if you all think this is horrific, its jus a tip of iceberg.
i work here in Khunti district in Block development office.
its all set up deeply, a BDO needs to give certain sum to IAS officer and further it goes to current CM of Jharkhand. been working here for 8 years and nothing will change no matter how many officers get caught. reason is, people want themselves to get looted. the Mgnrega scheme she been looting on,people are equal culprit in it.,work gets done by machine, they don't work in reality and get amount credited, give half share to mafias, mafia transfers sum to BDos. its all setup and citizens are biggest culprits. if you wonder Chattisgarh and jharkhand born at same time yet jharkhand is so fucked up, my friends this is one of the reasons
if you want to know more in ground corruption systems let me know

@@7days280 We can never get rid of it, only way out is to stop it for a certain time. Here in Jharkhand it depends 50/50, they can only get a hold of it, if the elected ministry and bureaucrat is dedicated. if either one is corrupt it goes sideways.
State works differently here, the politicians lure majority tribal people towards government jobs and never give opportunities to Private companies, majority youth here sacrifice their youth in preparing for PSC/SSC examinations. Hence they always look at Government as a ray of hope. meanwhile Govt. gets the upper hand and keeps looting people parallely by giving no basic facilities. now even if there are news of corruption, local people would never argue about it bec they want the govt job exams to happen asap.
thats one way how people get fooled here.
there are plenty other ways but I've explained one of those. there's Tribal Land corruption, there's PDS corruption, Primary Health Sector Corruption, Mining Corruption, Electricity Corruption, PMAY Corruption, and alot more lol

I really appreciate your hard work and passion. People like Pooja Singhal are responsible for the poor condition of the state. She scored high marks in a Western-inspired and dominated education system and had no knowledge of Indian ethos and Indian culture. The culprit is our education system too. Jharkhand needs officers who are passionate about public service and values truth and honesty and are educated in Indian knowledge and scriptures.

You know what , the problem is that the political leaders are the most corrupt in a country who actually give the officers the dream of earning big and eventually by showing them the amount they can get by working with them they just subdue the officers slowly .
The biggest thing we can do is direct investigation on every politician and IAS officers every 6 months and to do this work they should establish a separate organisation under the highcourt directly independent from political pressure.
But still every where, the money the politicians get through corruption in funds and stuff is too much that can bribe a officer of any office .
So in a way I think having multiple such agencies would be a good thing keeping eachother in check or emptying the politician's pocket too well .

She's just the one who got caught there are many who are still working even after committing corruption. The IAS lobby in India is quite strong which common people don't realise. Once you crack the IAS, you are added to several WhatsApp groups consisting of IAS from 1950s batch as well. Some of these grps are legit, honest and working to guide to newbies but almost 80% of them are to keep the corruption ring going and train the new joiners as well such that the old timers are also in loop and keep getting the cut after retirement.

We could take a leaf out of Singapore's politics. Ministers and bureaucrats are selected for theor achievements and paid extremely well. The salary is on par with many highly paid senior management roles in the private sectors, but the punishment for corruption is extremely severe. In fact there was a minister who hanged himself when he was caught for corruption sometime in the 80s or 90s. Similarly, the UPSC commission should pay civil servants really well (3x the current pay) but have rigorous performance appraisals and severe punishment for corruption or misuse of power. Basically the risk of being caught should far, far outweigh the reward of taking bribes and that will be a strong incentive for civil servants to think a thousand times before they break the law, and their thought process should be: "if I am caught I will put my salary and position at risk, so let me not break the law, is it completely not worth it at all."

The ONLY reason why competition is high in these exams is due to the power abuse and corruption money that exist in that position. The public servant acts like local king, instead of working for the public they work for few businessman instead.

I think there should be some sort of ministry or dept whose sole work is to check and observe the functioning of ias/ips/irs/ifs, etc and if found any irregularity they can correct them, redress them and take actions if necessary, by this way delay in justice and loss to Indian exchequer can be avoided.
