Brings back old memories of my childhood sandbox and the garden hose and my tonka toys. 🤠
Brings back old memories - except, quite often we had to make some changes to the technique. We were building the main multi-lane divided roads for a new community. Problem was that, as laid out in plans, it crossed a muck swamp. Fortunately we were excavating a new lake not far away. So a large scraper / pan operation could provide all the necessary materials for creating a base for the new road.
Drag lines did much of the muck removal (in Florida, muck is so high in organic material that it would burn given the right circumstance, and is absolutely the worse material for a stable road base ever), however, to insure that every last bit of it was removed before filling in with new road bed, we had to alter the technique slightly. Difference was we used bull dozers to push the fill down off "the end" with a downward pushing - essentially "bubbling /pushing any remaining muck out of the way and replacing it with fill. Worked great. Called it surcharging.
The caveat was the dozer operator had to know exactly when to stop the pushing down (off the bank end) and back out back up on to the new rough grade. Almost lost one because out of thousands of pushes, one went a yard too far and couldn't back out. Had to run the scraper push-dozer D8 about 3/4 of a mile out of the bottom of the lake to assist 2 other dozers to pull him out - before it slipped away - and under. Good times - good memories.

Where did you learn how to make a road, no drainage, burms holding water on the road
You have to strip the overburden off of where your building a road, this looks like a high water table area which refills your cut. Refill in the center with fresh material, farming water to the outsides and away. The outside dirt burms actually help contain the water to the affected area. Cut in ditches to drain water to its final destination. I build a lot of roads the raw land in Alaska

Интересная технология. У нас просто вызвали бы сюда бульдозер, и он бы работал вместо самосвала, передвигая перед собой и одновременно уплотняя песок. Экскаваторщику гораздо меньше работы, и самосвалу не пришлось бы крутиться на этом пятачке, рискуя опрокинуться в кювет.

I really enjoyed watching this from the operator's view. It was almost hypnotic. I admire the skill exhibited, and the equipment was in great condition. The triangle shaped and swiveling bucket, on the one excavator, looked like it was very handy.

The 3D map system is something incredible.
Also it's insane that with a flick of a finger, like with flattening sand, you do a job two-three men with shovels would need like half an hour or so. This is why we built civilization!

In North America that 210 would have a 2.5 yrd clean up bucket on it with a smooth or serrated cutting edge on it for digging in that fine material...it looks like a very fine sandy material without a rock in it!!
