Rice! and Clay Thomson! Oh My! Your Tribute to Debbie Reynolds and Gene Kelly and Donald O'Connor in “Singin’ in the Rain”’s “Good Morning” is: MONUMENTAL! Oh! My Dear Eloise, Christopher and Clay! You are so Lovely! and so Cute! and so Adorable! And, of course, you are Incredibly Talented Actors, Singers and Dancers! And, Wow!: you are so Beautiful! Thank you very much for all the happiness and joy you give to me with your lovely video! :)
Wow! I wasn’t expecting this really stellar tribute to the Mega Stars that performed in Dancing In The Rain. Hands down, still one of my favourite musicals from that era. These young people performed brilliantly. Donald O’Connor, Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds would feel honoured I’m sure. Exquisitely done❣️
I LOVE this. The bloopers and out takes were exactly what I needed to make me laugh today. I'm so glad I got to see how you did the part with the couch because in the video it all looked so effortless.
OK, this is the one that's going to make me start a "favorite RUclips videos" playlist. Nothing really to add to what everyone else has said. I've bemoaned the loss of the traditional musical for so long I thought we'd never see anything like it again and then this shows up. Splendid, guys.
She absolutely would be but Gene and Donald are rolling in there graves at that pronunciation of "Louisiana" guys guyyyyss listen to the movie soundtrack its "Lu-ze-ana"... however i will say this performance is just magnificent!!!!!
That was really excellent. A really great job of staying true to the choreo while working with the surroundings you had available. The staircases really didn’t feel like they were missing at all. Awesome job.
Thank you for remembering Debbie. Debbis was an excellent actress and "Singing In the Rain" "GOOD MORNING" was my favorite number!!! Debbie had a big heart, and was always kind and giving to her fans. You guys did an awesome job and I think Gene, Don, and Debbie would be very proud!!!
What a wonderful thing to wake up to! It was great, Chris! And it was great hearing you guys singing! I was amazed by Clay's voice. I knew he had a great voice after seeing him in Newsies but this was just almost too good!
Singin’ in the Rain was my favourite musical out of a long list. I grew up watching Hollywood musicals and can watch them over and over again - they never get old. Thank you for recreating this for us. You are all so talented and I look forward to watching more of your videos. With best wishes from Down Under 😘💕👯♂️🇦🇺.
This is wonderful As a life long tapper I loved it and it made my morning. Chris and Clay really channeled Gene and Donald. Eloise really did Debbie Reynolds justice. I had the pleasure of meeting Debbie Reynolds when she came to Richmond VA to celebrate Seniors increasing their activity levels. I will never forget shaking her hand and being in the presence of a legend. Thanks for putting this out there. LOVE it
Wow, Todd! That is INCREDIBLE that you got to meet her in person. We are beyond jealous. Thanks for the love on this video. It was a blast to work on. Feel free to check out the other vids on my channel! :) More TAPPY fun!
Good luck to you both when Broadway opens up. Do either or you teach tap? I live in VA but travel to NYC on occasion and normally take at Steps on Broadway

Wonderful to see young people taking an interest in classic Hollywood. Best movie ever!!!
JesusGirl345 I love it too!! This generation is missing out on the good ones 🥰 but hey no one can top the original, am I right? Lol

I agree. I found that quite thrilling to hear. In-camera taps were almost like retrieving the lost originals.
A ray of sunshine! Thank you!

"we need more tap in our lives" well said and VERY true!!
My favorite number of Singing in the Rain, recreated brilliantly here. Excellent job.

Debbi will always sing this song the best.
Little known fact, Debbie didn't sing in the film. Her voice was dubbed over by another singer! Crazy, right?
that was during "would you?" she sings "singing in the rain" and "good morning"
According to my research Betty Noyes dubbed Good Morning but who knows! Whoever did it, it sounds great and Debbie is a dream! :)
what a wonderful response, and a beautiful tribute. i wish you continual success.....

THAT. WAS. AMAZING!!!
Fact:
Gene insulted Debbie that she can't dance. Fred Astaire found her crying below a piano
Carrie Fisher said that her mom and Donald stayed friends after that, and neither of them really cared for Gene.
Her feet were bleeding by the end of the Good Morning shoot, and Gene Kelly allegedly dubbed over her tap sounds with his own.
